The interior of this shop is gorgeously decorated with bygone artifacts and the ambiance is enhanced by retro music. Jess and her associate are gentle and welcoming, which makes one want to linger and admire everything. That particular day, they were having what they refer to as yard sales. There was a rack of clothing outside the front door that was marked down to five dollars. I landed an adorable 70's dress that I look forward to wearing to an upcoming tea party. Outside the back door, there were several racks of clothes and a table of accessories on sale. Jess had refreshing drinks and coffee for her customers as well. Then, I found this 1930's bed jacket. It looks smashing with leggings and a tee.....I know this because I wore it to hear jazz on Sunday night. I felt like the bee's knees. There's a really sweet woman named Jen who always greets and has a smile for everyone coming in the door. I've never had a bad experience at this store, until today. Sunday, August 10, 2025. I found an Atari flashback 4 and Jen helped me by allowing me to open the used item to make sure the power cord was in the box. I was still on the fence about buying it because of the price at $31. I decided to stand off to the side and look up a few videos (muted) to see if the preloaded games were something i'd like to play. Out of nowhere an older woman came up to me and got in my face. I was a bit startled and I realized she must be an employee. Turns out she was the Manager. I'm 51 years old and this woman berated me like a 3 year old in front of other customers and employees. She said angrily that I was not allowed to look up items while in the store. I was kind of shocked she spoke to me in this way and I thought it was a joke at first. Then she started to grab for the item and said she would put it back on the shelf. At this point I was trying to keep it together. I had done nothing to be treated that way. I have always looked up items while in this store and never been accosted like that. I told her that I would stop looking on my phone, but I was keeping the item. She was pissed I didn't give it to her. She walked away in a huff to the back room. I had other items in my hand as well totaling over $40 and I was about 2 min away from making the purchase before she got in my face. After that insane treatment I walked up to Jen and told her what happened and said I won't be buying these items after all. Jen was very nice and apologized for the way I was treated. I will be back and I will always look up items. If that woman talks to me like that again I will just ignore her. Very rude manager!
