That being said, this is the only barbershop I have been to where the staff doesn't listen to the customer. I for many years between 2011-2016 frequented the place asking for a specific hairstyle with a myriad of examples to accompany the task, but the dude with the muscles would always chop way too much off from the get-go, leaving me with a certainly "okay" haircut, but not what I asked for. For someone with friends in the industry, as well as some that are hairstylist, the unwritten credo to "chop light and go further if you need to" is for whatever reason, substantially lost on this particular hairsmith. If you just need a buzz, I mean, I guess it's fine? Or a simple taper, a fade; you should be good. You dare ask for anything else here, and I highly suggest you get it cut at your own risk, or even do it yourself because it will end up probably closer to what you had in mind if it doesn't fit an incredibly small window of styles that the muscle-bro can do. In October I booked an appointment online with Roberto. I paid in advance and Roberto canceled the appointment last minute. I contacted the establishment but they never refunded me the money I paid.... I was willing to overlook this as mistakes a can and will happen. I had an appointment booked for today with a different barber. They cited weather as a reason to cancel and asked me if I could reschedule. I had a 4:30 appointment but we are going on vacation and I could not reschedule. They then asked if I could come in at noon..... the weather at noon was worse than the weather at 4 PM.... I advised that I could not reschedule as I was working and could not make an appointment during this time. This is now two bad experiences in a row. I used to love this place but am afraid I can no longer book an appointment here. Either they take your money and don't refund you, or they cancel your appointment. I will have to look for another barber in the area that is trustworthy and reliable.

There's a Louie's for that in the same town. No offense. Louie's gives the best high-and-tights I've yet seen, but his "regular" haircuts end up looking like......"high and tights". Merely mentioning "less thinning" or "fuller sides" doesn't really help much. I'm already digressing. Tom is a good listener that cares enough to really try to give you just what you ask for without too much of the attitude that they know better because they're a barber. I fully appreciate that some customers will want cuts that would not flatter them, or even be possible with the actual hair they have (" make me look like fill-in-celebrity-name-here"). I get that, but it still is best to find a person who happens to be a barber who is genuinely willing and interested in actually having that conversation with you, not merely impatient to get-on-with-the-small talk, flip on the autopilot button on those clippers, and get you out of the chair for the.........NEXT!!!!!
