Pretty store, lots to look at and very pretty items...but my partner and I did feel very uncomfortable with one of the workers. Tall lady with glasses kept starring and watching us while we shopped around. I don't know if it's cause we look young or the fact that we are brown I'm not sure it could be both. I've never set foot in the store, but have bought online and have always been thoroughly pleased. Sure, some items can be pricey, but it's one of those "get what you pay for" things. Their selection is tastefully curated and you're paying for specific aspects of durability, quality, and fit (as opposed to stores that expect you to just pay a "branding tax" like a chump). I've also been impressed by their ability to keep certain items in stock that seem to have run out just about everywhere else worldwide! Above all, their customer service is second to none. They're not only prompt with any questions and concerns, but go above and beyond when stuff happens. I had snags with two orders in a row (neither were their fault - one was a shipping fluke, courtesy of USPS, and another an exchange for a different item) and they were kind and supremely helpful. Cutest, most stylish store ever or what? A friend and I stumbled in here after lunch and woah, the minute I walked in, they had me at hello. I swear every corner was an Instagram worthy photo op waiting to happen complete with a giant stuffed bear (the real kind, not the toy). They had succulents, women's clothes, men's clothes, soaps, home goods; basically all the cute things juxtaposed against lovely brick walls. Let's say it together now, aesthetics. Glasswing had me at hello. The moment I walked in I was mesmerized. Not even 5 minutes in the store and I wanted to buy everything. The store is located right across Taylor's Shellfish, beware you could miss it. The entrance pulls you in with different shades of beautiful greenery, plants and lovely succulents. They also carry many unique things - I was surprised I saw books, candles, clothing and more. The layout reminds me of a boho-chic clothing boutique/apartment with a plant nursery. Super aesthetic and sophisticated. We originally stopped by because of the plants, they have a vast variety and the plants are excellent. This is somewhere I will repeatedly recommend, shop and visit. The staff was super friendly and helpful with any questions we had, very informative with plant care. The only con is parking! Glasswing is easy to miss but hard not to walk out with something cute and unique. The store entrance is directly across from Taylor Shellfish. My first impression from the outside is of a floral shop however I was surprised at how much more they carry. They also have trinkets, plants, clothing, and other items perfect for home or office. The floor layout reminds me of Anthropologie. They have a decent selection of scented candles, cocktail accessories, and coffee table books. I found a beautiful brass double jigger as part of a Valentine's Day gift. The prices are reasonable given the uniqueness of the products. The cashier was very friendly and helpful. From our brief conversation I found out that Brakish Design is the sister company of Glasswing. Their offices are located of the store. While in Seattle during my recent vacay, I landed upon this gem while exploring Capitol Hill and of course status post Starbucks reserve. This store is the most aesthetically pleasing space you will ever lie your eyes upon. As soon as you walk in - it's as if you walked into a boho apartment in New York filled with plants. This space has tons of different plants ranging from air plants to succulents - shout out to the plant moms out there! I got my hands on some beautiful airplants. I checked out a few of their clothing Ana accessories however didn't get anything. The store itself may be pricey. If you are willing to spend, I definitely think this is the place. Very cute Clothing items and the people were very helpful. Can't wait to come to Seattle and visit again. I was probably in Glasswing for less than five minutes, but I was smitten right off the bat. I've been looking around for the perfect terrarium to complete my living room and I was about to give up hope... until I stepped into Glasswing and saw it right in front of me by their terrarium display. I kid you not - walked in, saw the display and asked the lady working there if I could take the terrarium home. I was on my way to a function, so she carefully wrapped everything in bubble wrap so that nothing would break. It got home safely without a scratch! Great service and amazing items. If you are looking for a more minimalist design focused plant shop, Glasswing is for you. However, there is one caveat that I will get to later. The store layout is great because it creates a very intuitive shopping experience. Not that you will be on your own because the staff here are great at making a quick intro and answering any questions you have and leaving you alone if you are just browsing or taking your time to make a decision. Also, Glasswing always seems to have a plant expert on hand to answer any of your questions and if they don't they will reach out to someone at their sister store down the street. We've been very happy with all of our purchases here. All the plants have been super healthy and looked much better than the same plant from other places we looked. I will say, however, you pay for this perfection, which for me is worth it. read more

The plants in the front are what grabbed our attention and when we walked in we were pleasantly surprised! They have a huge assortment of plants and plant care for purchase (the woman behind the counter was super knowledgeable and was able to tell us all about the planets, what each one like (sunlight, watering, etc plant care)). In addition to plants they got Womens and mens clothing (it's expensive but good quality) and the organic beauty items. Overall, the people who work there are super friendly, it's a great vibe and very pleasant store. I'll be back to grab myself some more beautiful plants!! read more

I heart Glasswing. It's a pity that I do not live closer though I bet my wallet feels fortunate. Glasswing will forever be a must-visit whenever I'm in Seattle. So, thank goodness they have an online shop. They have a great assortment of clothing (and plants!) for every person and is laid out in a way that makes you want to explore every item. The store has a very welcoming ambience and is not pretentious at all. The staff is so friendly and courteous, taking the time to chat beyond helping you with the clothing. But not in that over the top "leave me alone" way. They're fantastic. Parking can be tough but well worth it to spend time here and in the neighboring restaurants. read more

Found the pot I was looking for so I could plant my succulents, but when we got there at opening and when the woman came to open the door and put the sign outside she pretended we weren't there. Love this shop and all of the staff. Came here on recommendation from a friend to add some plants to our apartment and had such a pleasant experience here browsing, learning and picking out plants. We came in with a very rough idea of wanting to build a terrarium and found multiple staff members so helpful in giving us advice on what types of plants work well together, what care instructions we needed, and what additional elements we needed to buy. The team was super knowledgeable about plants and offered to even build the terrarium for us (though that was the point of our project) or to help us to ensure we set our new plants up for success. We ended up with a fern and few other small terrarium plants, a pink maranta and a red rubber tree, plus everything we needed to make our plants happy. They have soil, sand, rocks, and moss in the back, so, even if you don't see everything you need for your new plants out, they may have more that they can get you in the back, and, we found the prices to be super reasonable. And, I can vouch for this shop because a month and a half later, our plants are flourishing nicely! read more

Glasswing was a nice, chic clothing store we went to recently in the Capitol Hill area. They have some very nice men's shirts as well as plants you can buy and arrange in glass pots to hang. They have some candles here which have magnificent scents to them. All of the merchandise is of good quality. There is a full sized mounted bear in the back of the store so if you have tunnel vision and run into it while walking around you might be in for a slight shock! Yikes! Can I live here? Industrial yet homey space with lots of plants and linen. The clothes are pricey but unique in an understated way. My boyfriend ended up splurging on a vintage-looking buttondown; the women's clothing was a little boho for me. The plants and home goods are more reasonably priced, and I scored some crystals at $6 each. Nice selection of barware, jewelry, and skincare. The salespeople were helpful but not overbearing. Hidden gem of a store! I had initially ordered flowers off of there website WildBloomFloral.com... which is incredibly stunning in itself. So when I walked into the store to pick them up, I expected to find Floral shop. It is far from that.. it's a unique mix of plant/clothing/jewelry boutique with a cool boho vibe. The staff are amazing! Tassy helped to ensure my order was as fresh as possible for the day I needed them. The real star however is the owner Kristen, he's absolutely fabulous! I was lucky enough to meet him. You can see the passion in his work and how meticulous his arrangements are. Visited Melrose Market today to look for sweet, unique Christmas gifts for my family. I am on a tight budget, so that makes it hard to shop local sometimes, but Melrose Market usually has at least a couple of nice things that I can afford. On my way out, a new-to-me shop sign caught my eye: Glasswing. I had to check it out! It's a very Capitol Hill store, that's for sure. I say that lovingly and without judgment - I adore the aesthetic of bare wood, metal, and concrete. Filament bulbs abound. It smells like artisanal soy candles. That whole pseudo-rustic vibe really works for me, and Glasswing is all about that. Lots of well-made, beautiful things in this store. I had particular things in mind (and the aforementioned tight budget) so I didn't walk out with much, but I coveted quite a few of their goods - small, delicate glass terrariums with wispy air plants inside; a sturdy pocketknife with wooden handle; thick, woolen blankets; mason jar cocktail shakers. Lots of things that are beautiful for beauty's sake, and other things that are lovely and also utilitarian. Your hipster chic camping trip will be beautifully outfitted. They're a pretty new shop, and still growing into themselves. Many items in the store have no price tags or stickers; at first I thought it was the kind of store where if you had to ask how much a thing was, it meant you couldn't afford it, but that's not actually the case at Glasswing. (True, some of their stuff is pricey, but I could afford most of it on a good day. And I like to pay more to support local shops and things that don't fall apart after a few uses.) I overheard that they are just so new that they haven't gotten around to putting stickers on everything. The staff is refreshingly engaged and effusive - they love the things they sell and they know a lot about them. They make good eye contact and give genuine smiles. I want to buy everything. This is my favorite store ever. It has the best curation of any store I've ever been to. The menswear is absolutely amazing. They carry a Swedish brand of raincoats called stutterheim that are the best of the best. They also have great home goods, apothecary, and even a plant shop.
