In the beginning it most definitely was rough and challenging for my daughter. Although, at a school like Basis where; the curriculum exceeds expectations, support systems are phenomenal, and resources are readily available, I now know what all the hard work was/is for and it's worth it because you see real results. My daughter is in seventh grade now, and I have seen so much improvement. Basis and my family have collectively worked together to expeditiously get positive results and we will continue working with Basis. I try my hardest to keep my daughter on track and it is clear Basis is doing the same. Without their guidance and advice on how to help my daughter at home, I would be useless. This is a school that motivates their students to excel and challenges students in a way other schools don't. If you believe in your child and know that your child is capable of doing hard work then Basis is for you! This school is a school for kids that want to work hard and won't shy away from a challenge. Additionally, the benevolent faculty and staff are highly qualified and well-rounded. If you would want anyone to be mentoring, advising or teaching your children...then Basis is where they need to be. I am more than positive that after attending Basis my child has and will continue to exceed my expectations and others. I genuinely feel bad for the janitor because the kids can trash the bathrooms. I didn't realize how often we drove past this place! The choir concert was inside of the Bulpitt Auditorium. Beautiful space, but definitely has seen better times. The chairs and the doors squeak a little, the acoustics are a little muffled but it was still pleasant! Campus was very well kept as well!

The studio on campus is excellent and really fun to work in. You start out on the Trident console before moving into ProTools. You gain experience using compressors, EQs, microphones, and pre-amps. I had home schooled her during her illness, but she still had to take her finals at school. I knew math was her weak area, and Algebra was her nemesis. After testing, it was revealed that my daughter had the math skills of a seventh grader. Yet, we only had three weeks to get her caught up with her Algebra lessons and prepare her for her final (even though it had been six months since she'd attended.) The staff at Sylvan was wonderful, sympathetic and understanding. The teachers were AMAZING. They taught my daughter different methods to learn the concepts. My daughter mentioned how weird one of the teachers was, whom sang his lessons to her. She said as she was taking her Algebra final at school, she found herself singing the songs in her head. The training was a success! The staff was as excited as we were that my daughter had passed! When we originally started going my daughter was leery about going. Now she asks for tutoring when she needs help. She's doing wonderfully! Worth every cent!

I then had lost my step mom and failed vascular lecture 2x. My mistake . I was dropped from the school , and was told i had to pay back my financial aid then can reapply for reentry . Well i was able to pay over $1,000 back and reapplied and wrote a letter i then got a call it was discussed at the monthly meeting and they decided to not let me back in . This place doesn't care about people trying to better their future they care about money only . I've been trying to appeal the decision for a year with no response from the school . Apply at the risk of them acting like they care and support you when they really don't .

Let's talk about the revolving door of instructors and staff. We both got pretty close to a lot of staff and instructors. Most of them admitted they would be leaving shortly and they eventually did. They will tell incoming students exactly what you want to hear. The truth is, the revolving curriculum is so unstructured, students mesh together during different quarters, into classes they're not ready for yet, but the other students are. You're all mixed together, regardless of where you are in progress. Also, Aspen university nursing plan has just been shut down for the SAME EXACT ISSUES occurring here. Currently talking to a friend who is being pushed back because her CPR card wasn't accepted by the school. Even though other students used the same one. The staff doesn't talk to each other, and once instructor might ok something another won't. There is absolutely ZERO structure. Your images will be pass or fail all depending on who is there that day. Good luck!
