Our family always enjoys taking classes and learning new techniques with Russ and Brit. We are a family of four-two teenage sons(15,17), and we make it a point to stop in every year on our Florida vacation. They are taking every precaution during this crazy Covid time to keep their patrons safe. If you've never tried your hand at glass work you're missing out. Stop in for classes with the most knowledgeable and patient artists. You'll be glad you did! They offer fusing classes, flame working classes and glass blowing(maybe not this particular one at this time but you can ask as things are fluid during this time). I had SOOO much fun making a glass paperweight at Gilbert Glassworks. Brit is a terrific instructor who thoughtfully walked me through the process, starting with safety instruction, exercises to get a feel for working with glass, and finally making my actual paperweight. The studio is clean and very well stocked. This was such an interesting way to treat myself; well worth the $150 fee. I booked a private furnace class for my wife as a surprise on her birthday. As soon as we walked in, the friendliness and sincerity of Russ and Brit was obvious. They took the time to get to know us and find out what my wife wanted to create. The entire process was fun and challenging. My wife was giggling the entire ride home about how much she enjoyed it. Russ at Gilbert Glassworks was an amazing teacher that made the whole experience even more amazing! His studio/warehouse is clean, professional and spacious! He is patient, kind and a great artist. This experience was phenomenal. Brit could not have been a better teacher. We left with gorgeous paperweights and learned the process of furnace glass work. The studio is interesting and we would definitely return to take more classes when we are in town. It was so cool to actually create a piece of art after learning about this craft. Had a fantastic experience here in September. We took a glassworking class (paperweights), and our group of 3 had the place to ourselves and LOVED the experience. The instructor was fantastic, friendly, and knowledgeable. We felt that we got more "hands on" time than we expected to, which is awesome. Bri was amazing to work with. She gave us plenty of time to get use to working with the glass and tools. Then we talked over what project we wanted to do and worked with us on what colors we wanted. She had fantastic advice. Once we got to working on our project it was teamwork to make the project turn out wonderful. This is definitely something to do while you're in the area. read more

The coral bowl fusing class is amazing! Brit is a fantastic teacher and very knowledgeable about glassworks and the properties of glass. She was flexible with me scheduling the class to allow me to accomplish something off my bucket list while I was on vacation last week. We took the Glass Furnace class with Brit as our instructor. The class and Brit was fun, informative and inspiring. We attended the coral bowl workshop and I cannot express how wonderful this experience was. Not only did we have a great class, but we were also shown pieces in progress, and told about their Gallery (Fusion) in Seaside. We popped over there and purchased a few pieces!
