Visited their booth at a wedding fair we attended a few months back. We were encouraged by her husband to enter their raffle, which was for a free engagement shoot and a portrait. Cool prize, why not give them our info, we may need their services for the wedding... We later find out that we won, so I contacted Gina to set an appointment. I was able to work around her schedule and set the date and time... About a week or so before our scheduled appointment, I get an e-mail from Gina about our upcoming shoot... She was going to be in the city, and wanted to know if we could somehow move the shoot to earlier in the day and get an idea of where we would like to shoot... I replied back with the OK in the time change and offered some suggestions for location... A meeting place was established, but something went wrong in the communication... On the day of the shoot, we arrive at the location, and no photographer... Usually a good business person would CALL to confirm, with a client or in our case a potential client... Nothing... So I call Gina, and she was very rude on the phone... I gave her my name and she acted as if she didn't know who I was unitl I mentioned the shoot we scheduled with her at that very time... She said that I didn't reply to her last e-mail and that she didn't have to chase down a free shoot, she made other plans and pretty much hung up on me... First of all, it was free because they offered it as a prize for their stupid raffle... Smart way to prospect people, but I guess that's what you have to do when you're not very business savy, woo people with free sh-t, and hope to get their business at a wedding fair... Not gonna lie, I was not impressed with their product and wasn't even going to consider using them for our wedding... We decided to go with a professional, I suggest you do the same. read more

My wife and I were fortunate enough to find Gina to photograph our big day. She was easy to work with, professional in her communication/follow-up, and her easy going nature made her a source of comfort on such a stressful day. As with other reviewers, my wife discovered Gina at a bridal show and won the free engagement shoot. Considering the shoot was free of charge to us Gina did a fantastic job of communicating with us and scheduling the shoot. We quickly discovered Gina's easy going attitude and found it refreshing compared to others photographers we'd met with. The engagement shoot turned out great - we were so pleased with the results we booked Gina for our big day. It was roughly 4-5 months between our engagement shoot and our wedding day. We hired Gina's husband, Doug, for our daughter's wedding in 2007 as I had worked with him in the newspaper business and knew his skills. When I needed to hire a photographer for my son's wedding, I called him back up! In the intervening years, Doug married Gina and she had established a more formal wedding photography business. I was hesitant at first because as a journalist, I wanted first-rate documentary style photos just as much as my future daughter-in-law wanted the traditional portraits. But Gina had worked as a photojournalist, too, and I knew Doug's eye was top-notch, so I didn't question the decision too long. Gina and Doug photographed my son's wedding on June 1 at the Blackhawk Auto Museum in June and they were terrific. We had 10 children in the wedding party age 5 and under, and wrangling them was no easy task! Plus, it was a hot day and the heavily dressed bride, groom and attendants were literally sweating during the pre-ceremony sessions. Gina and Doug worked seamlessly with the videographers. They were friendly but professional with everyone. They had lots of fun ideas for the posed photos, and seemed to be everywhere at once. The first-cut photos appeared within a few days and the photos I have seen to date are gorgeous -- especially the portrait of the groom's parents! -- and I can't wait to see the rest of shots and the album. I had attended about 2 other bridal shows and Gina's photos still stuck out to me. About a week later we were contacted for a free engagement photo session for winning her raffle. We met with her in the city and she was so much fun! My husband is not photogenic and she made us both feel comfortable and the photos turned out great. She does some great stuff with enhancing the light and not really touching us up. I don't like when photo shop goes to far and makes the person look unrealistic. For the wedding her and her partner were on time, and did an amazing job at directing us on what would look best for the environment and lighting, they blended in and didn't stick cameras in our face the whole time like I have seen at other weddings. Gina just shot my wedding on the 2nd of September, she was awesome. From when we first met, we were shown pictures from previous shoots. Her style is memorable and she does a lovely job capturing the spirit and mood. She applies some unique effects, that make for great shots. Once we signed, Gina made periodic contact to check in and see how things were coming along. I had done some of my own research on various photographer's websites, printing pics of picture styles I liked. (I like fun unique shots, not everyone lined up in a row.) Gina was super receptive to my suggestions and made herself a copy, so she would know what I liked. (On the day of the wedding, Gina had made a cheat sheet with mini images and notes to herself. This made me very happy.) On the day of the wedding, Gina had a second photographer, her husband. They are a great team, with their personalities complimenting each other. I was not sure about doing a First Look, bride and groom seeing each other before the ceremony, but Gina pointed out that it would give us more picture sets and time. At the end of the day, all you are going to have left are memories and pictures. I am glad that we listened to Gina and did the First Look. The pictures came out great, and without the First Look we would have either had less pictures or had to take longer to get to our reception. Gina and her husband, Doug, we inconspicuous, yet everywhere during the reception. Different and interesting vantage points were used, resulting in some amazing pictures. About a week after the wedding, Gina had up some unedited, rough pics, for us to see on-line. Things are looking wonderful! I am sure I will love my wedding album, and parent books I purchased. I was referred to Gina by another couple I am close friends with who had their engagement photos taken by her after meeting through a bridal show. I had already been shopping around for photographers and had not really found any that took pics in a style that felt right for me. Once I saw my friends' engagement pics, I was convinced I should really consider Gina. I set up an appointment with her to view her portfolio and was really sold on what I saw. Plus, she was really down to earth and I could tell she would be easy to work with. Gina shot our engagement pics and we were quite happy with them. She had been very flexible regarding meeting times, location, etc. In what seemed like warp speed, our wedding date arrived. Gina and her husband were early and ready to shoot. They really thought of everything...got great posed shots and great candid shots. They worked well with my family (and my family is not the easiest to work with). I first met Gina and her husband at the only bridal fair I attended while I was engaged. I won their raffle for a free engagement shoot and 11x14 photo. Since my (then fiance) and I had not yet taken engagement photos or chosen a wedding photographer, we took full advantage. We chose a funky urban spot for our engagement shoot and Gina arrived early to scope out good photo locations. We were so impressed with her artistry and her ability to make us comfortable and relaxed. Her ability shined through in the final product - we ended up with 20 GREAT shots - and we had difficulty narrowing down our choices. (I think we ended up ordering five of the files. I can't say enough good things about Gina. She was the photographer for our engagement shoot and for our wedding. The photos for both came out amazing and surpassed my expectations. My experience with her- she really has an eye for what will translate well in the photos. She is open to suggestions and also has her own ideas for great shots. I have showed my wedding photos to many people, and more than a few times I have been told that my photos look like they could be in magazines! That is a testament to the great eye and talent of Gina. Not only does she know what translates best in photos but she is also great to work with. She is easy going, open to your ideas, offers suggestions but also wants your input. After my wedding my mother commented that she was really impressed with her, she said that she was there taking photos but was never in the way and was so nice to everyone that she melded into the wedding well. I couldn't be happier with my photos, they exceeded my expectations. I have many more great things to say about her but I will not only refer Gina to my friends but I will go back to her for any other photography needs I may have in the future.....hopefully a baby photography shoot soon! We can't recommend Gina enough! Our experience working with her and her husband Doug was one of the high points of our wedding. Before the wedding, Gina was attentive, detailed, flexible, and responsive, and she and her husband Doug took the time to scope out picture-perfect locations at the venue. During the wedding, their calm competence put us at ease, despite the stress of the day. Both Gina and Doug radiate good-humor that rubs off on everyone they photograph and turns each picture into a work of art. They have the rare ability of being able to capture special moments at just the right time and just the right angle. And when they work with groups, they are incredibly skilled in creating natural, beautiful poses that make photo sessions fun. The emotion, beauty and nuance that Gina and Doug were able to capture blew us away when we first saw their photos.
