Our two guides knew the area extremely well and took care of everything on the trip, which allowed us to focus on reeling in 18 fish total - all of which were trout. They even filleted all the fish for us on the boat before we left, which was very appreciated since I don't know the first thing about handling fish. In full disclosure I do not like eating fish at all, but the experience of being out on Flathead Lake with experienced guides that know the history of the land well was more valuable to me than the fish we caught. So even if you don't like fish, it's a great way to be on the water, to hang out with friends, and to learn a lot about the area. And to have such experienced guides taking care of the essentials made it immeasurably more enjoyable.

We took home two nice-sized lake trout and filleted them for dinner - they were delicious! We did catch a whitefish, but it was too small to bring home. Mark handled everything including all of the necessary gear, permits, and training needed to have a great day. Mark is amazing at helping you learn the correct casting technique and was very patient with his coaching. I really appreciated learning about the area where we were including all of the wildlife we saw and about fish feeding patterns and how river currents work. Everything was safe and most important, fun! It's always exhilarating catching a fish but the whole experience was a gem. Cannot recommend them enough if you are new or if you have a ton of experience and just want to have an epic day! It was wonderful to be on airplane mode and just in nature, chatting about the area, and learning something new. Cost for the day is totally fair and all you need to do is enjoy.

When I spoke with the lady at the fly shop, I said "I'd like to catch fish and enjoy amazing…read morescenery." "Well call Mark at Wild Montana Anglers" was her advice. Glad I took that advice. I went out two days with Mark, both yielded amazing fishing with a scenic backdrop like no other. Turns out there was more, apparently there was a nice hatch happening, it had just started and started early. I didn't have the fly and didn't know of the hatch, but Mark did and tied some flies for our trip. The cutthroat couldn't stay off the fly! This was my sons first trip flyfishing. Mark was beyond patient and proved to be a great teacher. He caught fish after fish after fish. Such gorgeous cutthroat from beginning of the day until the end (both days). I also caught more fish than can be counted and learned so much from Mark in our two days on the water. Mark has since helped me out a lot with tips and tricks whenever I reach out. He's been great! The scenery was like the fishing -second to none. There were so many moments I had to pinch myself. I was floating through Glacier on the Flathead catching fish. Daydreaming and watching the Eagles I was fine to to just float, but no! Interrupted by another trout striking my line, time to bring it in and out the line out! Before booking, I was a little hesitant, it's not cheap to hire out a guide. However, at the end of the second day, I felt like I had actually received a great deal! This was supposed to be a once in a lifetime experience, but I've decided that I'll have to go back and do it again! Thanks Mark and look forward to the next trip!

Ava…read morechecked us in at the corral and was friendly providing info about the horses we would be riding and some of the other horses in the corral. My friend and I shared our guide Abigail Lichens on Stormy with a mother on Sonny and daughter on Otto. I rode Nightlinger and my friend was on Mugshot. All of the horses were well cared for and really good looking horses. They had their own personalities; they like to snack and rub against trees and branches along the trail, even though we did our best to keep them from snacking and going off trail. There was a fallen tree on the trail that the horses navigated around fairly easily. Abigail informed the people at the corral about the fallen tree to have it cleared and filled us in about plants, wildlife, trees and the area. She was friendly and very helpful. Her first priority was safety. All of us had a fantastic time.

A little difficult to navigate using All Trails, as the Sun Point trail…read moreincludes Baring but not the other two, while St. Mary and Virginia has a gap in between and doesn't include Baring, Otherwise, the trail is great. Lots of burned tree remnants remind you of the dangers of forest fires. The three waterfalls are all beautiful. We saw a mama moose and her calf on a sand bank behind the water, and others saw a grizzly bear Baring not long after we were there.
