I have been looking for someone to dye my hair for a while. My stylist is in Cali and she is older, so not too much experience with dying hair. I live in Savannah and was willing to commute for the right person. I found Salon PK on IG. I called and inquired about getting my hair done. I spoke with Tatiyana and she told me I could come in that day to have a consultation. I told her I was out of town for work until mid January. She asked some questions about my hair and she said that we can set up a virtual consult. She got my number and said that she will be sending me a message to send her some pictures of my hair then she will set up a virtual consult. One week later, I heard nothing from Tatiyana or the salon. I tried to give grace because it was around the holidays. I called again and spoke to a young lady at the desk. She reassured me she would have Tatiyana call me back. Tatiyana called me back and no apologies or anything for the lack of communication. Now Tatiyana says I have to come in for a consult and she picked which stylist would be best for me. Never seen this stylist work and how could she pick what stylist is best for me when she knows nothing about my hair. I then asked would I be able to get my hair done when I come in for a consult and she said I might but can't guarantee it. I had high hopes for this salon but when someone shows you who they are at the beginning, believe them.

I originally found this salon after another place completely ruined my hair. I was desperate, and Mara took me the SAME DAY, without an appointment, on a Friday. She stayed until 9 PM fixing my hair! That tells you everything about the kind of person and professional she is. I 100% recommend Hair Unlimited Salon. I was pissed because they were charging me $100 more because of the volume/length of my hair. I ended up paying $500. I told them it was a terrible job, so they asked me if I could come the next day to fix it. I did. They did a better job but not what I expected. Harsh lines, it wasn't blended, a completely mess. Braiding can take awhile and when others are done they aid one another. Every tech was licensed and every head looked beautiful. I just had to schedule a day. Sundays are appointment only - but I was told to pop in and check either way. On slow days they will gladly take a walk in. But today was just to busy for me to even ask - gotta have a nice playlist and good book for the hours of sitting that are ahead. Spent a few $100 for hours of work and rock a great style for several months. Prices are about average for the area. Many of the clients were regulars and one was recommended by a friend. Word of mouth goes a long way.

When the owner got there, she asked who had done my braids and how long my hair was, even though she had personally removed my braids on a previous occasion. She then informed me that she did not have time to remove them because she had somewhere else to be. She attempted to call the stylist, but the stylist did not answer. The entire experience was extremely unprofessional and inconsiderate. If no one was available or willing to perform the service, I should have been informed much earlier rather than being left waiting for an hour and forty-five minutes. My time is valuable, and I was disappointed by the lack of communication, organization, and respect for a scheduled appointment.

I never complained publicly before because I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but this experience was completely different and honestly unacceptable. I went in asking for the exact same color I had the last time after it was corrected previously. I booked a full highlight and root touch-up. I'm blonde with a little strawberry tone and some low lights . Instead, my roots were turned bright red while my highlights came out white/gray and extremely uneven. My roots are still dark in areas as well. I also had my eyebrows tinted like I always do, but this time they came out horrible. When I politely pointed out that my roots looked bright red and my hair looked brassy, the stylist immediately became defensive and tried to tell me "it's the same as last time" and that my "eyebrows are basically blonde." Instead of listening to my concerns, she became aggressive while fixing it by yanking my head and pulling my hair roughly when she attempted to fix it my hair turned out like this ( see photos) it's still no where near good. I left the appointment crying in my car. I recently had surgery and just wanted to feel pretty again, and this experience made me feel the complete opposite. I also want to mention how uncomfortable the salon environment is in general. Every time I've been there, most of the stylists openly talk badly about clients after they leave -- calling women fat, ugly, and tearing apart their appearances. The only person I did not witness participating was a blonde woman with shoulder-length hair. Today, before an elderly client even arrived, the owner, Teresa, was speaking negatively about her to the staff, talking about how she "hates" the client, criticizing her personal habits, and mocking the woman's husband for attending appointments with her. The client even brought Teresa a turquoise bracelet as a thoughtful gift, and after she left, Teresa continued making fun of her for that as well. A salon should be a place where women feel uplifted and confident, not judged and humiliated. I think professionalism, consistency, and kindness matter in this industry, and unfortunately I did not experience any of those things here. They did give me a refund but I am still posting this because even with a refund it's still completely unacceptable and the stylist didn't even apologize for completely messing everything up)
