Nice course but not quite what you would expect for the price. I've played there a few times over the years and would play there more often if the price was more competitive with other courses in the area. The course needs to be kept up a bit more for that premium price. Bunkers are more dirt than sand. The bar and restaurant need to be run a bit more professionally. Unless it's an event, the staff doesn't really focus on service. I have no complaints about the pro shop and it's personnel. Anyway, I say B- for an overall grade. Soule Park is the better choice for an overall quality golf experience. read more

It is a beautiful and fun golf course to play. However, I have played competitive golf for 11 years and I have never been harassed by a course ranger and manager until today. It took being as respectfully pissed off as we could manage to get them to leave us alone. Having to explain that you're not teeing off immediately because all three players can make it to the green on some holes was insane. On what planet is a potential death or injury worth a few extra minutes. Sandpiper is worth the money if you're between the two courses. It's just as beautiful and I've never had any negative interactions with the course managers there in the seven years I've lived in and played golf in this city. read more

Glen Annie used to be a great place to play. New management, blah, blah, blah. Now way overpriced. Charge for a cart walking or not, 99.00 to play for a resident unless you join the mens club or 805 club. Then still 77.00. Their sand traps are just plain bad. Most are mud with little actual sand. The rest of the course in descent shape but I would recommend that you play at Sandpiper (resident 90.00 walking) or SB Muni which is 39.00 for seniors. Don't recall the regular rate but half the price or less than Glenn Annie and Muni is in great shape all around. read more

We had a great time playing at Glen Annie. The course was in excellent condition and each hole offers incredible views. The Pro Shop team provided great service and the Course Ambassador "Drew", was exceptional. He offered insights on a few hard holes for us and even helped to retrieve a lost ball. I'm not a golfer, but figure I may as well review the venue as a whole. I've been here a small handful of times over the years. It's perched at the top of western Goleta with breathtaking panoramic views. Their bar and café is open to the public and has a good selection of food and beverage options. Service is friendly, and you really can't beat the view on their patio with a cocktail in hand. I've rented the area adjacent to their putting green for a family event and feel that it was well-organized. There is a large private patio adjacent to a banquet room which may be reserved. While we didn't really utilize the room, the patio was perfect on the summer day we rented it. Definitely come here if you're looking for the best views of Goleta! read more

Well manicured, maintained, and managed. The staff was very friendly and even had one offer and give us a ride back to our hotel on her way home. Was a little chilly but such a nice course. We vacationed in Santa Barbra for a week and played GA twice. Casey answered the phone and made my tee time. She had outstanding customer service and made a positive impression even before I visited the course. Suzanne was there when I checked in and was super nice. I didn't know that food and coffee wasn't available before 9am but she managed to get me a cup of coffee a little before the restaurant opened. My daughter and I had a great round. Everyone from the Marshall, the starter and food preparation folks were very accommodating. The course was a bit challenging as advertised. The greens rolled true and the fairways (when I found them) were in good condition. Unfortunately there was fog and we couldn't clearly see the spectacular views but we still had fun. We had finished our round in 6 hours which is too slow of pace. Then we went to get drinks and food after at the bar. The bartender charged us for the food and then said the kitchen was closed. After we got the refund for the food and was charged for the drinks we were given attitude saying "maybe if your friend was a better tipper I would be nicer." I tipped them cash and was completely flabbergasted at that comment. read more

Really nice golf course. Found a good deal on GolfNow. Arrived at course and was charged $15 to have my wife walk with me as a spectator (boo). Never had that happen. At the clubhouse were a nice waterfall and great views of the ocean. Course is hilly but walkable on the front 9. Back 9 no way. Lots of crazy hills. Course is challenging but forgiving at times. Greens were immaculate. Fairways were pretty dry. Pace was fast. Rarely had to wait. Cannot beat the views. Had some appetizers and wine in the bar after. Price was great and the service was fast. Unfortunately the pace at this course is extremely slow. They seem to just book as many tee times as they can here. Not a pleasant golfing experience but the views make it worth it. If you want to get drunk and take 6 hours to play 18 then this is the place for you. However, if you want to play 18 at a somewhat normal pace, this isn't your spot. All in all it's a beautiful and challenging course. It's just a bummer that they jam as many people on the course as they can :( read more

This was a fun outing. The course is in good shape. The fairways are well-maintained, the greens are large, moderately fast, and consistent. As for the gimmicky nature of the layout mentioned by others, I didn't feel that way. The course is situated partially on a hillside across a couple of ravines and I for one appreciate the layout working with the landscape and not having to play side-hill lies all day. As for the pace of play, I can't comment since I played by myself early on a Tuesday morning. Was done in 3 hours! The staff was friendly and efficient. Definitely play here next time I'm in the Goleta/SB area. read more

This used to be a good course until they stopped taking care of it and raised the prices and stopped honoring their Axxess deal. I play Glen Annie about once a month. It's a favorite of my foursome. It's well groomed with a lot If elevations. We find it challenging but very playable. It's got some great vistas on certain holes where you can see the ocean in the distance. The staff is friendly and it's easy to book online. It's a notch above the other public courses in the area. I wish it had a better cafe, but that's my only complaint. I joined the 805 senior club and get a good discount. read more

I absolutely love Glen Annie. My husband and I are fairly new golfers however, we've been lucky enough to play at some amazing places. I definitely recommend this course. The facility is always clean and welcoming. The views of Goleta are amazing. And the bartender makes some great drinks....I recommend the Margarita. The only recommendation I have is to add softer sand into the pits. Lately the sand has felt more like concrete. Either way, we love this place and will continue to visit. read more

I treated my dad here for a round of golf with 18 holes during father's day.I scored a package through the Courtyard Marriott that included a game of golf for two with a cart and balls. I don't really golf, but I love the service here and golfing here was pretty peaceful. My dad is more of a golfer than me- he said that the back 18 of the course had a lot of terrain and hills, so it was a little difficult. There are a lot of hills, but you can definitely see the ocean on a clear day. Beautiful golf course for sure! read more

Got a great deal on Under Par so made the hour drive with buddies. But before I did, I called the pro shop and ask how walkable the course is. Gal said "it's easily walkable". I want to get the exercise so brought a pull cart. I should have paid attention when I saw walkers switching to carts for the back 9. Many steep hills and other factors make the back 9 no fun to walk. So - could have received better advice. And the course condition is just OK. Not terrible, but just typical public course. Patchy grass, rock hard bunkers, etc. Thats all fine. You get what you pay for and I wasn't expecting manicured. But what kept gnawing at me was the layout. While some pretty vistas and elevation changes I don't know what the architect was thinking on many holes. Let's make all the short holes downwind. Let's make all the long holes uphill into the teeth of the prevailing wind. Par 3 212 yards played 250 today. Blind shots galore, and some head scratching landing areas. The course could have been so much better. If I was local I'd still play it but I wouldn't drive here to play again. read more

Overall, unhappy with course and especially the pro shop. Was visiting Santa Barbara this week and decided to play this course. I called yesterday and the pro shop mentioned that there was a tee time available during the Twilight rate at 2:40pm. The starter was pleasant, and the staff was marginal. However, I ran into 3 or 4 groups that were quitting halfway through their round since the course was playing so slowly. The group in front of me was smoking MJ and took 2 or 3 mulligans per hole. My first 7 holes took 2.5 hours and I decided to quit and that point (AND, I was 1-under at the time). I simply had enough. The pro shop mentioned that it was 2 for 1 day.....that should have been mentioned to me before I booked to play this afternoon. This is a absolutely gorgeous course up in the foothills of SB. Very challenging in my mind because if you're ball is even just off the fairway, its just gone. Strangely, the best round of golf I have ever had was on this course..... which doesnt make any sense but makes me feel better. The last hole is fun coming in toward the cafe where you get to be a hero or a zero as people having lunch get to watch you swing in. Then walk up the hill and have killer lunch and a beer - what else could you want?? read more

Playing with someone who hasn't played in a long time, and not in the mood to humiliate them? This is the place. A short, fair golf course in above average condition that is reasonably priced. Wonderful views. 9 is a solid par 3. But the best hole on the course is 12. A short, drivable par four that tests one's institutional hubris or lack thereof. read more

Mind the frog crossing! This is not my favorite course, but it is a beautiful golf course. Set in the hills above Goleta, this course offers great views of the pacific. The first hole is a beast and probably the toughest hole on the course. Par is 71. Greens fees are resonable, all things considered. Course is bermuda grass, so that's a different experience alltogether. This is a very hilly course that you must to take a golf cart on to play. read more
