I have been with Glen Dance Studio for 16 years and have danced there for 15. Glen Dance Studio has become my second home and without it, I would be a completely different person. All of the teachers at Glen Dance provide opportunity for growth, give emotional support and build their dancers confidence. The teachers go above and beyond to see their dancers improve. Aside from a dance studio, Glen Dance is a family. Ms.Kim's love for dance and her kindheartedness has made Glen Dance such a positive experience. She really wants her dancers to thrive and wants to see everyone improve- even the ones she doesn't teach. Encouragement is huge here and every teacher truly does care for every student. I've also danced competitevly with Glen Dance, raising money for various charities, going on trips and learning teamwork with Glen Dance. Every year, the GDS company holds a benefit performance raising money for charities such as Ronald McDonald House really showing that Ms.Kim loves to give back from the good of her heart and that is something irreplaceable. The team has also had the opportunity to dance in places such as a cruise, Disney and Rome. Ms.Kim and the other teachers are always looking for opportunities to expand her student's dancing and learning, taking workshops in these various places to improve her dancers and provide them with experiences that are one in a lifetime. Lastly, Glen Dance has given me my best friends. Theres no other place that I'd want to spend every night. The girls and boys that dance at glen dance become your family and the relationships you build with each other go outside of the studio and are friendships that you hold for forever. This also applies to teachers. Many of them become mentors overtime and watch you grow not only as a dancer but as a person and having those connections with people for so long provides a sense of comfort and compassion. My 2 daughters dance at Glen Dance Studio for a combined 20 years, both starting when they were just 3 years old. I have watched them grow into beautiful, confident, graceful dancers. But Glen Dance Studio is more than a great dance studio. It is a place where my girls have learned to give back to the community in which they live. Every year the Director, Kim Leary, holds a benefit of sorts. My girls have danced to raise money for local families struggling with medical bills or to raise awareness for causes that have affected our dance "family". Other years Kim sent donated items that the dancers packaged up and sent them to the soldiers in Iraq during the holidays. After Superstorm Sandy, Kim organized a toy drive and with the dancers, she delivered the toys to families on the South Shore who had lost everything. The girls put on a small show to help raise the spirits of those so brutally impacted by the storm. My girls have learned that thru their love of dance, they were able to help others. Glen Dance Studio has not only taught my daughters the beauty of dance, but has taught them the beauty of giving back. The Studio has shown my girls what their talents and hearts can do and the effects their dance can have on others and the importance and inner pride you get from volunteering. Glen Dance Studio is a wonderful place for children to learn & grow in the art of dance! The staff, teachers and other students provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere where children have fun while learning dance, making friends and working together to put on a performance. My 3 girls have been dancing at Glen Dance for a total of 7 years now. They range in age from 10 to 4 ... They have grown up there and never want to leave! I am so impressed with how much dance terminology they understand. I look forward to parents' week every year just so I can see how wonderfully my children respond to the teachers and show me how much they have advanced in such a short period of time. My girls' each receive in the mail, once in a while, a personal note addressed to them from their dance teacher praising them on an accomplishment in class or just congratulating them on their progress. It is such a nice and classy touch to send "snail mail" to young children ... It is a delight to see their faces light up when I announce that they have mail! My daughter is now starting her 8th year at Glen Dance and she loves it!! She has had several of the teachers and each one of them is different and unique and has their own style of teaching but each has had a great impact on my daughter. I feel that she has grown so much not only as a dancer but also in confidence. We have tried 2 other studios and we just never liked them as we did Glen Dance. As a working mother with more than one child's schedule to juggle, I love how organized Ms. Kim (the owner) is and how informed parents are about everything. She is responsive to students' needs and very understanding and helpful. She offers so many options in terms of classes and when they are offered so everyone can find something that works best with their schedule. I read the negative review about Ms. Tanya, and although everyone is different, my daughter has had her for 2 years and absolutely loves her!! She is a great teacher who is always smiling! My daughter has been attending Glen Dance for 5 years and she loves it!! And as parents so do we!! L has grown so much in her dancing ability and coordination. She loves going every week and loves to come home and show what she has learned. As a parent I love how organized Ms. Kim (the director) is with scheduling. The matinee shows in June are perfect in length for the young dancers and when you sign the kids up for more than one class you know exactly which show they will be in and can make sure you don't sign up for two different shows if possible!! The teachers are sweet. The kids have fun but also know the rules and that's what helps them learn so much. I read a review about Ms. Kim being rude and I do not agree! She is a business owner and in order to run a school like this smoothly, one cannot expect her to become best friends with each parent that comes thru her doors. I have 2 daughters who dance at this studio . One at competition ,company level , and the other in the young dancers class . The teachers are very good at teaching the girls the correct terminology, dance movements & choreography. The studio is clean & very well run . All the students are treated like family by the owner Kim & the camaraderie, amongst all the students is lovely to witness ,as a paying parent . All the dancers seem to really thrive here & their recitals & shows are so good it's like watching a professional troupe . Over the last year the studio were amazing at adapting and adhering to the ever changing demands of the pandemic, whilst still allowing the children a place to learn and perform. Was very shocked to read the last review. My daughter has been going to Glen Dance Studio for a very long time (12 year trophy last year), and I have NEVER experienced that. She dances at the studio 3 days a week, and I have always been treated with respect as well attention to my questions. The school is well regarded in the community, and I feel the "quality and technique of dance taught" is excellent! The teachers are great, especially Kim the owner. Any question I have ever had that she needs answered I email or call her, and she gets back to me immediately. In the rare situation of a class being cancelled, I receive a phone call (if its close to class time) or email notifying me of the class change. I highly recommend Glen Dance for your child! Our daughters have danced at Glen Dance Studio for a few years now. Each year has been rewarding and we have seen the growth in their dance technique and confidence. I am surprised to read negative reviews about Miss Tanya as she is highly regarded throughout the studio by students and parents. Her knowledge of all dance techniques especially hip hop has helped my daughters take their ability to the next level. She offers professionalism, creativity and guidance.
