I rec'd the dreaded "Do Not Renew" letter from Hartford Insurance on Thurs. April 4 giving me until Sunday April 28 to comply with a ridiculous list of fuels reduction demands. (- which included removal of a 27" beautiful healthy pine tree that was limbed up 25-30' above my roof, b/c the trunk of the tree was within 5' of my house - totally unnecessary and would have cost 1000's of $$ b/c of the layout ...) Caldwell Insurance, specifically Eric Lund, went to bat for me: talking with the underwriters - getting them to drop ridiculous/useless parts of their request - and buying me additional time (since every tree company I spoke with was already booked well into May by early April). Eric helped calm me down & got me pointed in the right direction for compliance. On Monday, May 20, owner Justin came to my house to take pictures of all the work I'd done (b/c I don't have a smart phone, only a camera - and the photos at 5MB apiece would be too large to email to Hartford). He even helped me rake up the last bits & pieces which I'd been unable to do b/c of our weird May weather. He was very encouraging, liked the work he saw accomplished, and was hopeful I'd be renewed. I heard back within 3 days that I was back on the "Renew" list! i could not have succeeded without Eric and Justin's interventions, assistance and prompt communications which I appreciated greatly! I'd strongly recommend Caldwell Insurance and Eric Lund if you're in the market! I've got homeowners, auto and an umbrella policy through them, and they've provided exceptional service.
