I'm so happy I found Mary Catherine Photography. I went through various hashtags on Instagram to find someone who was doing fall minis, and just couldn't have gotten luckier. Not only were the photos fast (you're in and out in 20 minutes) but we got TONS of great shots in a variety of poses. She made the toddler in the family look like a child model and managed to make him smile a genuine smile for every shot he's in. Magic! My husband's sister lost her job due to COVID, so she's temporarily playing nanny to her cousin's toddler. There's so much about the pandemic that isn't great, but having so much family so close by for once is a small silver lining to this whole thing, and we wanted to document it by getting some family shots. Even though it was an overcast, humid day, the pictures all came out great and are cheerfully gloomy, with rich dark green backgrounds and pops of color from our outfits. We found and selected MC for a spring cherry blossoms mini session based on her portfolio. Unfortunately everything got rescheduled due to COVID-19. Fast forward to our late June socially distant shoot and it was so worth the wait! We could not have predicted these coming out as amazing as they did, we are historically awkward with "formal" photos. MC made us laugh, made us comfortable, and made us look goooood. We chose Mary Catherine for our infant/ family photos for our 3rd child. Taking pictures with kids ( ages 3,1, and 1 month) is no easy feat! But Mary Catherine was FANTASTIC. She made us all feel at ease, even my husband! She was playful with the kids so that they acted natural and their true personalities were represented in the pictures. We booked her for a maternity photo session, and she was very responsive from the start, provided an abundance of info (especially in her guide!), and made it clear what next steps/action items were. I was able to schedule the session months in advance, which I appreciated. Her prices are very reasonable. We just got family photos back from our session with Mary Catherine, and we LOVE them. We did a session outside with our 1 year old (son) and 8 year old (dog). Mary Catherine kept the toddler entertained and really captured his happy spirit by being ready to go with the flow. At one point, he decided the only thing he wanted to do was crawl, so Mary Catherine got down flat on the ground on her belly to capture some photos. At another time when he needed to walk around, she took the time to grab a few pics of me and our dog, even though that was not planned. We are celebrating our first pregnancy and, like many parents-to-be, we have taken so many precautions to be safe during these COVID times. With all the compromises we've had to make, the one thing I wanted was to get some beautiful pictures of my husband and I and my little bump. While we were concerned about possible exposure, we felt 100% safe with Mary Catherine after talking with her and I can tell you our experience with her has been outstanding. First of all, it is clear she is taking COVID very seriously. Not only does she understand the importance of being safe but she is also willing to take steps to making her clients feel as comfortable as possible. To mitigate our concerns, she suggested an outdoor shoot in a more isolated location. Then during the shoot, she wore a mask and kept an appropriate distance away from my husband and I, checking in with us along the way to make sure we felt comfortable. On top of all this, she clearly is a fantastic photographer--the lighting was perfect, the setting was beautiful, and she made us look like naturals in front of the camera. Needless to say, we are completely in love with the photos she took. I can't stop staring at them (we already got a sneak peak gallery!!) and it makes me so happy that we decided to go with her as our photographer.
