Like most people, I saw the reviews and thought hiring this company to paint my cabinets would be a good bet. Do not make the same mistake I did. I paid over $2,100 for a job worth no more than $800. I was quoted the job would take 3 days, and I thought "good, they'll take their time and do it correctly." Wrong. They were done in 10 hours over 2 days. 10 hours of work, $2,150. My wife literally HATES our cabinets due to the poor job this company did. Smudges, crooked lines, paint on the hinges, missed spots, paint on the grout lines, smears and paint on the sink faucet. I could have done a better job than this company, but I thought paying for a professional to come in and do it would yield a better finish. Wrong again. The pictures I've attached are AFTER we already had the company fix all the mistakes they made. We placed pieces of blue tape everywhere we saw something that needed to be fixed, and they fixed it. Then over the next week we found at least 20 more areas that look absolutely atrocious. The crew was nice, easy to work with, but their work is completely unprofessional, and they don't pay attention to detail. They don't take pride in completing a job thoroughly and they don't treat your home as if they were painting their own. There's really no way the owner can explain these mistakes without ignoring the pictures I've posted. Like I said, if I had paid maybe $800 or $1,000 I would be alright with the job they did and change my stance, but for $2,150 I was ripped off. We bought a home in South Charlotte that needed painting in February. The original owners were renting the home back from us until their kids got out of school for summer, so our realtor was nice enough to coordinate communication with the original owners and arrange visits with the different vendors we needed. Carlos Glenny (the owner of Glenny's painting) sent us an estimate through our realtor in early March based on the Zillow photos. However, Carlos warned our realtor that it would cost extra to remove the texture from the walls, so he wanted to go see the home in person before he quoted that part of the work. The estimate seemed reasonable and we figured that we could always choose not to do the texture removal if the price came in too high, so we agreed to move forward. Fast forward to the middle of May and Carlos is finally able to get in the home (granted, this was complicated as we had to coordinate with the original owners through our realtors). Without explanation, he sends us a revised estimate that is 23% higher on the original work plus another 21% to remove the texture! I was just expecting the quote for the texture, so I was shocked that he raised the price on everything! When I questioned this, he told me that the original estimate was very rough and that he couldn't tell from the photos that there were multiple rooms to prime, almost the whole house has crown molding, and that some of the ceilings will need two coats of paint. I pointed out to him that you can see the crown molding in all the pictures and that it was clear to me, as a novice, from the pictures that most of the rooms would have to be heavily primed as they had darker colors and custom finishes. I ask if he can honor the original estimate and he tells me he can't as he won't be able to make a profit. Over the course of several conversations, another visit to the house, and another week, we continue to discuss it. At this point, it's only about 10 days until he was going to begin work, so it's difficult, if not impossible, to get anybody else in there to get another estimate before we move in, so we're in a bind. It's obvious that he's not going to honor the original estimate, so I suck it up and offer to meet him halfway but he won't budge. He tells me that everyone knows that painting estimates are rough and that it's not like the other trades where they can do an accurate esimate based on online photos. So why did he give one? He keeps adding more reasons why he needed to raise the price, telling me the doors are peeling so he needs to sand them (you weren't going to sand the doors!?!?) and my favorite was that it was going to cost more because we're having the floors refinished, so he's going to have to be extra careful when covering them (you're not normally careful with the floors?). We ended up not using Glenny's and we're going to have to find another painter after we move all of our stuff in. I had to laugh when I read the motto on their website "Customer satisfaction over profit is a motto we live by every day." We originally chose Glenny's because of all of the 5 star reviews, but our experience was much different. read more

Called and spoke with Carlos Monday May 6th about coming out to give me a quote to paint my house. He requested I text him my information and what I needed done which I did. He texted back and said he would come out Thursday May 9th. at 4 pm. Unfortunately I had to cancel due to having to take my sick dog to the vet. I texted and requested another time for him to come out and and he replied he could come out Monday May 13th or Tuesday May 14th and I replied back that either day was fine. I've never heard anything back since. I even texted again Thursday May 16th to ask if he was coming to quote me or not and he never responded back to me. It has now been almost three weeks since my first contact with this company and nothing. Fine, I'm not going to keep texting and beg you to come quote me and take my hard earned money. We used Glenny's painting to paint our new house and kitchen cabinets. Reviews were overall pretty good and pricing was great so we went with them. Well, you get what you pay for, I suppose. Very sloppy work, see pictures. Also, I insisted that they take off the hardware before painting the cabinets. This is the only way the cabinets turned out half-way decent, except for one area, which clearly was not sanded well and paint came with a simple touch. They also put a hole in my ceiling and just spackled over it, and were just going to leave it, until I, again, insisted something be done about it. The ended up painting over it very quickly before wrapping everything up and leaving quickly to get to their next job. The paint they used was not the same color as my regular ceiling paint. They did not remove all of the wall outlet covers and painted on them. Some of the kitchen cabinet drawers were not re-installed correctly. They must have left a wet paint bucket outside on my patio because now there is also a new paint ring on the patio. Just blatant disregard for my property. If you need a quick, cheap job, then they'll get it done for you, but don't waste your time if you're looking for quality read more

I debated for a while on whether to leave a review or not but at the end of the day I did not receive quality work and I have to look at it every day. I hired this company to paint my entire house. This was not a small project, therefore, not a small price. You can see cracks, the drywall tape pulling away from the wall and literally every single nail head in the drywall all through the house. It is my understanding that with a good job none of these things should be present. On top of this my bathroom floors were ruined and there is a spot in the bathroom that isn't even painted. Above all of this one of the employees clogged my upstairs toilet (number 2 mind you) and left it there. I have no idea how long it was there because they were here for days and I rarely use that bathroom. A paying customer had to plunge another adults poop. Disgusting!! I would never hire them again for this very reason. They did not deserve what I paid. Crap work and crap left in my toilet for me to clean up. read more

I'm sorry guys, I was not impressed at all. I was in a time crunch and didn't have time to get estimates so I had to use Yelp reviews to get the job done in a timely manner. I explained that the previous owner was a smoker therefore I needed everything painted to help get rid of the smell. I was told that he would use a special base to help cover the smell. I asked about the vents, was told don't worry, they will be painted and look brand new. The kitchen and a bathroom was not going to be painted right away due to wall paper and redecorating. I didn't question the estimate because like I said, it was a time sensitive job. I sent him an email with my color choices for the rooms.. no questions were asked by them. Ok, first.. was supposed to start on a Monday, that didn't happen because they were running late on the previous job. Second. I let them in at 8 am as I was working during that time. When I came at the end of the day. I was floored. They used an eggshell finish .. all I could see was this shine on all my walls... he tried to tell me it was a matte..really? Then said, you didn't want this finish? But guess what, my fault because I didn't have it written down, guys get it writing!! I didn't realize that painting only includes walls. Not doors or frames, not closets.. which all were filthy... Large gauges on walls not spackled, I could see through the paint on some of the walls and had to call their attention to all this. And oh yes extra for spackling curtain rod holes. Why none of this was ever mentioned from the beginning is beyond me and for the price I paid.. oh and one more thing.. He asked for half down the first day..only told me at that moment. Luckily I had my checkbook with me. Was it because I'm a woman? I've done plenty of business on my own and I never write a bad review because I understand this is their livelihood..but I am still upset every time I walk into my new home.. I had given them the balance on day 2.. with them to finish up the work and let themselves out. They never even called to see if I was satisfied with the corrections I asked them to make.. When they did come out, they acted like they didn't want to be there and just wanted to get the visit over quickly.
