Stopped by here for breakfast and I thought the food was really good! I got the L-E-O breakfast sandwich, which came with smoked salmon, egg, onion, and cream cheese. It was the perfect ratio of bread to fillings. The plain bagel had a great texture. This place has plenty of seating inside and the service is quick. It's genius: get a NYC bagelry to mix, form, boil (for bagels), and freeze bagels and bialys; ship them frozen up here in Caz; bake them fresh every day! I lived in the City for two different stretches in the '80s and '90s and have visited all my life. These bagels and bialys are every bit as good as the ones I would get at my local bakeries. Everything I've had here has been worth the expense. Breakfast and luncheon sandwiches are tasty, generous, and carefully assembled. It's also a neat little space to take a moment and refresh and the staff have always been friendly and fast. Don't miss their weekly specials either! But go early, as they often sell out of popular varieties by noon. (You can call ahead the day before for large orders and they will bake them off for you and hold them aside.) read more

Wow! Went to breakfast here and was amazed by fresh coffee, amazing bagels - highly recommend the French Toast bagel, great & friendly service. It's a cute, cafe type establishment. Great breakfast spot in Caz. The bagels are always fresh, service is fast and friendly, and they feature a lot of cool sandwich options including some local ingredients from Critz Farms. I'm a fan of stopping in for a sandwich and taking a few bagels to go. I haven't yet tried their cream cheese, but that's on my list next time I'm there. It's available to take out as well. Drinks are fairly standard fare - a variety of bottled options in a sliding glass cooler, and both hot and iced coffee if that's your jam. I believe they feature Recess Coffee, a local Syracuse brewer. If you're not near Caz but still want to try this place, they opened up a second location in Dewitt that is just as good. read more

The new owner Dawn has single handedly ruined this business that was an amazing establishment. Since her ownership she has fired employees for ZERO reasons via text STATING "Thank you for being willing to work with me but I am letting you go!", while the rest quit immediately due to her abusive behaviors towards them and her blatant disrespect to the customers. Dawn has replaced the well established quality ingredients (local included) for a much more processed and lower quality. The butter that was used for a bagel that I bought a week ago was completely rancid and needed to be remade without butter. She uses her UNGLOVED hand to reach into the food containers and touches the customers food with said hand. read more

The bagels at Caz Bagels are amazing, definitely the best in Syracuse and worth the drive! They have a lot of different flavors of bagels and and even gluten free ones while they last! They have lots of cream cheese flavors and even vegan cream cheese. I would not recommend the lox as it is raw and brined (very salty and tastes like vinegar), but everything else is great. read more

I like the bagels, they are good. However, hygiene there is a little scary. The women who give you the bagels and collect the money from you are wearing gloves, but they handle the money with gloves as well. Not sure how that is hygienic. If they were not so busy talking to each other about personal things one would handle the bagel preparation (if you ask for butter etc.) and the other one without gloves could handle the cash register. read more

There is nothing overtly terrible about Caz Bagels; it's clean, the staff are friendly, and the decor is light and pleasant. But there is tremendous room for improvement. Bagels: they are flavorful, perhaps one step above a grocery store bagel largely due to freshness. But certainly not worth shipping frozen across the state. Gluten free bagels from Colorado? Is it too much to ask that a Bagel Company actually make their own bagels? Or, short of that, partner with a local baker? Caz Bagels is in a strange borderland between Bruegers and a real bagel shop -- and there is clear evidence about 30 min down the road that small-town CNY can in fact enjoy locally-made delicious bagels. So, why not Caz? Sandwiches: I had an egg and cheese breakfast sandwich, and was pretty disappointed. It was literally just a pre-fried egg with a bone-dry yolk and a slice of cheddar warmed up on the bagel. We're sliding back into Bruegers territory again. There are phenomenal breakfast sandwiches to be had in Cazenovia (made on locally-made bread, no less); I find it hard to justify passing those options up for the sad sandwich I had this morning. The coffee is fine. The beans are from RECESS, a local operation in Syracuse. But all coffee is brewed (and dies a slow and painful death) on a gas station coffee system. Again, puzzling. Ok. I am a bagel snob. My favorite bagel is Higbie Bagel aka The Bagel Bin in West Islip, NY on Long Island. I have never eaten a bagel equal to their bagels. The Bagel Oasis in Queens, off the LIE, is closest to the Bagel Bin. The bagels from the Caz Bagel Company are good. They are above my baseline for judging bagels which is Brueggers Bagels. Brueggers fails because the bagels are too small and skimps on cream cheese and/or butter. The Cazenovia Bagel Company receives their bagels partially baked and frozen from somewhere in the Bronx. But the end result is good. I rate them the best in Syracuse metro area, but just shy of the Bagel Oasis in Queens and not to the level of the Bagel Bin. Caz Bagel Co is a nice place, lots of people in line. The staff is good. The owner actually spoke to me about the bagels which really showed me hiw much she cares about the customer experience. The shop does not have that fresh "bagel aroma" which detracts from the visit and lets you know its not a true bagel shop. CBC toasts all bagels unless you ask for them not to be toasted. That is not good. Bagels are not supposed to be toasted. A bagel that requires toasting is not a "real" bagel, but I will return. The coffee? Eh. I ordered a dark roast. Not so good, to be honest. I do not like adding cream and sugar on my own. Its messy, inconvenient, and not my job. Even Dunkin and McDonalds hooks us up with adding the "fixins" to a cup o joe. I recommend going to McDonalds up the road for coffee. My 4 rating is relative to the bagels. My entire review would drop the CBC to a three. Next visit i will get a light roast, and I will update my experience. read more

First of all, this shop is the cutest. Black and white with beautiful blue accents and rustic decor! A+ for the aesthetic appeal!! Disappointed that they didn't have salt bagels available but was immediately redeemed when I tried the chocolate chip one! Omg, so delicious when you warm it and lather some butter on it. Good prices too, got 13 bagels for $16! We got cinnamon raisin, everything and onion as well and they were equally as good. Nothing better than a true New York bagel. Highly recommend! read more

horrible customer service. i was given an attitude by one girl and dirty looks by another. the bagels were harder than a rock and the sandwiches were subpar at best. i purchased a dozen bagels which were extremely overpriced and the bagels went bad within a day. definitely would not recommend, the bagels at dunkin are honestly better. read more

The bagel was fantastic and the eggs we a step above any I've had as I heard they are local. Like really local! The coffee was hot and tasted great. I went to the bagel shop this Saturday and as mentioned before it was PACKED! The team working was friendly and calm under pressure. The owners daughter was taking guests orders and was as pleasant as can be! I had an onion bagel with homemade veggie cream cheese and a coffee (of course!) everything was perfect! I love nothing more than supporting good people in a great town. I wish them all the best and can't wait to take my next trip to Cazenovia!
