I love this place! I've been visiting batting cages since I was a youngster playing Little League baseball. I don't play baseball or golf much but I do enjoy batting cages and driving ranges - is that weird? Anyway, after so many years of visiting batting cages in many states, this one is my favorite. It's easy to use. It's clean and always kept in good repair. It's in the beautiful city of Santa Barbara not far from the beach. The staff is friendly, polite and do a great job. They have baseball and softball machines. Slow pitch to fastballs. They have bats there that you can use. You don't need to bring any gear. There is a great taco shop on the property: East Beach Tacos.

If it's your first time and going for fun like me, I recommend just getting a couple tokens. My arm was sore after just a few rounds haha

Came here for the tacos next door & decided to challenge my bf to who can hit more balls. We're totally amateurs, but it was a lot of fun! If it's your first time I recommend getting a couple tokens, and go with the softball setting. My arms were sore after just a few rounds lol. Can't wait till we're in town again, this was a fun lil date spot.

$2.75 for 20-pitches but they no longer validate a free token :(, still good price but ya don't get a full 20-balls, maybe 15-18.

Ask the Community - East Beach Batting Cages

Is there all you can hit and all you can eat tacos deal for $20?

Hey Theotis! I’m not aware of any deal like that, but $11 would get you five batting tokens for a total of 100 pitches. That would be a pretty solid workout and it would leave you with a good chunk of change left over to wander next door for some…

They have a variety of batting cages with different pitch speeds, so you can choose one based on what works best for you. They offer both baseball and softball cages, plus a real-time pitching cage where a companion can pitch directly to you. The staff has always been friendly and helpful, answering any questions we've had. We bring our own equipment, but I believe they have bats available to borrow if needed. Just don't forget your helmet and batting gloves! Cage rentals are available for 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes, and the pricing seems pretty standard. My son loves coming here to practice his swing, and I've noticed he warms up better before games when he's had extra batting practice here. Definitely a great spot for extra reps!

I was able to find great deals on mini golf and arcade credits through Groupon, which definitely helped. There are tons of fun games, and the kids loved the arcade. They even managed to win prizes from the giant claw machine, which never happens, so that was a big highlight! They also have batting cages and water bumper cars, though the bumper cars were out of commission when we visited. I'd recommend eating beforehand and bringing your own drinks. The food is overpriced and not great quality. That said, the service was very friendly both at the food counter and in the arcade/ticket area.

The website will say "open," but weekday hours don't actually start until 2 PM, and that detail is buried further down. We found that out the hard way after finishing up at the pier around 11 and having to completely pivot our plans (including grabbing food elsewhere to hold the kids over). Not a dealbreaker, but definitely something to be aware of if you're visiting from out of town. Once they did open though? Completely different story. We were greeted by Robert -- and honestly, he set the tone for the entire visit. He was the only one up front at first, but you wouldn't have known it based on how smoothly everything went. Friendly, attentive, and actually present. He helped us get set up, handled food, and still managed to keep an eye on everything else going on. And yes -- he made our pizzas fast, gave us a buzzer, and sent us on our way to enjoy the games instead of waiting around. That alone? Huge. We ended up doing the arcade route first, and this is where Boomer's really surprised me. I used a Groupon deal and paid $25 for 100 points, and it just so happened to be one of their half-off arcade days. So instead of games costing 3 points, they were 1.5 -- and the machines actually show you the discount clearly. That's smart business. The card system is also way better than old-school arcades. No paper tickets flying everywhere -- everything loads directly onto the card. And for once, we actually had enough points to get decent prizes. We walked out with a bunch of toys and plushies instead of the usual "you can afford a sticker and a piece of candy" situation. At one point, my son joked that a game was "rigged," and Robert immediately stepped in -- not in a defensive way, but in a "let me make sure this kid is having a good time" way. He showed him how the game worked, pointed out that he had already won multiple times, and turned it into a funny, reassuring moment instead of letting frustration build. That kind of attentiveness stands out. We also tried the go-karts (paid separately), and I'll say this: if you're even considering it, just go for the unlimited option. One round was enough to realize we wanted to get right back in line. The kids had a blast, and even with one riding with me, it was still a great experience. We ended up spending about 2.5 to 3 hours here between food, games, and rides -- and overall spent around $100. For everything we did, that's actually a really solid value. Especially compared to places like Scandia, where you can easily drop $200 without blinking. There was also a giant claw machine with oversized bouncy balls -- both of my boys won on their first try, which felt like a miracle in itself. We couldn't take them with us (overpacked car problems), so we gave them to another family with little ones. Unexpected wholesome moment. Overall vibe: * Not overly crowded (at least when we went) * Clean and easy to navigate * Systems are modern and efficient * Staff presence was light, but Robert carried the experience If I had one note, it would be the hours communication -- that part could be clearer upfront. But once you're inside, the experience makes up for it. We came in slightly thrown off by the timing... and left with happy kids, prizes, and zero regrets. And Robert? Give that man his flowers. He made a lasting impression without even trying to. All in all a great experience and 10/10 would recommend ! BUT THEY OPEN AT 2pm on weekdays ! REMEMBER THAT !
