Typically it wasn't an issues, unless we had a wet spring, or a week of rain. This happens fairly regularly for us that live in Iowa. I thought I had two cracks in my foundation, turned out I had 6 Cracks. Eric and his team came out, found all the issues and promptly fixed them the next business day. I did run a water test and found one place that wasn't quite sealed. Eric had another professional out 2 days after the test, and promptly fixed it. I can't tell you how much of a relief after 10 years to finally have this off my shoulders. I would recommend Tomlinson-Cannon to everyone.

I can only assume that's for the slight catharsis of complaining into the void, because in my experience, they won't return any communication and, if they do, it's only to tell you that the issues are your own fault.   We contacted Tomlinson Cannon primarily to bury several downspouts and direct water further away from our home. We also had some gutter questions, and they recommended some modifications, including larger gutters on the front of the house due to the roof pitch. We were quoted gutter guards only for the front sections being replaced, but they agreed they weren't really necessary because our gutters were relatively empty. The drawings provided with the quote showed the trenching for the buried downspouts (5 in total) would not interfere with our foliage, but on the day of install the pipes were buried in different locations and significantly cut into the root system of a large red maple and decimated a bed of hostas. Disappointing, but what's done is done. I asked the installer what sort of maintenance I should be doing or how I'd know there was a problem, and he just kind of shrugged and told me I'd know.   A few weeks later we had our first moderate rain, and one of the downspouts turned into a geyser where it attaches to the pipe (photo attached). There were some other issues - drain covers popping off in rain, significant soil erosion around the drain, etc. I shot them a quick email with photos and some questions about whether certain things were normal or if there was anything I should be doing. It went unanswered, but after trying to call them we got an automated email 10 days later that service had been scheduled. I called them to follow up on the questions in the email and was told the worker would answer those when he came out.   Two months later on the scheduled Friday, I took off work early to be home for their arrival window between 3 and 5pm. No one showed up. I called and was told the job had been marked complete, and they'd have the guy call me back on Monday. That weekend it rained, and the geyser returned. No one called on Monday, so I called back on Thursday and was told a manager would call. Tim called me back, and he told me they had been out and cleared some debris from the drains, and the reason we're having a geyser is because we didn't get gutter guards. (Okay, and you were just going to sit on that information unless I call five separate times?) He said they actually don't guarantee their work without gutter guards (which was the first that had been mentioned and was absolutely nowhere on any of the paperwork), and he'd send a quote for gutter guards.   A week goes by - nothing. We call back and are told that Tim will call us back. Another week goes by - nothing. We call the number Tim called from and leave a voicemail. Another week has gone by with no response, so now I'm leaving this review, four months after the initial work was done, when we're still in the same (if not worse) spot with our downspouts.   We had some basement work done as well, and the guy who came out was great and answered all my questions fabulously. Similarly, the guy who came out for the initial gutter consult was great. But since the buried downspouts alone were $4k of the $7k we paid, I'm weighing my rating accordingly. It feels very disingenuous to say that the improperly working downspouts are our fault when that's the whole reason we contacted the company in the first place, and gutter guards were never mentioned or recommended for the pre-existing gutters that connect to the buried downspouts. We've checked the gutters - they have only a minimal dusting of birch catkin fragments (see photo). Would the gutter guards keep out the very small birch catkin confetti? I wouldn't know, because it's impossible to get any answers. Even if we wanted to remedy the situation by apparently paying several thousand more dollars for gutter guards, they won't return our calls. And if we get gutter guards, how can we be sure they won't add another arbitrary condition to their work after the fact?   If your project goes perfectly, you may have a very different experience. If it doesn't, perhaps try journaling, because the result will be the same. Based on our experience, I would not recommend Tomlinson Cannon for exterior work.

The owner came looking for a copy, I gave it to him, made a copy or two before for Insurance purposes, so I gave him the copy. He twisted everything around ask for more money...gave some more not all...finished the roof and wanted to be paid in full before finishing the contract. I said no! more will follow as the days go by. I want to sue him for harassment and more (some details left out on purpose). Feel sorry for him, but not going to be treated like a dimwitted woman!

I got a new roof in 2018 from this company and my roof has leaked in the same spot ever since. They sent someone out to look for the leak a couple of times, but they seemed to be frustrated that they couldn't locate the leak and stopped trying to fix it and stopped returning my calls. I've called the company at least half a dozen times to try to get someone to fix the roof but they won't . I do not recommend this roofing service. The owner Gene, sat at my table and we went through the quote ( materials, labor, tax, cash price, etc.). After we agreed and I paid half down, the owner told me that he was sending his "best crew" to do the job. After the "best crew" finished, I found that they didn't replace the drip edge, or the the boots around vents. All of that was quoted as a materials cost. If you hire this company, make sure that you inspect their work to make sure that they don't take shortcuts and cheat you out of your money. I suggest doing your homework and researching other roofers. I wish I did.
