However, as of May 22, we still had not received the requested documentation. When I contacted the office again to follow up, the conversation became contentious with both the reception staff and Mr. Greenwald himself. We were informed that we were "not the clients," despite being individuals who contributed financially to the services and who had consistently sought clarification and updates throughout the process. She wanted me to accept the offer from the District Attorney which would have been disadvantageous to me and my career in many ways. It was obvious that I was going down the wrong path with this attorney so I asked the judge to remove her from my case and appoint another attorney. The court appointed Mike Schillinger. The first time I met Mike, I was sitting in court and he came over and introduced himself as my new attorney. He appeared confident, easy going and professional. He listened to me thoroughly and assured me that he would work hard to achieve the best outcome for me. I was in the fight for my life and needed an advocate who believed in me and would stand up for me.
