Second time back and the water keeps getting more beautiful. The water was too cold for surfing but we enjoyed watching the dolphins at Crab Island. It was very relaxing. Tyler took us over to Harbor Walk for a quick bite to eat. He definitely is familiar with things that people enjoy and where they might like to visit. read more

We decided to rent from this company because the previous year things went smoothly. First mistake. The owner told us that he would blow up our floats for us, so we left our electric pump at our condo. When we arrived he wasn't even there and there was a girl that worked for a different company helping us and he told her to use a leaf blower to blow up our floats. Which, fyi, didn't work at all. We ended up wasting so much time trying to get our floats blown up. Finally, the girl helps us using the other companies pump. She tells us that he will be there when we get back. When we got back to the dock, he still was not there and it was her helping us again. He had, also, given her a speaker to give to us to use and it didn't even last us the short stent of our four hour trip. At least the boat was nice and was MODERATELY clean. read more

RENTER BEWARE!! We live locally and have given all of our rental business to Surf N Pontoons for the last several years in an effort to help this young business work out its kinks and succeed, but it's ALWAYS A DISASTER! I'M DONE!! Two seasons ago, my young daughter's Crab Island b-day party was a nightmare when we were given a boat with no working radio, a frayed Lily Pad tether cord that busted in the first 10 minutes of use, and more... only to return to them with 10 disappointed little girls and having lead company crew member scream, cuss, practically assault me when making him aware of the issues and requesting the owner's contact info. Tyler's business partner initially took full responsibility and offered to make it right the very next season, but apparently, He and Tyler parted business ways, and the partner is now a "part-time employee." Wanting to give them another chance, we rented again and had the same type of issues, and we had to call them and wait for them to come out to Crab Island and replace the tattered floating Lily Pad and busted tether, etc. Tyler then gave the sad saga that he had fired everybody and changed company names to Surf N Pontoon because of the bad reputation, and begged for another chance, offering a free rental next time if we'd come back. Came back and voluntarily paid the full price once again on a new double deck w/slide combo, only to have similar issues once again. 3/22/24 Tyler promised a free rental since we never took him up on it before, except this time, I felt more than justified and fed up, but I just went to redeem the promise and was told to pay 50%. I'm not one to eat 3/4 of a steak and then complain in an effort to get my meal comped, but enough is enough, and I was trying to stay faithful as he explained he borrowed all the investment money from his dad and trying not to fail & lose it. Being a business owner myself, I respect that as well as try to support the little guys and local small businesses, but now he says he fired his entire staff again for the 3rd time that I'm aware of, and I am starting to wonder if the problem lies in the leadership, not EVERYONE ELSE and clients. This may work with out-of-towners on vacation who just ruin their one time here visiting, but as a local seeing and experiencing the repetitious issues & excuses, I just want to pay our money and enjoy our day on the water without any issues moving forward... Good luck should you choose to ignore this warning. read more

He also called every shot as we approached the fishing spot. First off we caught our bait, which took only about 10 minutes and was fun for my wife and daughter. Then we motored to our first spot where Spanish mackerel were boiling the water. The action was fast paced and didn't take long for the entire family to feel the fight. Then we went to our second spot, an inshore reef where we free lined bait and caught some really nice king mackerel. My wife caught the biggest and she was proud. Our third spot was for amberjacks. WOW!!! Is all I can say, they pull Iike a freight train, which again we all got to try our hand at hoisting one in. After we had enough of them fighting, we were on to try grouper. Unfortunately we never got the bait to them, the trigger fish were wearing us out, but they were fun too. We also caught Bonito along the way. Our last stop was for bull reds on our way in. We were not planning to keep fish because we were in a hotel, but Captain Brian recommended keeping some and having The Original Water Front Crab Shack cook them for us. He cleaned them and we took them there for lunch. They cooked some up blackened and fried for us and they were awesome! Great ending to a really great day! Thank you Captain Brian!!!

Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. We paid over $250 to spend just a few hours at the park before storms rolled in around 2:30 p.m. By about 4:00, the skies had cleared--but the park never reopened. With two full hours left in the published schedule, and clear weather outside, the day was over. I reached out to management, which is when the situation really took a turn for the worst. Their proposal - a rain check for a future visit. Problem is--we came all the way from Colorado. A "come back next time" credit just isn't helpful when you've spent that kind of money and have no plans to return. We've visited waterparks in multiple states--Arizona, Texas, Colorado--and have never experienced this kind of early closure after a storm passed. Most parks resume operations when it's safe. Not here. Beyond that: You're not allowed to bring in your own water, which is a challenge on hot Alabama days. Several lifeguards at the wave pool seemed more focused on chatting and flirting than on guest safety. The park itself feels a bit rundown and in need of investment. This may once have been the place to go in Orange Beach. But based on our experience, I'd suggest exploring other options for your family day. There are better values--and more responsive customer service--elsewhere. Incidentally, I made numerous attempts to resolve this issue with management, to no avail. They were unwilling to help and (eventually) completely unresponsive.

I apologized and asked if there was a way for him to leave it for me and he said YES! He locked it up and sent the combination to the lock. Ya'll I had not even had a chance to pay him yet! Captain Tyler and his crew were phenomenal--Tyler's skill and enthusiasm kept the vibe upbeat, while deckhand Jordan shared cool insights about the local marine life and made sure everyone was having fun. I had such a great time wakeboarding and surfing for the first time! I was honestly a bit nervous going in since I'd never tried either before, but the instructor made it such an easy and fun experience. He's a great teacher -- super patient, clear with instructions, and really encouraging the whole time. You can tell he knows what he's doing and actually cares about helping you improve. I was up on the board way quicker than I expected, and by the end, I felt way more confident. Everything was well set up, the boat and gear were great, but what really made the experience was how supportive and knowledgeable he was. If you're new to wakeboarding or surfing, this is 100% the best way to try it. read more

Great boat, fun stop at Crab Island and he's now our Go-To for a day on the water! He clearly loves the and is so knowledgeable about the area, took us to a great spot for relaxing on the lily pad and fun on the slide. Just called him about our upcoming Spring Break trip. He also does jet surf lessons and our kids had a great time. We even saw dolphins swimming alongside our boat on the way back! Highly recommend Surf N Pontoons. My girlfriends and I rented a pontoon complete with a captain so we could fully enjoy our time out at crab island. Dane kept us safe while we had a wonderful time. He is very mindful and funny to boot. We had a blast drinking our white claws, soaking up the sun and splashing around in the water. Captian Dane was the most integral part of our trip because we got to have fun and get drunk while having somekne make sure we stayed safe and that we make it back to the docks safely. The double decker with two slides is hands down the most fun you can have out at Crab Island -- me and the guys couldn't stop laughing the entire day. Me and my family did the Ultimate Crab Island + Extreme Watersport Package and it was definitely a great experience! Crab Island was beautiful, we saw dolphins and we experienced wakeboarding which was the highlight of the trip for me and my sons! I'd give 10 stars if I could! Highly recommend! read more

We had an amazing trip to crab island with Tyler as our boat captain! We had a double decker pontoon with a slide & it was super fun. Tyler had a speaker for us & set out a lily pad for us to lounge on. Our group had so much fun & would highly recommend for anyone! We will for sure use again! read more

We had an amazing trip to crab island for our bachelorette trip, we had a double decker pontoon WITH A SLIDE!! Tyler was very accommodating and made our trip amazing. He even warded off the jellyfish and took our pictures the whole time! Highly recommend!! We cannot wait to come back! read more

Honestly had a great time this mother's day weekend. Got to go to crab island on a double decker with a waterslide with the family. Everyone had a blast got to see dolphins and the guys were really down. Honestly give them a 10 out of 10. read more
