My fiancé and son were even gifted two donuts by the kind woman behind the counter after my son excitedly shared he'd been helping clean up downtown for Earth Day. Such a thoughtful gesture!!! They loved the cinnamon bun and cereal killer donuts. The shop was clean and very busy, but service was quick and efficient. There are a few seats if you want to eat there, although it's more of a grab and go spot. Parking is street parking and can be tricky at times. It was a beautiful day downtown and I decided I needed a donut. The donuts range in price from $1.25 - $3.00. I got a buckeye which was $3, but it was so rich and satisfying. What a cute donut shop in downtown Syracuse! I had the "Fill it" Friday special - pumpkin cream cheese roll? This yeast donut filled with custard, topped with streusel and a pumpkin cream cheese swirl was delicious! The cake was light, moist and very flavorful. The shop is very small with limited dine in options (there is a table outside). The woman working was very kind and patient while I made my decisions. I chose the cannoli "sandwich", strawberry lemon and cookies and cream. The cookies and cream was my favorite. The chocolate cake was absolutely delicious! I would love to try everything on the menu! I can't review the donuts because twice now we didn't receive our order. I pre-ordered a dozen donuts on Grub Hub for my daughter's birthday. My order never arrived yesterday, so I re-ordered yesterday for delivery this morning. The driver just texted me to tell me they were sold out. I pre-ordered. How is my order not pulled and boxed for delivery today? I must say, this experience has left me dazed and confused. Update: Glazed and Confused called me immediately. They did have my order and Grub Hub did not verify that my order had been pulled. They are delivering my order themselves to SU today and offered to comp my order. I couldn't ask for better customer service! I also learned that they deliver within a five mile radius. Definitely a part of Syracuse I miss the most after moving away! They always have fun flavors throughout the week and a solid selection of permanent flavors. There isn't a lot of seating inside - it's definitely somewhere you get a box of donuts from and eat in the car. Their coffee is also really good! It's a one stop shop for some breakfast goods. We decided to try this place while in town. This is not your ordinary doughnut place - the creations here are wonderful and a number of them could easily be a dessert. We decided to get a mixed dozen - here's our review: All of them have a cake doughnut base. They've got the cake doughnut down! It was moist and perfectly done. We tried a Blackout which is a chocolate cake doughnut with chocolate glaze and chocolate sprinkles - it was tasty! We tried a Blackberry Cobbler which is a cake doughnut with a blackberry glaze. This was the only one that disappointed - we just couldn't taste any blackberry - we only tasted cake - this one needs a re-design to give it some flavor. We tried the Nutella Tornado which was a doughnut with chocolate glaze, chocolate Nutella frosting, bits of brownie and a Nutella drizzle. Truly tasty - a dessert or a doughnut! We tried the Buckeye which was , a doughnut with peanut butter glaze, crushed peanuts, peanut butter buttercream frosting and a peanut butter drizzle - if you like peanut butter - this one is for you - we loved it! We tried the Cinnamon Roll which was a doughnut with cinnamon glaze, cinnamon streusel and cream cheese swirl. I love cinnamon so this was perfect for me. We have several other flavors that we'll try later but I suspect they will as be as awesome as the ones we've tried so far (Blackberry being the lone disappointment). Awesome donut spot. Was downtown with hubby (at a Yelp event lol) and after leaving found this little piece of donut heaven around the corner. Very, very reasonable for freshly made donuts. (I surrendered the 5th and final to my dad, who was happy to oblige). I asked the lady behind the register about the shelf life and she was honest and more or less said they should be consumed in the same day. Not only did I appreciate her honesty, but I also liked the answer. That tells me these things really are fresh and not like the commercialized crap that comes in the box and is sold in grocery stores. There were probably a total of about 12 different options. Maybe not an every day or even every week experience, but keep them in the hopper for when it's time to treat yourself (or someone else) no matter the cost or dietary setback. All their donuts are cake style. Even the filled ones are filled through the hole in the middle, or cut in half and filled sandwich style. They have all the flavors I would have come in looking for; I think they've got the donut Spectrum covered pretty well. The flavoring and design are where the donuts really shine, but even the plain ones are out of this world. I honestly can't rank the donuts against each other. Go for what you're craving and know you'll get the best possible version of that. The pricing is the only thing keeping me out of a reckless habit. The donuts are gorgeous! I rushed over to the shop a half hour before closing thinking I would have only a few options to choose from. But, I was able to get a dozen donuts - one of each of the twelve flavors featured that day. They were a hit at the small gathering I attended. I really enjoyed the French Toast donut with its lovely taste of cinnamon. Next time I go, I think I'll order online. When I arrived, I was the only person there but that changed lickety-split. This place was a bit disappointing, to be honest. I enjoy sweets... a lot (recovering candy addict, here). I try not to eat them too much, so when I do, it is a genuine treat I can fully enjoy. I came up to Syracuse to try a sample a few of the top dessert spots I've missed, and this place was one of them. I tried the Milk N Cookies and the Black Out donuts, which are the type of chocolatey donuts I usually like. And I thought they were just... ok. They were extremely sweet to where there was no depth to the chocolate and cream flavors; the flavor was all sugar. I expected better than what I'd find at Dunkin' Donuts for 2-3x the price. As far as the experience in the shop, it was extremely chaotic. The employees took orders from both sides of the counter but no one was stationed in any specific place, so you had a bunch of customers waiting inside to speak to a cashier scattered around the perimeter to try and socially distance, whether you are ordering there or picking up. They don't seem to have a system in place to manage the chaos for this socially distanced time (and it's been over a year now). Also, when ordering ahead online, they did not have the option to select gluten free. Yes, they do offer GF donuts on Wednesdays and Saturdays. But I was not willing to assume they would respect the open text box, so I ordered a GF one in-person (my SO is GF). Overall, for a shop that specializes in donuts, I was disappointed in the quality. I prefer the donuts at The Sweet Praxis significantly more, as the flavors are better balanced with with the sweetness (and you actually get more for the same price, too). read more

Great customer service from a young man!! Picking up a tray of mini donuts and inquired if there was dairy in the mini donuts due to a severe food allergy the young man working the counter verified over the phone with the owner (his father) that he could give us a vegan donut with glaze and sprinkles. Provided us the donut at no charge so that this little girl would not feel left out when everyone else was eating from the tray. It's great to see that there are caring young people! We visited this place during the Covid-19 state, so the store only allowed one person in the store at a time. Thankfully they let both me and my husband in at the same time. ;) The employees here are so friendly and helpful and made us feel so welcomed! We got a box of five doughnuts (The Springfield + Orange Creamsicle + The Blackout + Cinnamon sugar) and it came to $6. For anyone who knows me - it's no surprise that donuts are my favorite. So when I read that Syracuse has its first "gourmet" donut shop I had to visit. Lucky for me my dad is always up for an adventure. And on a recent Tuesday morning we drove downtown to find this little gem of a shop. Cartoon donuts painted on the walls, pops of purple, yellow and teal... and let's not forget about the disco ball spinning at the ceiling. All the color and twinkle won't distract you from the donuts tho - which are on full display. And the staff will outline the flavors and pricing structure for you.* We selected 5 to try... and spent a total of $10 for the variety. Elvis Strikes Back -- peanut butter frosting with a jelly drizzle.. and it's as delish as it sounds and my favorite of the day. Dizzy Pig -- maple frosting and bacon everywhere.. can you beat this combo? Uh no, this one is top notch as far as maple bacon donuts go. No Sleep Til Brooklyn -- chocolate + more chocolate + crushed up Kit Kat's and Reese's. Some may say its too much chocolate - I say those people are crazy. Glazed -- classic, cakey, perfect.
