Not the news I was hoping for, but it is what it is. He went through my options with me and fully explained them. I really appreciated that. I set up an appointment for the next day with Dr. Emily Smythe for extraction. She and her assistant (whose name regrettably escapes me right now) made me as comfortable as I could be, making sure that nothing was done until the novocaine was totally working. I was amazed at how short of a time this actually took. The extraction and bone graft for my upcoming implant took maybe 10-15 minutes. The next step, in about 3 months will be the post for the implant. Everyone from the receptionists who scheduled me and helped me with my insurance paperwork to the assistants to the doctors at Cameo were friendly and professional. I highly recommend them!

If you're not familiar with the area, you should definitely leave early. I was slightly late due to this very issue. I was greeted warmly, but there seemed to be more questions about insurance. All insurance information had been taken care of. There was a continuous theme: money. They were already charging me for the x-ray but wanted my insurance so they could bill the insurance and reimburse me if the insurance covered it. The problem is, I would never know.......... The staff didn't seem knowledgeable or trustworthy. After paying for the cost of the 3D x-ray, she didn't verify my email address and sent my receipt to the wrong email address. I had to ask for an itemized bill because the receipt was only for the transaction and not what I paid for. The most interesting part, the visit only took 20 minutes total. Oh, and there was nothing wrong. The doctor and nurse practitioner seem fine. The doctor explained the issue but gave me nothing about what he explained. Did I mention, the expensive x-ray, they absolutely needed to diagnose my potential issue, I never saw it. I left feeling ripped off. I will never comeback here..........

Yes, that was an issue that needed to be dealt with but that was NOT the tooth my dentist had wanted done first. Consequently I still have to go back and have the original tooth worked on. The really strange part was yesterday I received a check from this facility that was 2/3 of my original co-pay. I have no idea if the insurance they quoted me was incorrect or this is money back for the "extra" tooth work. Bottom line, communication is not a strong point.

Both crowns have had to be removed and are now replaced with implants because the quality of work was well below standard. Neither crown lasted for more than 3 yrs. I had issue after issue with them. Infection in the gums (because food was caught under poorly fitted crown), crowns that fell out and had to be reglued. Not to mention the poor fit within my mouth causing jaw pain. In closing his billing is less than stellar also. Delta Dental has already paid him for the work he performed and he still bills out for other work that was never done.

The sight of blood led my dreams to go another route; however, I definitely value excellent dental care! Dr. Gardner and Advancements in Dental Care set the bar extremely high. Besides the standard free toothbrush at every cleaning, the office is decked out with cable TV (and I get to control the remote!) and cool little spigots that dispense mouthwash. I love that my x-rays instantly show up on their laptops and they can print them at my request. High-tech luxuries aside, Dr. Gardner and his staff are kind, patient, and gentle. Although they are not part of any insurance network, they are good at submitting claims and getting payment. Speaking of payment, that IS the one annoying thing. Because I am blessed to have Delta Dental, I get the pleasure of making all of my payments upfront, from my own pocket, and then getting reimbursed a few weeks later by my insurance. I hate that. Although Advancements in Dental is proactive about letting me know about invisalign and teeth whitening, I never feel as if they are doing unnecessary revenue producing procedures. That's important. They do what's necessary to take care of my teeth and anything extra is up to me.
