GLENCOE GATHERING
For lunch.
Apart from the fact the food is very bland, flavourless and the pizza seems made from rubber (which we reviews before the icident)
You may get stuck in the toilet.
My girl has vairies disabilities such as severe asd, non verbal,24/7 stimmer, tourettes but she can go into a toilet cupical turn the lock and unlock it when she is ready. She is 10 years old and candela with toilet issues. She has never had an issue using a public toilet before.
However this lock she couldn't open once she was finished and ready to leave.
She tried hard but she couldn't open that toilet cupical door lock.
I tried turning it from the outside...nothing as I am with her all the time. I was right outside her door.
I called my adult son to help , he used his keys and a keyring...nothing we still couldn't get her out. We tried the outside of the lock which was worn and nothing was catching on it to turn...so it looked as though this has happened before.
How long do we give it before we panick!
I went to alert the manager who I had met previously as he greeted his customers and he said hello.
He was now no where to be found...strangely
I was told from a member of the staff he was "on his way"
Meantime back in the toilet a lovely American lady who had popped in to use the facilities began to assist us. She climbed on the adjacent cupical toilet to see if she could drop down but the wall was to high. If you ever see this thank you so so much for helping us.
We looked at the other locks and she commented they were the old bolt rusty locks and how she had to use her body to push the door in a bit to unbolt the lock...I understood what she meant as I have come across doors like that.
The problem is my daughter hasn't.
So I popped out to get assistance again as no one came to assist us.
I found a member of staff at the till with customers cashing up their bill.
I interupt and tell him we need assistance..I was ignored.
I went nuts
I shouted "we have a disabled child stuck in a toilet cupical now for 5/10 mins with three adults trying to set her free we need immediate assistance"
The customers were shocked and stood back for the staff to deal with me first.
He said "the manager is coming"
I shouted "with respect your manager has been coming now for 5/10 mins. So...I am now alerting you..to inform you manager we will be damaging your property to release this child"
I walked away and gave my son the instruction..kick the door in
..
He did. Bolt came flying off. My girl got out.
She was hysterical, frightened, alarmed and afraid
When we left. Not one member of staff came to see if she was OK, not one came over to check on us, to apologise, to say they would report it as an incident...nothing...all there eyes went to the floor...not one said a thing!!
Disgusting behaviour from men (all the staff were male)
So thats my reason for over spending on my girl in the chocolate shop in Oban. read more
