Stayed here for 3 days while exploring Glacier and thought it was well run. I think your experience really depends on whether you get one of the renovated rooms or one of the older ones. I stayed in an apartment-style room with a kitchen, bedroom and living room and it was really nice! The only problem I had with it was cooking anything on the stove caused smoke alarms every single time probably from unburnt carbon. A hood/vent would have been welcome. All in all though, the bed was really comfortable. The folks at the front desk were kind and bear spray was available for $38, but they would return $20 to you if you gave it back to them unused...not as nice as letting you borrow it for free (or for deposit), but still better than buying one outright for yourself. The location is approx 30 minutes from the west entrance of Glacier, maybe a tad less. All in all, a great little place with a laundry room - so was able to get some laundry done while I was here. read more

I would give this no stars if I could. From the moment we walked in I wanted to leave.we booked thru expedia so it was already paid for...We were in room 37 which was the furthest away from main building. Wifi was spotty being so far away. As I aways do on arrival to my lodging ,I check the bed/mattress for bugs. To my horrification I found a dead cockroach between the fitted sheet and bed protector! Not to mention the bed protector was so disgustingly yellow! The sheets were covered in hairs too. The blankets smelled used not clean smelling like at least the sheets did. The floors and base boards were dirty and under the bed was filthy! The bathroom sink was very dirty and wouldn't drain properly .There was dead spiders and webs in bathroom as well. Kitchenette sinks drained poorly as well. On the day we checked out a giant spider came out from under the bed!! read more

The place is rather run down but the room was clean and comfortable. Standard double queen room. Prices aren't the best but reasonable considering the proximity to Glacier. Also, the place has a lot of amenities and activities for the kids. The activities are faded and tired like the property itself but it was great for keeping the kids occupied for a couple of hours (and they were free). Mini golf, trampoline, volleyball, BBQ area, and large laundry facility. They do have breakfast but it is very basic. Cabins and motor home camping facilities are available as well as the standard motel rooms. read more

I thought this place was the best bang for your buck near Glacier Park. We got a room with 2 double beds and a kitchenette. For July the room was reasonable $127/night. The room was immaculate, clean clean clean. Wifi worked great for us, I guess if you're out on the campground it doesnt work as well. Check in was quick and easy, they called us around 9 p.m., check in policy changes at 10:30 p.m. Gave us a recommendation for dinner. Breakfast was carb laden, but oatmeal and fruit was manageable. No milk, but I noticed this as a trend in Montana, no milk anywhere just powdered creamer (yuck). The motel is about 15 minute drive from both the entrance to the park and Whitefish. Centrally located and free parking. read more

Stayed for 4 days as I explored nearby Glacier NP. It is conveniently located to the park as well as restaurants and stores in nearby Columbia Falls. The room was clean and neat, there was even a dog bed for my tired pups. The staff was friendly and the free breakfast was good. I especially appreciated the kennels. The lodge had nice, big, shaded kennels that locked. I was able to leave my dogs for the day and hike in Glacier. read more

A bit pricy for a tent. No discount since I had a full hookup that I didn't use . No shade thankfully it was overcast. The shower area was clean and nice to have a laundry room. But no ambiance to the place. Right in the highway and lots of construction going on. read more

After driving nearly 10 hours and not yet making it to the actual Glacier National Park, we needed a place to stay. We fortunately stumbled upon the Western Inn! For $120, we got a suite-- bigger than many studio apartments. It had a king bed, a sofabed (queen?), a full kitchen (full fridge, stove, microwave, coffee pot), and a bathroom. (We didn't actually use the kitchen, but there was a sign saying limited kitchen equipment was available in the office.) The room was huge, much bigger than we expected, and clean and cozy. The bathroom was also fairly large and clean. The Western Inn is pretty close to the West Entrance to GNP, but we wanted to stay at the East Entrance, so we only stayed here one night. It was a great find, though! read more

We stayed here last night. We requested and were told we'd have queen beds and our room had double beds. We had to take it because it was the last one left. The room was clean and at first I thought the beds would be comfortable but they had some kind of mattress pad that trapped heat because we got really hot. There were plenty of towels but no soap. Our room had a kitchenette which we didn't use but it was clean as well. There was nothing to hold ice though and when we asked were not given anything to put ice in. I don't think we'd stay here again unless we had to. read more

Pros: clean, friendly staff, easy 20 minutes to Glacier entrance, each double bed had its own bedroom (in motel), nice outdoor sitting area to relax after a long day at the Park, well-lit parking lot. Cons: really firm mattress, well-lit parking lot = front bedroom not getting very dark. I would stay here again. read more

We were lucky to find a camping cabin at the last minute! It did not have water but did have electricity and a/c. The room was clean, staff was friendly and beds were comfortable with linens and towels supplied. This is a laid-back dog-friendly hotel and campground combination. Lots of nice grassy areas for the dog and for us to relax. A little pricey for a cabin without water ($100 + $20 pet fee) and we had to pay $6 each for a continental breakfast (which is included for the hotel guests only). read more

The R V spaces are very bad. The site we were given was all rock the ankle twister type. We asked to be placed in a site with grass but the desk person said that would be to much work. The space we felt that worked for us was empty but we could not move before we had set up. Asked to have the rocks removed so we could walk out side our coach and it has been 3 days and nothing done. The cable does not work in the R V sites . Front desk person has a bad attitude. Our 50 amp plug was so far away I would gave needed a 50 cord to hook up. We had to use the 30 amp plug. Would not advise R V ers to just take a site that they are given. Check them out first. We were never given a site number until we checked in. When we check in many empty sites but we could not move. We had seen tent campers move so they could have more shade We won't go back. read more

We only stayed here one night before the 4 of us left for home on June 1, 2015. Easy to make a reservation. It had a bedroom with a king bed, 2 queen beds and sofa in the living room, a large full kitchen and a bathroom. Free Continental Breakfast -Not much juice, donuts, Danish but enough for what we needed. If you're expecting a 5 star experience I would look elsewhere but for a higher price. I would recommend this place to friends. read more

We stayed here for 3 days recently and we're pleased with our stay. The building is a bit old, but still in good condition. We stayed in a 3 bed room which fit 6 of us quite nicely (4 adults, 2 kids). Beds were comfy, but not the highest quality. I slept just fine on them. The bathroom door didn't have a lock, which was a bit weird, but we managed. The property is full of activities for kids and adults, including a trampoline with an enclosure, a volleyball net, mini golf (didn't use it so can't say much to it), lawn chairs, and more. All in all, a fun place to stay. Customer service was phenomenal! I feel really bad because I can't remember the guy's name (Paul?) but when we checked in he was nothing but polite, helpful, and quick. He even gave our kids a little toy (and even offered them another one later!). We had to have a serviceman come to fix a drain that wasn't draining and he was very helpful. The location is awesome! It's not too far from Glacier Park, close to nearby restaurants, and super easy to get to from the main roads coming into Columbia Falls. As someone else mentioned, there is free Wifi but it's spotty at best. I wouldn't rely on it to do anything important. Walking from one room to another you can lose it completely. Breakfast is available, but mostly muffins and pastries. I'd definitely stay there again on another trip to Glacier Park. The price and service were sellers. read more

We stayed here for 5 nights during our trip to Glacier. It was a good location between the West Glacier entrance to the park and Kalispell/Whitefish. We rented a camping cabin which was good for the price, about 65$ a night. It came with a queen sized air matress and two bunkbeds. The cabin was clean and came with ac/heat. We brought our own linens to save some money but I believe they rented for about 15$ extra. The cabin also had a porch swing which was nice. I wish the cabins were out of the way of all the parking lot lights so you could see the stars better. The camping cabin was a bit of a walk to the restroom/showers which were shared with the RV and tent sites. Two toilet stalls and two shower stalls. I never had to wait for either one in the women's. The restrooms were relatively clean. They advertise a "toast in breakfast" but it was lacking. Just lots and lots of carbs. They did have tea and poor quality coffee. I would skip breakfast here and head into town to Base Camp or Glacier Grill and Pizza instead. WiFi was also advertised but it was horrible. We could connect to their wifi but couldn't actually get onto the internet. We ended up just burning through our data on our phones. read more

Room was spacious with kitchen and stove. However kitchen sink and bathroom were dirty, toilet seat was stained. The worst part was they didn't change the bedding. It smelled so bad and we found blood stains on the mattress sheet. They also didn't empty out the trash bin in the kitchen. Be aware that the person who checks you in is also the person to clean the room. I will never go back to this hotel. read more

I stayed at Columbia Falls to visit Glacier National Park. When we arrived at Western Inn, we saw a sign that said that the office is close because the front desk clerk is out. Fortunately, she came out and removed the sign before we drove away. When we were about to check inn, she got a call and she made us wait for about 15 minutes for her to finish her call. The room was excellent; it was divided into two rooms. I never saw one like it before. It smells good and there is a nice TV, microwave, and refrigerator in the room. The next day we want to extend our stay but we could not find the front desk clerk and it was already nine o'clock. The room was really great but the hotel personnel seem to be MIA all the time. read more

***UPDATE*** A short time after we returned home, my husband received a little more than $10 credit to his card. $10 seemed like a very small amount to cover the bad experience. So, I emailed the Chamber of Commerce in Columbia Falls to let them know about our experience as this business is a member. The chamber forwarded my email to the owner of the motel and the owner emailed me back. After a few emails back and forth and some clarification as to what our side of the story was, the owner refunded the rest of one full nights stay. Apparently, the manager had filled out a paper giving our side and stated we only asked for $10 back. Which amounted to 15%. The same happened to the party we had met up with. This was absolutely not the case. I'm not sure what kind of management is overseeing things there but there is obviously some problems that run much deeper than just the mens bathroom door not working properly. I hope after this incident, the owners are able to get things straightened out. Their establishment is in a high traffic area as it leads into the west entrance to the park. Its issues like this that can cause a very black cloud to hover and thus fail a business. It would benefit the owners to make random trips to their motel and/or have friends of theirs stay to get a good feel of how things are really being handled. While I think we had every right to ask for a full refund, I am unsure that what happened won't happen again to other travelers if the same staff are still running things. After this experience, I definitely know to check reviews on a place before staying or buying their product. **Original review** The management/maintenance staff refused to repair the keypad entry on the mens bathroom. Instead they put a hand written note on the outside of the womens that said: Uni-sex, please knock/announce yourself before entering. This caused in excess of 25 people to be forced to use the womens bathroom for 12 hours; 2 toilets, 2 showers. The next morning, the maintenance man took a wad of batteries over to repair the door. The desk clerk said she would open the motel room that was empty, but didn't and when asked about it the next morning, it was still not done. There was nothing wrong with the mens bathroom itself, only the keypad to get in; which apparently only needed the batteries replaced. Upon checkout, I inquired about a refund and was told that would be up to the owner, who would be contacting us. That has not happened. I will be leaving a review like this on every social media outlet and update if and when we ever hear from the owner. We will never stay there again. read more

Just left after staying for 3 nights while visiting Glacier National Park and definitely worth 5 stars. We needed a pet friendly place for our frenchie and this place really was worth the money. For the price we paid, we stayed in a room right next to the main office/lobby. There are 2 units here and we figured it's to keep the dogs away from the other guests who are staying in the main 2-level inn (looks like a motel with log cabin flare). We liked our stay here. Easy parking right outside our place, with plasma screen tv, double queen beds, small fridge and microwave and coffee maker and hairdryer. The shower was decent and the beds were comfortable. The place was super cozy and you turn on the heater for 15 min and that'll keep you comfortable all night. The big thing for me was the room was quiet. We rarely heard the people next door (only heard the dog collar jingling a few times). The 2 units has an adjoining door so if you want connecting rooms, maybe you'll get lucky and get these two. The morning of our departure, we missed muffin morning by over 1.5 hours but when I asked, the manager kindly grabbed a bunch and wrapped it to go! It was really kind. This place also has RV park with showers, cabins (provide your own linens) and looks like the set up for teepees in the summer so it can meet anyone's travel needs. Adirondack chairs and patio seats in the front lawn and just sit and relax. Honestly, we paid over 3 times the price staying at Yellowstone in a hotel with thin walls right before we arrived here - this place is worth it. Short drive to west entrance of GNP and 20 min easy drive to Kalispell, one of the biggest cities in that part of Montana. A&W practically 3 min walking (we got a root beer float our first night!). This isn't a major chain hotel/resort. This isn't vegas and it's not meant to be fancy. It's a family run business, is basic but is a comfortable stay while being close to a popular national park. We've stayed at far worse places while on our road trip across the U.S. for over twice the cost so with all factors taken into account, I think they deserve the 5 stars. read more

You get what you pay for. Not the most expensive or the cheapest accommodations in the West Glacier area, and not the worst or the best place to stay either, but definitely closer to worst. The first impression was The Amityville Horror, with thousands of moths gathering around the windows. Some made it through the wall air conditioners into the room, but thankfully not many. The rooms were clean enough. The front desk staff was actually quite nice. One of the groundskeepers looked quite scary (as in felon scary). Would not stay here again, that's for sure. read more

very upset here! this place advertised for a certain room/studio apt i am in that it has wifi...well maybe... but no matter what i did and tried...no matter where i tried from within the room... and at the door and window...hours wasted...it (computer) said no internet!! so here i sit for hours, in front of the building, in the parking lot, in my car, on a rainy day... extremely uncomfortable... just to get wifi to my laptop computer ---for which i have had absolutely no troubles anywhere else at all! western says it is my computer! {for the previous 2 weeks i was at rocky mountain hi campground [great place!] ... a ways from the office ... every day in my tent... wifi right away and never ever an issue or problem...} here every day... no wifi!! i need it to do work! i have to drive around the parking lot and hopefully find the right place and angle that it will work! not good!! love to be just in my room on bed or at table more comfortably! susan cotton PS...THIS ISSUE HAPPENS IN RAIN AND SUNSHINE AND CLOUDS! I haven't even gotten to the hotel yet but want to rave about my great customer experience. I had originally booked four months ago for an August stay with my best friend from high school through Hotels.com, but about five weeks ago I found out my son would be on leave from the Coast Guard and would be able to join us. I reached out to Hotels.com and they said that the hotel was booked so I couldn't get another room. They said if I tried to make any changes I would most likely lose my reservation. I was frustrated but thought oh well. Then just this week, I thought let me reach out directly to the hotel and see if they could get a rollaway or a cot in the room. I spoke to Jesika. She did even better, she said I would only have to have the tiny room for one day and then they could move us into a bigger room. I hung up and then Jesika called me back in about an hour and said they just had a cancellation and would I now want a bigger suite for my entire stay. Hurrah! What wonderful thoughtful service.
