Would have been 5 stars if not for the seating arrangements and lack of wait staff. The people they have are great, they're just spread too thin. Seating is first come first serve with very little room to wait without clogging up the doorway. The food is excellent! The cheesy bread is my absolute favorite, and difficult to replicate at home. Sandwiches are very tasty, and with light sauce, the pizza is the best in two counties (Wilkes/Alexander). read more

The only reason I'm leaving a review after 7 years of faithful service to this restaurant because of there tasty meatball subs is becuase of the recent downhill trend of food quality back when I was in hs in 12 grade like 2 yrs ago a girl in my class worked there and she said to everyone in class that is was so disgusting and everything in it is so gross I didn't listen cause it was genuinely good food up until about a year ago I started noticing hairs in my food Ik how easy it is to get hairs to fall out but my father went to them to get me and my family subs not to mention if you want to save your sub for the next day take it out of the wrapping because if it sits over night the pepper will transfer to your sub leaving it inedible or you have to take the contents and transfer It to another sub roll of your own but in my sub I found 2 different hairs one short black one and one long black hair one looked like a long ass lash and the other was hair hair from a girls head hair and that's disgusting no matter how clean she is also when I went with a friend to get there food the drive through lady had her hand wrapped in plastic wrap cause she had a injury and she was still working it just sickens me that she had a injury and wrapped it in plastic wrap all in all I gave it two stars for the 6 ish years of good service but I'm guessing sense I've worked in the food industries i now know how easy it is to be clean in a restaurant and how easy it is to not get hair in food won't be back unless I'm forced to go with family or somthing but it won't be my money do better guys read more

Nice. Really good pizza. I mean I drive past like 4 pizza joints and drive 20 minutes out of my way kind of good pizza. Fresh ingredients. I highly recommend the pizza. The salads are okay. They could use a revamp. But the pizza is out of this world. The crust is good but somewhat leaning to the thin side which I love. They use high quality cheese which makes a huge difference. Fresh vegetables too. It's behind a gas station so the entrance is awkward however the interior is beautifully done. read more

Just like every restaurant in the country right now, Giovanni's opened with a warning that they were understaffed. That was the only point during the entire experience that I would have known that. There were probably 30 people eating and I never felt like I had to wave anyone down for attention, even as a single diner. The food and service were awesome! read more

Taylorsville is my hometown and anytime I'm home I will support local restaurants. However, after mine & my sisters experience today - they will no longer have my business (and hopefully not yours). My sister called in an order for her and my 7 year old niece. She went to pick it up and the other was wrong. The girl working at the window went to get the order fixed and asked her if she minded to wait 5-10 minutes, so my sister agreed to wait. ADAM, who runs the restaurant proceeded to LOUDLY and ignorantly yell at this worker for messing up my sisters order. So loud the entire restaurant could hear and my young niece who was in the car at the pick-up window. It honestly terrified her. My sister then asked him to just cancel the order and he began to get even more mad asking "WHY? IVE ALREADY FIXED IT" and she explained it had nothing to do with the girl who accidentally messed it up, but his attitude around his customers and towards his employees. My wife ordered two pizzas over the phone. She got there and they only made one. Then they told her it would be another 30 to 35 minutes for the 2nd pizza. Really bad experience for trying it the first time. So one cold pizza and hot pizza for their screw up and they refused to make up for it. read more

I normally don't write reviews that are negative but this experience left me with no other options. I have been pestered to the point of harassment to try this place, apparently it's supposed to be very good for the area. I come with my family on a Thursday night, walk in, and stood there inside the front entrance, very visible to all the waitstaff, and was not greeted or even acknowledged for twenty minutes. But we are so out in the country that we couldn't "just go somewhere else." There were three tables that had to be cleaned off, it didn't get cleaned off. Several other diners were finishing and leaving, yet no movement on seating my family. Finally, the tables began to get cleaned and finally we were told to seat ourselves. We ordered a small house special pizza (pepperoni, sausage, green peppers, mushrooms, and onions) with the thick crust, an Italian sub, a large lasagna, large baked spaghetti and garlic bread with cheese. Pizza was just ok, crust not as thick as it should be, but it was ok. Lasagna was also just ok, my son says it's nothing to write home about. Garlic bread is bread, you can't really mess up cheesy bread. Sandwich was decent, nothing special, but good. My spaghetti didn't make it out with everyone else's entree. Our waitress did not remember my spaghetti until I asked for it. She went to the kitchen and came back to tell me the kitchen apparently "burned" it and it will come out shortly. So I guess they also forgot to put my order in. When I did finally get to eat it, I realized quickly it was not worth the wait. Tl;dr - unfriendly and inattentive wait staff. They only allow one (1) refill for your drink (Pepsi products -ugh- only) while you dine inside. They charge extra for the pizza sauce to go with your cheese bread. And most importantly, food was only mediocre at best. Don't fall for the hype if you are in the area and some "local" tells you you have to eat here. I'd rather eat at the burger basket across the street with their moldy and stained walls, at least their food was good and they didn't ignore their customers. read more

Great spot for pizza or pizza related items in the small town of Taylorsville. I ordered a pizza sub for my lunch. What makes it great is that you get to customize your sub with whatever toppings you want-- for me, that meant hamburger, mushrooms, and banana peppers. It took about 15 min to come out but it came out hot and super delicious! The sub sandwiches are served with a side of chips and a pickle spear. read more

If I were rating this restaurant on the food alone, it would be 5 stars. If I were rating it on the service alone, it would be 0 stars. So I met in the middle at 2. The service here is TERRIBLE. On numerous occasions I sat down in the restaurant and i never got refills, the wait staff never came back to check on us, or were just rude in general. And keep in mind, it wasn't because the place was packed and the waitstaff was busy. That's understandable. At one point, the wait staff began to vacuum under our table while our glasses were empty. With a loud vacuum cleaner, not a silent non-motorized one. The service in the building was so bad that I had started only getting it to-go but that has proven problematic too. It's sad that a place can have such good food but the service make it so bad. read more

I have been coming to this pizza place for probably 20 years and it is still amazing! It is a small hole in the wall but definitely worth the drive! They have exceptional pizza (I usually get a small sausage pizza), but you can't go wrong with their lasagna or spaghetti. They also have really awesome cheese bread and marinara sauce for dipping. Oh and they have Cheerwine so that's awesome too! The staff is always super nice and the service has ALWAYS been on point. I look forward to going here every time I am in town. Giovanni's has been pumping out quality red sauce Italian food in the sleepy hamlet of Taylorsville for generations. Hidden behind a Shell station, the dining room has seen a recent renovation. Their specialties are highly cheesy baked pasta dishes and a sausage pizza comprised of ample quantities of small crumble sausage and their hearty red sauce. We've driven from Winston Salem to dine here, and would recommend any passing traveler to make the 20 minute detour from the highway. read more

Ignore the menu online that says they have a big pasta selection. It's wrong. They have lasagna and spaghetti, and pizza. Doubt we will be back. Olive Garden pasta is better. I've ate their pizza for probably 10 years or more and it is still by far my favorite pizza I've ever ate. I'm not sure what it is that they do to make it taste so good, but I've never found any pizza that tastes better no matter what pizza place it is or what state I may be in. The pizza itself can be a little pricey, but I normally have a little bit leftover of the large sausage pizza that I get each time for a second meal the next day. The staff is average at the delivery window (the only interaction I usually have with them), but could be a little nicer. Other than that this is one of the best places to eat in Taylorsville. The food is decent and since there's not many "sit down" places in Tville, it's an okay place to eat. My issue is with the wait staff. Especially one individual. Recently eating there, they seemed extremely understaffed. Our waitress was always in a rush and did not provide us much "customer service" at all. We advised her we wanted to go a little "different" with our meal choice this time (we usually get sandwiches) so we went for a pizza. After finishing our meal, we waited and waited for her to bring us our ticket. We were right by the kitchen so she passed us multiple times on her way to and from other patrons. Finally she asked "are you all okay ?" and my husband said "yes, we're just waiting on the check." To which, she lifted up the pizza tray and showed us that our bill had been hiding under there the whole time. She didn't tell us and since we don't eat pizza there normally, we were not aware. The smart-a##ed way she did that really ticked my husband off. She received no tip, and we have NEVER done that in all of our years of going out; we normally tip 20% and over, even for crappy service. read more
