They came and inspected the windows and gave me a quote of $424.xx in May (I clearly remember because it was a lot of money, so I called them and asked to break it down for me). They came and fixed the window glass in few weeks and repaired the screen. However they kept getting the wrong opening/closing part (more than 3 times), so ultimately the job was finished in September. Now I get the invoice from them and it is $506.xx . I called and asked for an explanation and they say this is what they have on file. The person I interacted with in May over phone is not there any more. New employee keeps telling me that she only has $506 in file. I like the work they did, though it took the whole summer for them to finish the job. And now they are charging me way more than quoted, which is really unprofessional. I am going to pay the money but I am definitely not going to back to Superior glass.

He came to our house every day and worked steadily through to completion, removing and recycling old cabinets and appliances, adding some cabinet trim, redoing plumbing and electrical, replacing a window, sanding and painting and all other aspects of the project other than the floor which was subcontracted to another company on Jeff's recommendation. In addition to general carpentry skills, which were superb, Jeff had a good eye for colors, symmetry, and other details that might otherwise have escaped us. When we ran into occasional hiccups with local vendors, he provided a calming perspective and sound advice on how to remedy situations. He was also attentive to issues related to dust management; putting up lots of cloths to contain dust as best as it could be done. We think one advantage was that Jeff is a one man show with no subcontractors have to coordinate with. Had we known ahead of time, we'd have just had him do the floor as well; we just didn't know he was so talented in so many areas. All things considered, we would hire Jeff again in a heartbeat. And if we were to do another kitchen, we would be sure to do it in the summer or early fall because the process really does leave you with no place to fix food in your home for a long time. Fortuitously, we started in late August and finished just before the snow started to fly; thus we were able to operate a small food prep site (microwave, countertop, fridge) in the garage and also barbecue outdoors frequently.

The whole job was completed rapidly, allowing more than enough for the driveway to completely dry by evening. A couple of cracks did not completely fill so they came back two days later and redid these cracks, and even added a bit more sealer on 20% of the driveway at no additional cost. I am pleased to strongly recommend Pete's Absolute Asphalt. The work I was able to inspect (I did not go on the roof) was exactly how I had hoped it would be, straight, well sealed and overall professional looking. Bob (the owner) was helpful especially with the initial diagnosis of the problem, even when it looked like we were going to do a different solution which would not involve chimney work. However in the end we ended up going the chimney repair route to solve our issue. It was about a 3 week wait to get my work done. It was not an emergency situation and would imagine they have provisions in there schedule for stuff like that, however that was the wait time for my job. They arrived on time and did the work within the estimate. The hourly rate is not cheap. However, I did check with one other chimney service company and their hourly rate was within a few dollars so I expect this is the going rate for this type of skilled professional labor. In the end I am very satisfied with the work they did.
