I heard positive feedback on Gina's from Marine Park Group on FB so I decided to try them. I was able to get a same day appointment with Steven. I wanted a full head of highlights and a haircut. Steven was attentive and wanted to make sure he was giving me what I wanted. He spent a lot of time on my hair and placed many foils to ensure I had received a lot of color. He also helped get rid of my old color which was turning brassy. I loved the finished color and cut and I am definitely going back. Steven is also available on a few nights until 8pm which is great. read more

I've been going to this salon for about two years now & all of my experiences have been amazing. I normally have Marie color & trim my hair (included are some pictures of her work). My most recent trip I had Steven color & trim my hair because my normal stylist was booked & he did an amazing job. All of the stylists here do exceptional work! Marie, Danielle, Clara & Steven have all trimmed my hair. I always get compliments on my hair whether it's the color or cut done by this salon. Wow!!! Clara is an Amazing colorist that really cares about me as an individual. This is by far the best person-hair stylist , I've met in all my life. Gina has been a great hair dresser for a long time. If you have a picture she can do anything and make it look even better. Obviously Britt is either exaggerating or did something other than what she said cause this place is decently priced for the city. I've never had a problem with this salon all the people are nice and good at what they do. Everyone has a wonderful talent for hair. read more

After seeing a beautiful haircut on a local woman who had the same long, thick, curly/wavy hair as I do, I discovered she'd had it done by Steven at the salon. I stopped by and asked him to take a look at my hair prior to making an appointment, stressing that I wanted long layers and would not be blowing it out, ever. The actual experience a few days later was underwhelming, to say the least, and the most positive thing I can report is that they take COVID-19 precautions seriously. Apparently, permitting customers to actually be able to look in the mirror as they're being worked on is discouraged, so I endured uninspiring views of plastic sheeting, other customers' footwear, and the cash register. Steven, my highly-recommended hairstylist, declined to engage in any conversation with me, preferring to speak Spanish with another stylist there. Despite our prior conversation days earlier, he proceeded to blow out my hair after cutting it, and I reasoned that since he's a beauty professional perhaps I was in store for a knockout "TaDa!" moment once I was allowed to see what he'd been doing for the past 45 minutes. Well, that was a big NOPE. It was a typical haircut/blowout, nothing special, and when he asked me how I liked it I responded, "I can't tell. You blew it out and I have no idea what it's going to look like once I wash it and let it dry naturally, which is what I told you I'd be doing." I'm not going to get into the particulars of the products they wanted to sell me, or their offer to bring me over to the sink again before putting me under a hair dryer for God knows how long. What I DO know is that when it comes to hair salons you get what you pay for, and this place was cheap in more ways than one, which is unfortunate, because I like to support local businesses whenever possible. Needless to say, I will be returning to the high-end Manhattan salons I've been accustomed to, where in addition to a guaranteed gorgeous result, you're actually listened to, engaged with in conversation, and get to look in the mirror. read more

Have known the owner, Gina, over 25 years; have followed here that although small, clean and very efficient. Her staff consists of great hairdressers that constantly keep up with the times too and it consists of four women that are very talented, Clara & Gloria, are her daughters that took after their mother in this art; Judy, who has been with Gina for as long as I've known Gina and Danielle, who is talented in all aspects..she colors as well as cuts and styles. These women are all great, patient and very accommodating; as Elizabeth said, you bring the picture and they can do the job almost to a T. The prices are comparable to any salon not just in the area, but cheap compared to some and definitely very inexpensive if compared to the City (NYC).
