It doesn't bother me, but I was surprised at how easy it was to hear. Also, the walls aren't paper thin between units but noise from the hall comes through remarkably well. And it exits the unit well also. My AC is loud and poor at keeping the place cool. I also had some damage when I moved in that I felt should have been resolved or not exist because of the cost.

This is a non smoking community, I am a smoker, in the lease it states that although it is a non smoking community what you do in your apartment is your business, So I smoked in my apartment, after every smoke I sprayed air freshner, and btw I am not a chain smoker. They kept telling me they could smell smoke coming from my apt. Which i found odd, were they constantly standing outside my door? Every visitor I had said they could not smell smoke. They said I had to smoke outside 25 ft away from the building, I couldnt even smoke on my balcony, but grills only had to be ten feet away from the building, this still makes no sense to me. My mother was my co-signer and they actually called her to complain about me, little do they know my mother and I are very close and we shared a good laugh about it. One night I went to bed at 915, my 13 year old son stayed up and was laying on the couch playing with his DS. At 1015 he came in my room and said someone was knocking on the door, I get up to see who it is and its the police, they told me they received a noise complaint. I said thats funny cuz I'm in bed and my son is laying on the couch playing a video game at a volume so low I couldnt even hear it, the officer made it a point to tell me 3 times that it was the lady downstairs who is complaining, so I have to wonder if this has happened to previous tenants. They took my info and left. A few days later I went to the office, and I told the assistant what happened. He said he'd look into it and if it concerns me he'll let me know what is going on. If it concerns me??? Ummmm.....Yeah it concerns me, the cops were at my apartment, It concerns me a lot. Its no surprise he didnt get back to me. I kept getting 5 day notices for the smoking, at this point I just wanted out of there, I was being harrassed not only by my neighbor but by the office staff. I suggested to break my lease, cut my ties with Timber Ridge, at first they werent having it. But I didnt give up. I just wanted out. So I kept smoking and finally they agreed to let me go. An office personal told my mother they would have no problem renting my apartment, cuz they are always at full capacity. So out of curiosity I looked at the tenant portal and they are still charging me rent, for two months now, I never recieved any type of correspondence about it, and I looked to see if my apartment is still available and guess what? It isnt. So somebody is obviously living there and they are still charging me rent. Rent which I refuse to pay. Beware!!!! They may be nice to you to get you to rent there but they are absolutely shady people, bad customer service all around, They are thieves. They are double dipping. Think twice and then think again before renting at Timber Ridge,

It's definitely on the pricier side but pretty comparable to other downtown Milwaukee complexes. Since I've been here, there have been a few safety issues but Fortress quickly acted to increase security and I have personally never felt unsafe. There are community events fairly often and management is usually quick to respond whenever I reach out. I'd definitely recommend Fortress if you're looking to move. COVID Precautions: When COVID hit, management was quick to put social distancing into action. Community rooms were closed for a short period and masks were required when not in your apartment. Now, masks are still required in any community areas but all community rooms are open for use with social distancing measures in place.

RUN, RUN, RUN for your life!…read more On June 9th at 6:30 a.m., I was walking to the basement for coffee in the community room - I had my jammies on and my "all you need is love" coffee cup. You need more than love to live at this building- you need to carry a gun and mace. As I approached the hallway corner outside my door near the elevator on the 5th floor of the Main Bldg., I turned the corner, almost dropping my coffee cup. A man was sitting on the floor staring up at me. He was intentionally blocking my way. As he quickly began running toward me, I froze long enough to gasp for air - I then turned back, barely escaping into my apartment and locking the door. I was terrified as I stood there shaking. I called management and they called the police - apparently, the office says, this is Milwaukee - this stuff happens all the time. Not where I live it doesn't. The rent is insanely expensive and there is zero security, literally none at all. They have cameras but no one monitors them - they provide a fob to enter the building, but once you're in you can access anywhere you want. They have several blind spots in the building as well as the stairwells that are not monitored by video cameras. When I called the Milwaukee Police and asked if they could do anything about this and the officer I spoke to said, "I'm so sorry you had to go through this - you live close to a really bad area - I would hate for any of my family to have to live like this - I would leave as soon as possible, if you can - there is nothing we can do other than beef up patrol - once the trespassers enter we don't have any way to know." Anyone can enter the building - people let people in, buzz them up, and the entry door remains open for quite sometime. The management needs to install fobs to access various parts within the building and on-property security to monitor the cameras and protect the residents by walking the building, and regularly checking the un-monitored stairwells. I learned about another incident that happened the previous Friday - a man tried to break into a female's unit and was found hiding in the stairwell. It is dangerous! All the community facilities are in the basement - and once a trespasser is there or attacks someone, it would be hours before anyone found them. My life is more valuable than the fee they want in exchange for me to break my lease - I have been here one month and they are holding me to the 14-month lease in spite of the fear I feel for my life given their failure to provide a safe and secure premises - it's unbelievable! The only alternative is the payment of three months rent to break the lease - $4,800.00 - really? Within this month of occupancy I also suffered a fall because they failed to mark a dangerously unnoticeable sidewalk step; though they now have a bright yellow strip marking the step. I have been in physical therapy twice a week since the fall and am still in severe pain. They also allow large dogs and do nothing when tenants fail to keep them under control. I was in the elevator with my two small dogs and the door opened to a large dog that the owner could not control and it was lunging at my pups and me - we were unable to exit the elevator and had to go back up to another floor and out another elevator to safely exit. My current unit is on the 5th floor with the roof top directly above. Often there are people who climb over the rooftop barriers and party above my unit. Management does nothing, and they are unable to catch them given their lack of security. This is a beautiful property, with much potential - but I am warning anyone who values their life not to rent from the Fortress. You may not walk out alive; or if you do, severely injured both mentally and physically.

It was newly renovated and nicely up-kept. The building features a heated parking garage with storage spaces and an on-site laundry room. Toly, the manager, was prompt with any issues or requests. The neighborhood is very close to the lake and has plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance. I truly enjoyed the Bayview Area, thank you!

There is 1 coin-operated laundry room for the entire complex (found in the same building as the management office) that has about 8 washers & 8 dryers for your convenience. You get a key for it when you move in. Complex is also in a great location, close to restaurants, shops and other businesses. You're walking distance from Pick n Save, Menards, Kohl's, Marshall's/Homegoods, Target, Chik Fil A, & Panda Express to name a few. Short drive to Walmart and other businesses. Near bus lines and public transport. Now for the downside (note that I'm giving my perspective from my apartment area, other tenants in other buildings may have a different view): old neighbors (when we first moved in) were great. Courteous, not loud, and friendly. Neighbors now? Not so much. In the last year, most of those friendly and quiet neighbors have moved away and the new neighbors who took their place are obnoxious, rude, and have no common courtesy for their neighbors. We've been woken up in the middle of the night by drunk neighbors arguing in the parking lot, arguing in the common walkway between buildings, neighbors talking & laughing loudly on their front steps, etc. I'm not against any of these if they happened during day hours when most people are awake anyways, but being woken up at 2-5am when you have to work in the morning isn't a pleasant way to start your day. It also makes it difficult to keep your apartment windows open when the weather is nice, unless you don't mind the outside ruckus interfering with what you got going on inside your own apartment. God forbid you have a sleeping infant/toddler. Each apartment has some grassy areas in front of their doors. We used to be able to walk barefoot out there as we mingle with neighbors. Now, new neighbors with pups let their dogs shit on all the patches of grass and even on the concrete walkways and don't pick it up. Now, management has tried to help deter this shitastrophe by installing convenient waste bag stations for tenants to use.. but, tenants aren't using them. Walking from your apartment door to your car, you're then hit with the rancid smell of rotting dog feces from all angles. It's so much worse when it's hot out too. You get the smell PLUS all the flies. Yum. You can also find cigarette butts, mini liquor bottles, and other fun memorabilia from a drunken night tossed about the grass. Another negative is how often the office managers are changed. It seems they change out or hire someone new every few months or so. That makes it so that you as a tenant don't really get to build a relationship or repertoire with management. You complain about something being broken or hazardous, and it seems to be forgotten or swept under the rug. If they do respond about a maintenance issue, it usually takes a few weeks to resolve. I have a laundry list of maintenance issues that were noted on our move-in date that have yet to be addressed. As it seems to be the trend, this year we'll be following along the footsteps of our long gone friendly neighbors and saying goodbye to Autumn Glen. The rent hikes along with the listed issues above were the last straw for us. But hey! The apartments are reaaallyyy spacious! That's a big plus!

Where I live, people seem to mind their own business. It is what it is, nothing spectacular. Management will work with you if you are caught in a dilemma. Pros- Rent is pretty cheap for what you get and has a bunch of restaurants and shops are within walking distance. I run out late and have not seen any crime in the area. Cons- The washers and dryers are pretty bad in my unit. They leave a film on my clothes. There is a laundry mat close by that I use. The windows are pretty awful and can run up your bill if you are not careful. I hope management does something about it.
