I will start with this, this is not a hotel but an experience. Yes this experience is off the beaten path but isn't it true most things worth doing require a little research and word of mouth. So I will say you MUST have a car while staying here. It took a 3 hour drive from st Andrews to the Glencoe house, hidden in a small village in the Highlands. we pulled up and the sight of the house was amazing, we entered and were greeted by James. James is a wonder and what I consider to be an expert on Scottish history, not to mention he was wearing a kilt and Harris tweed, which I knew nothing about but I do now! James got us all settled in our room, explained everything and how everything worked, got our luggage and settled our car for us. 5 star service. That evening we had a delicious dinner in our suite, suite 1, dinner was great and service was a wee bit slow for our NJ/NY taste but was lovely. Our entire stay was fabulous down to breakfast in the mornings. If we return to Scotland it would be to visit Glencoe house again.

    Treetops Bed and Breakfast

I have stayed at some top of the line B&B's. This one really is one of the best…read more I knew we were going to stay in the area so I had scoped out on the internet the best options, including hotels, etc. But something about treetops seemed right. We arrived as early in the afternoon as possible as we had hopes it would be worth it. We wound around the drive to the 2 story house and parked our car. We wandered in as the husband of the house(it's a husband and wife that own it), was by the front door. He gave us a tour of the beautiful house, including the breakfast area and guided us to our room. Our room was called the Ben Nevis. Fitting, as it had an awesome view of, the Ben Nevis! It had a hat of clouds on but the valley below was just as great. The room was open and cozy at the same time with many accouterments. The location was great as there was a restaurant right near by that was walking distance. the next morn we had an excellent breakfast with toast, many cheeses and meats and some salmon. It was perfect for us as it was fairly quick and great to it the road. We really do hope to e back. It may be on another continent, but worth trying to make it back.

Outstanding Bed & Breakfast!…read more Fabulously spacious rooms. Easy to locate. Central to many activities in Ben Nevis/ Fort William area and beyond. Breakfast was a delight, great variety. Owner was spot on with restaurant and sightseeing recommendations. I would highly recommend.
