I had a bad reaction to an infusion which made my eye blurry. I called Glacier Eye Clinic at 8am (when they opened) and they got me in at 9:40. I saw a wonderful doctor -- Dr. Marie Roach -- who took care of everything. I had inflammation in the eye which can be quite dangerous, but she gave me treatment, reassured me, had me back in twice (at my request) and got me on the plane to see my grandchildren in record time. At one point I needed help during a holiday weekend and was able to reach an answering service and the doctor on call within minutes. Really great service, support, and care. read more

I have been going there for over 10 years. I have seen Dr. Olsen for everything. As my nearsightedness worsened with age, my farsightedness improved (a natural occurrence), and he helped me adjust my contacts so that I didn't have to wear cheater glasses to read and still had descent far vision. I called and asked 3 times if they took my insurance, they said they would file the claim and they might not be "in network". The annual visit was alright, but they insisted on getting my health insurance info (I have a different ins for vision). They wouldn't listen, so they submitted to ins. Of course, it came back and I have to pay the whole bill then do their job and file a claim. Backwards way to do business. NEVER WILL I USE THEM AGAIN! read more

Got a same day appointment to see an optometrist because I was having flashes in my right eye and and everything was ok just normal floaters and no detached retina. But a month later I couldn't see clearly out of my left eye and it was bad. So I got in immediately and they found wet macular degeneration WHAT?? Oh geez... But they told me that wet MD has some great results with injections, oh my!! So I agreed and said how long before an appointment? They said oh no we can do it now. Yikes all happened so fast but it's my eyes!! Very explanatory, lots of dilation and numbing of my eye. Actually painless but felt really weird. Long story short. I've had 4 injections they're 4 weeks apart and I've gone from 20/70 vision in that eye to 20/25 after 4 injections so I'm responding great. Now they've extended me to every 6 weeks and I'm thrilled to have my eyesight improved. The doctors are amazing, staff is really friendly and it is definitely a place to get prompt eye care. read more

As soon as we arrived to Montana my husbands glasses broke and he's pretty much blind without them so it was top priority for us to get them fixed. This clinic was the closest to us and when I called they advised walking right in to the back of the building (with a mask) and they would get him taken care of which was exactly what they did. Not only did they fix his glasses in less than 10 minutes but they didn't charge him and they knew he was a tourist rather than a regular customer. Pretty awesome, I'd give 5 stars if it wasn't for their mask policy. This was the only place in Montana we stepped into that required one. read more

Within the last couple of years I noticed my vision getting blurry,having eyestrain and everything I try to read appearing smaller and having to squint to try to see things near or far.I made an appointment and was seen by Dr.Remington.I expressed to him that having no previous problems with my vision that I was concerned with the noticeable changes in my vision.He did the few usual tests,declared that nothing was amiss,that I simply had presbyopia and instructed me to go get some reader glasses from the drugstore.I finally decided to go get a second opinion and it turns out I have astigmatism and was prescribed glasses.The moment I put the glasses on I could see clearly and I realized Dr.Remington made me suffer for several years due to his misdiagnosis.I will never go back to glacier eye and would never recommend them to anyone. read more

Rude staff on several occasions, sub-par eye exams that all had to be amended, unorganized information retrieval systems that require me to repeat myself constantly, the whole office seems disconnected and staff only concerned half heartedly with whatever their small portion of the operation is. It's a nice building that unfortunately doesn't have the service to match. read more

My daughter had a sudden change in her vision and went to Glacier eye clinic, she got glasses and contacts. She was unhappy having to wear them so she went back to get a counsel on Lasik. They charge her $300 for the counseling and wanted $8000 for the surgery because she already had Lasik in the past. That was outrageous so she went to Missoula for a second opinion and their cost was only $1900 an eye, they told her she had cataracts and couldn't have Lasik surgery, she needed surgery for cataract, I told her to go back to Glacier and tell them about the issue, they totally ignored the fact that her sudden vision loss was something serious and wanted to schedule her for Lasik and charge her twice the amount. Shame on them shame, shame. They should give her the $300 back and apologize for trying to take advantage of her, not to mention they could have damaged her eyes worse. Again shame on Glacier Eye shame, shame. Anyone that wants Lasik go to Rocky mountain eye in Missoula they are a reputable company and won't screw you over and they will be honest with you about the health of your eyes. read more

I had an appointment and was early, checked in and greeted by non-smiling (I hate my job) front desk staff, I was instructed to the waiting area. I waited in the waiting area for about 5 mins, until they called me back. I thought this will be quick. Was there to get an eye exam for new glasses. The nurse said, I can't get an exam for that because I was there for a follow up. Not what I asked for when I called to make appointment. Sat in room for well over 30 mins, was about to leave when Dr. Olsen came in. Not only is he rude and in personable, he made me feel like I was making up the fact that I had issues with my eye for almost a year. After 5 visits (self pay) they still don't know what's going on and keep passing me around to different Dr's in the office. After the rudeness from front desk and him and nurse, I'm done! I'm canceling my next appointment and going elsewhere! Overpriced and snobby. read more

If you have a choice to go elsewhere my recommendation is that you do! Unfortunately I'm not in a situation where I have that option so I make appointments and show up on time only to wait for hours to be seen! I cannot complain about the doctors care once I do finally see him, but I do feel like my time is important too and I don't have all day to sit and wait for 20 minutes with the Dr. If you can't keep up with the patient load why schedule so many people? I have been a patient here for the last ten or so years. I like my doctor, Dr.Remington. Efficient and courteous. Six months ago I came in for my appointment, checked it at the desk and sat down in the waiting room. At first things were very busy. After waiting over three hours I went back up to the desk and they said "we did not know you were here" so I left and rescheduled later. Today (29 June 2018) I tried to pay my bill over the phone. I would have preferred to reach a person that could take my credit card information and pay the bill. Instead, I was directed to an answering machine with a message on how to leave my credit card information to pay the bill. Since I do not know who has access to that answering machine, I hung up. Called back and was told that the only way I could pay my bill was to leave a message so I left a message and later that day (finally) paid the bill. I also checked their website (glaciereye dot com) and did not find any provisions to pay my bill. My conclusion: Great doctors with understaffed support personnel and company policy that does not fully consider the needs of the patient. I took several hours to do something that should have taken five minutes at most. This has happened several times before and I have found it to be more and more annoying to the point that I am considering switching to the Kalispell Vision Center. read more

When I made the appointment I was very clear that I needed to be fitted for glasses the same day as I live two hours away. I was assured that this would not be a problem. The eye exam was fine although they brought a student in without asking me first which seemed odd. Out of four people who assisted me, only the doc introduced himself - rather odd and less than professional. Also odd is that when they called to confirm my appointment, they called from a blocked number so I was a little cold as I was certain it was an unwanted sales call. When I mentioned this during my appointment, I was laughed at - 'why do you care'? Okay, as a professional and business owner, if someone mentioned that something that we said or did made them uncomfortable, I would work to understand the how and why and offer an explanation. When I went out to the lobby after my exam to see about glasses, I was told to go to the counter behind the reception/check out person. I did so and was ignored, then told that they would get to me when they could. I stood there for a few minutes and it was clear that there was no organized way to see who was next as new people walking up were helped ahead of me, even though I was standing there, clearly waiting. So, while I certainly don't expect to be helped immediately, and I am perfectly fine with waiting my turn, the attitude was that I was imposing on them or bothering them, so I decided to leave. It was clear that they didn't have enough staff on hand by a long shot. Honestly I get better service in the mall and I was really hoping that this would be a professional and great experience picking out new frames. To make it worse, I just tried to use the card that they gave me with my prescription to get my glasses elsewhere and they failed to provide me with complete information. When I tried to communicate my concerns to them, I was repeatedly ignored. When I left the review above, they blocked me on Facebook. read more

I never write reviews, but I was so impressed by this clinic that I felt compelled to review it. I was on a road trip far from home when I had worrisome symptoms develop. I found them on Google and called while driving towards Kalispell. They set up an appointment to coordinate with my ETA and squeezed me in. From the front desk, to the medical assistant to the doctor himself (Dr. Barth), everyone was kind, capable, professional and efficient. I have never experienced such a well-run clinic and I only wish they were located in the SF Bay Area so I could return. I highly recommend excellent Dr. Barth and his team. read more

Very friendly professionals and very thorough. I would think twice about having cataract surgery, however. I don't mind that I have to wear progressive eyeglasses after surgery but the increase in the halos, now in daytime also, has made it difficult to see indoors unless I wear sunglasses. I mentioned to both doctors that the halos were increased and my world looks like a bad 3-D movie. It must be normal since no once addressed this. All and all, I highly recommend thinking twice prior to this surgery just to make sure this is what you want. read more

When I complained, 6 weeks later, after they re-checked my eyes, I was told " my body needed to adjust" to them & that the glasses are fine. I am over 60 & I know the prescription is wrong! We first went there from a recommendation and they were a preferred provider with our first insurance. Every time we went, they screwed up the billing. Using wrong codes caused our insurance to reject. Many, many calls, they said they would take care of it....then we get the same bill a month or two or more later. Still not fixed. Changed insurance, we arrive, they take the card and say nothing....they weren't preferred. They knew it, but they figure, "we get paid either way. Who cares is the patient gets stuck with the bill". Calling to get this figured out they simply claim, "well, it's not our fault." They don't give care that you get stuck with the bill. They don't care if they use the wrong codes. They don't care if they are preferred or not and know it. They just want your money. Go to a different place that cares about you and not just money. We're switching today. read more

I was on vacation in Montana when I started seeing flashes of light in my left eye. Unsettled, I first saw an Optometrist in Whitefish who said I had a PVD (Posterior Vitreous Detachment), but recommended I see an Ophthalmologist to make certain. The Glacier Eye Clinic was able to get me in the next afternoon. I was impressed by the care given. Everyone I met was extremely nice and helpful. And not only did I see Dr. Roger Bartha, who was very knowledgeable and possessed a very comforting bedside manner, but he brought in a retinal specialist to confirm his findings and ensure that I did not have a retinal detachment. The office has very current equipment and is new and very clean. Literally the only thing "negative" I could say about the place was that it is extremely busy. The waiting room was filled with people. But despite that, as I said they fit me in promptly and I did not have to wait around very long. I am very thankful to have attended this clinic - they relieved my extreme stress having such a thing happen to me while on vacation so far away from home. I will always appreciate the amount of TLC I was given. read more

we have used Glacier Eye clinic for over 12 years. I have never written a review for them until now. There billing system leaves much to be desired. I paid my bill by check. soon I received the same bill again? I went in showed them that this bill had been paid.{ thought this had been cleared up} I continued to receive this same bill , not wanting to get turned into collections...I just paid the bill a second time. we have a special needs son that change is hard for so we continued to come to Glacier Eye until our recent disappointment. we make our appointments 6 months to a year in advance. we received our appointment reminder which informed us.....to be prepared as we "MIGHT" have a 2 hour wait for our appointment! how unprofessional! I would have preferred that they called and rescheduled if they were backed up that far. My time is no less important than the Dr.'s or Staff at Glacier. More important, if possible I would never make my Autistic Son { or any of my Clients} try to sit in an office for that period of time. read more

They overdosed me on several eye medicines, which left me with bad side effects, including pounding heart so loud it could be picked up on my voice recorder the next day. One interacts with an Rx I was on, which they ignored. After speaking with them over the phone for a month, and they're finally agreeing to use a half percent dose of one necessary dilator for re-exam of torn retina, I got in there and they refused to do so, saying they didn't have it. The attendants were definitely not people oriented. I never got the re-exam needed. They make people wait a good 40 min. past their scheduled app't. time on a regular basis, and then another 20 after giving drops. They do not provide antidote drops for the dilation, do not work with chemically sensitive people - building itself makes me feel ill shortly after entering. Friend was misdiagnosed with macular degeneration there. I have heard multiple other complaints. A neighbor who also went in for retinal tear needed more pain numbing agent, which he did not receive, and it was excruciating for him. Each individual is different, they don't treat you so. They routinely overdose people with more dilating agent than necessary. I will not go back. read more

I am from out of state and had an emergency eye issue. They worked in over lunch. The staff was wonderful, friendly, kind and reassuring. Dr. Alme was was great, easy going and made you feel relaxed.
