Lauren did awesome! I've been getting my haircut here for several years. Excellent and professional every time. The staff is so friendly there and it is a great atmosphere. Worst experience ever. I made an appointment last Wednesday to get my hair colored Friday morning. All was great, I'm new to town. I walked in and a lady showed me around. Very friendly. I had an appointment with a girl named Lauren whom I had spoke with over the phone about having experience with highlights and bleach. Lauren and I spoke about the picture/color I wanted and she was like your hair is perfect for this...I already knew from previous experience it shouldn't be a problem. Lauren then proceeded to lay foils in my hair and not estimating the color/hair ratio. My hair came out very dark and uneven on sides and a yellow/golden/orange on top. I looked like a skunk. It looked like a home job as if I went to color it myself and missed big chunks and put to much on the top and it is just awful. I mentioned this to her. So she tried to even out the colors and put foils/bleach on my hair again. She blow dried it, straightened it and I paid 160.00, Was not ugly, left and cried all day. I put my trust in this girl. She bleached my hair twice with in 2 hours. I still left looking like a skunk. Uneven color. My hair looks like trailer park trash. This weekend I was absolutely embarrassed couldn't wear it up to uneven. It's to gold to wear it down. Had to wear a hat. Today is Monday I'm laying here in bed at 2:30am. I have a job interview in the morning and any other time I would be confident in going. But I'm embarrassed. I want to start crying again. I am a nurse with another full time job. so I wear my hair up and I'm ashamed to go anywhere. Worst hair color experience I have ever had. Will not go back. Unfortunately I don't have another 160.00 to have it fixed so Glamaorama will be getting all the credit on this. Pictures posted. read more

It's been a good while since I've had a salon I'm happy with and Glamorama fits the bill! It's a serious salon with a lot of fun in the decor. Prices are very reasonable for the quality. I pay $40 before tip for a cut. They do offer product for purchase and I believe they do makeup and private parties also. I see Brandy and have been very happy. I've also met the owner, who was eager to show me around when I fist stopped in to check the place out. In fact, all of the staff has been very friendly and helpful. So, it's a great place for good, reasonable services, but what sets it apart as special is the decor. The whole place is done 50s retro. Barbie. Lots of pink & aqua and silver gilding. There's a killer deco mirror over the fireplace in the "waiting area" as well as a neat collection of 50s Barbie memorobelia. Maybe the capstone is the my-size Barbie taking a dip in a tub full of Christmas balls in the bathroom. With all that, it could be terribly tacky, but isn't. They did a great job of balancing a theme with taste and it's a mood lifter just to be there! I know I'll keep returning. read more

I have been a client of Lauren for over a year. She colors my hair every 5-6 weeks. From the first day I met her, she has been so kind, a great listener, and always does my hair perfect. I've watched the other ladies in the shop work and I can honestly say that I would feel completely at ease with anyone in this shop doing my hair. I love Glamorama! We have been coming here since they opened 10 years ago. There are 4 stylists: Brandy, Sherri, Lauren, and Kristi (who is the owner). Brandy has been doing my hair since I was 4 years old. I'm now 23! We followed her from her last salon. I've had my hair done by all 4 stylists and have NEVER been unsatisfied with any of them. They have done my hair for special occassions like prom, sorority formals, and potentially even my wedding coming up in May. I started getting highlights at a young age, and they have given me what I want every time. I trust every stylist at this salon to work on my hair! read more

Had my first appointment today. Well I guess I should have. Made an appointment a little over a week ago to get my hair done. Showed up at 9:30 my appointment was at 9:45. I hate being late or rushing when I get to a place. 10 o'clock rolls around and they decide to give me a tour of the salon. It's in a old house so it wasn't that big I walked around it already while I was waiting. Did I mention the tour included the waiting area with products in it? Ya know the one I have already been sitting in for 30 minutes and had already looked at. It is a cute salon but needs a few things. The 60s style couches that you sink all the way to the floor in should be thrown out very uncomfortable and the bubble gum pink wall paint with stains on it needs to be redone. Am I being picky? Maybe but I had nothing else to look at for the 50 minutes I was there. 10:20 rolls around and I tell the receptionist I'm leaving. She tells me my stylist is almost done. I look back and she's only just started blow drying her client who has thick hair than me. My hair takes a good 20 minutes if not more to dry and then add a style in then your talking another 30-40 minutes. The said then was I never received a apology. I can understand maybe 15 minutes. Offer me something to keep me there which they didn't. Highly recommend not going here unless your a regular, new clients receive no respect. They might do beautiful hair but I wouldn't know I was special enough to receive any service. read more
