She then told the judge, I was difficult to talk to and that I wanted to represent myself. My case was dismissed due to lack and poor legal representation. And to add insult to injury accordingly to the Dekalb Lawyers Association, she has a niche in Father's Rights which in my opinion is a complete conflict of interest and explains why she was so hostile to me for no apparent reason. This wasn't my first encounter with her, I took the same action back In 2018. She was rude then and told the Non custodial parents they could pay $1, the bare minimum and that would suffice. I was shocked and outraged that she'd state this in open court when she was representing Custodial parents fighting for financial support for their children. I'm not sure if she took her meds during both of my unpleasant experiences with her but she definitely has some mental health issues that she should definitely seek help for. Read her responses to other people's reviews. Not the response of a professional. Perhaps since she doesn't have children of her own, it makes her insensitive and Unempathetic to these kinds of matters. If you have a complaint against her or witnessed her unethical behavior, I'd implore you to make a formal complaint with State Bar of GA, The Consumer Assistance Program, GA DEPARTMENT OF LAW'S CONSUMER PROTECTION, and OFFICE OF THE NSW LEGAL SERVICES COMMISSIONER OF GA to avoid anyone else from having this kind of encounter with her. Her behavior and demeanor is rude, arrogant, and egregious.

I should have hired Sheneneh Jenkins' lawyer (Ronnie Cochran) instead. Anyway, I'm done supporting Black businesses. They don't appreciate you or your support. I had high hopes when I came across this law firm, thinking they were good people who were willing to work for us and not just for a money grab. If criminal defense is not your strong suit, don't take the case. If you're the face of the firm and you only work with "high-profile" cases, then don't pass me over to one of your staff members that I know nothing about -- or how well they perform in certain areas of their legal field. If you don't have your staff (other attorneys) listed on your website, that's a red flag. I was definitely blindsided when I thought I would be working with the attorney whose face is all over the website advertising his credentials but not mentioning or showing the other attorneys at the firm. This attorney conveniently left out the fact that he ONLY works with celebrities. That's false advertising. The attorney who is the face of the firm assigned me to an unknown with little to no experience in criminal defense or time management. I was adamant to my mother to retain a black attorney and unfortunately the one we came up with 'good reviews' was Robert James Trial Attorneys. The initial meeting with Mel whom I was assigned to went left as he was unaware of what my case was about and why he had been assigned the case. I was immediately taken aback because we had paid $3000 to retain this attorney. Mel then told me that I would be able to get a refund on my $3000 after meeting me at Fulton County Jail. However, after calling the office a repeated amount of times to get clarity on the refund process. My Mother and I were told we were not eligible to receive a refund, even though no services had been rendered. They also refused from that point on to even speak with me (their client) from whom the money had come from. I immediately contacted my bank and they refunded me the funds after a thorough investigation. After the office was made aware of my refund they contacted me to be sure we no longer wanted to retain them. The audacity! BUYER BEWARE! I would not hire this attorney for my worst enemy. The way they treated me was reprehensible. I won't even go into the details of the language used by the assistant, Brandon nor Mel during our phone calls once they realized they weren't dealing with some ignorant N-word with no education or wealth of knowledge of the law. It's been months since this ordeal and I retained a highly qualified attorney who has been on my case since they dropped the ball. It doesn't bring me joy to write this review months later, but I would do a disservice to anyone who may be incarcerated or thinking of retaining them for a loved one and they are strapped on cash. You are better off representing yourself than going with this law firm. Take it from me! RUN! Find you an attorney that is not just black but competent!
