This is regarding Whitehall Family Medicine. Suggestion would be to shut it down or provide full time service. Residents have to travel all the way to Granville for lab work. Many are older with no transportation. Appointments are impossible to get. Hospital policy of sending patients to Urgent Care has hurt you. The staff is wonderful and do the best they can with resources available. What did you do to Dr Sharma? She was excellent and now leaving? We- Many of us are TIRED of changing providers. ER wait was at least 6 hours. I was admitted. The nursing staff for room T203d was amazing - Particularly Angela, Julie, and Grace. They have a team attitude regarding the patient that was priceless to me. My attending physician: Julian Marynczak was always on top of all the nurses notes, procedures, changes in med's - so grateful for his service to me as well. There was a Dr. on call (Dr. Scalia) that I kept trying to have him involve himself in a way that would make me feel he was more part of my team as well.. to no avail. For instance, talked with him twice and had to repeat myself on questions asked and answered the day before (I did point this out), he actually said out loud that he was following a standard (dude - if the data says skip past the standard and do more to look at all the data coming in - please feel free Doctor to do that), actually that last really summed up what I saw was a complete lack of attention to me as a patient - a direct opposite of what I experienced with Marynczak. Internal politics: I had a cat scan (twice) that pointed to a significant issue that was directly on point to the issue I was experiencing (not my first rodeo with this) and one ultrasound done by a young lady that insisted on concentrating on the wrong side (I pointed this out to her, to my nurses afterward, and to the doctors) - yet - her report trumped the 2 cat scans? Because she came up with a recurrent old issue (ovarian cyst), that I assured everyone - I've had more than 20 of those - stopped being a deal after the 3rd one and my diverticulitis with abcess should not have been overlooked for that thing. Again - wrong side of the body anyway. Another issue I did not appreciate being put in the role of bad guy was a roomie situation. New roomie had a husband that apparently was going to spend the night. This was during my 2nd night there. They show up, after visiting hours, with husband and huge cpap machine. I was feeling vulnerable already and asked the nurse was he spending the night - yes and she asked me wasn't I asked about it beforehand - no I was not. I told her, tell me any reason, because I'm trying to have grace, why I should be empathatic towards his staying - she had already wondered and asked the same of the charge nurse and she was not given any reason. Ok then No I'm not ok. To emphasize this, lol, my body then barely made it back to room to throw up. It was a bad night. Then he wakes up wife and said he has to go home because roomie doesn't want him there. Lovely. Then, all night that cpap machine was going off. I was exhausted. Next day, I kid you not, I told my family, via text, this roomie needed to film her life and present it to a telenovella producer because they might enjoy having a white family that writes their own scripts. All day they were speaker phone talking (I literally could not hear my own tv). Her daughter blackmailing her to buy her a new couch so she can take better care of her mama (my roomie), her other daughter tattling on her brother, her brother denying the tattling allegations and being called a liar by his mother. I'm telling you - I heard it all crystal clear. Btw, the "kids" were all over 30. So, I took a long shower. lol But let me end with the emphasis!!! that all those nurses, nurses aides, support staff, cleaning, dietary folks, and my PA made me feel they were absolutely there to be on my team. I went to ER with the same symptoms I've had an was admitted for 6 days. The symptoms came back and the ER PA told me they wouldn't admit me because making sure I wasn't sick would be taking from the hospital resources! They left me in a back room for hours suffering not checking on me. The quality of care i received in the ER was sub par and that's a stretch! I won't mention any names but this PA talked down to me on a previous occasion during my sickness. I will never go back unless I'm on death's door read more

Glens Falls hospital Does not know the difference between your ear and your Ass I went in for a ear infection when I passed out and ended up with a bill for a colonoscopy. I had a fever of 102* they told me they didn't have the equipment odoscope to look in my ear what kind of hospital does not have 20 of them. Update: My MRI for my neck and spine were done yesterday- unrelated to this other appointment I had previously rated them on- but the team of 3 people were AMAZING! I have contrast dye allergy, and they had my medication plan set up with me ahead of time, so that I did not get sick this time! They played my favorite music during the MRI and they had my reports and disc ready that same day. Great job guys! read more

I am going to take legal action .the facts were presented to the doctor and he ignored them. The doctor then performed dangerous and unnecessary tests. When I told them my girlfriend was dehydrated from dry heaving for 15 hours and that is why we came to the er . The doctor pressed on abdomen and Caused her pain . The pain was brought on by the vomiting I know this .the doc says she may have intestinal issues KNOW we had a Dye test done last month because she had a severe pain attack and went to the hospital in an ambulance. They didn't find anything.I. Now we go the Hospital because she is badly dehydrated.the doctor focuses on the abdominal pain and not only ignores the fact of severe dehydration for the next 5 hours but injects her with sedatives and prepares her the dye contrast test but when she still is basically unconscious but wiggling her wrestles legs wildly the doc decides he wants to induce a chemical coma now for this unbearable test when I protest he has security escort me out and this arrogant bully doesn't contact her son and does the test . Know surprise NOTHING WRONG I was down the block from the hospital I called and asked for information. There isn't any the receptionist can't find Her the doctors can hide a patient from people inquiring by manipulating the rules ok I wasn't at all surprised by the test results. She was Moved to icu . The people there called me and said I could come visit her but she unconscious.I went to see her . She looked dead . I was Glad to see her and the icu staff and a different doctor restored my Faith that some people in that hospital still are professionals and do listen and understand the fact that we are all in this together and there are certain things as good citizens and professionals in a respected institution you Can't do .I haven't been able to talk to the doctor who had me removed from the hospital and had the test done (I think a chemically induced coma is DANGEROUS)and like I told everyone it wasn't anything else overworked muscles was the cause of the pain. I was sent to the ER after X-rays detected a hip fracture after a skiing accident. Once through the ER, everything moved quickly and every single staff member was courteous, competent and accommodating. Much to my surprise, my room was quite nice, the food was actually good, and the nurses were wonderful. My surgeon explained fully what the surgery would entail and my hip was replaced the next morning. Since that was earlier than had been scheduled, my wife couldn't see me when she arrived in the morning, but staff went above and beyond to reunite us. All in all, I now have a very high opinion of the hospital and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone. read more

To post this review, I had to give a star.. If it wasn't for that they would get nothing. You can wait in the waiting room for hours upon hours without being seen. When you are finally seen, it's without compassion or caring. They don't give you the time that you deserve, so you wonder what the hell was taking them so long while you're sitting in the emergency room for hours with 2 other people. I understand there's other things going on in the back and they have ambulances coming in, but there's no way that they have that many people coming in behind the scenes. I would never go here again. I had the best experience for my surgery at Glens Falls Hospital. I was amazed at how friendly everyone was. From registration to surgical unit. Everyone was so caring and compassionate. The food was so good! Best food ever in a hospital. When I needed help they were there! I don't remember everyone's name but KUDOS to the 4th floor West!!!! There were folks walking the halls dressed as carolers. They had an accoustic guitar. It was amazing. Everyone was clapping from there rooms who couldn't walk to watch. It was a long drive there. My surgical team was OUTSTANDING. Vascular is the BEST!! read more

My Mom waited over 6 hours in the waiting area and then taken for a cat scan failure to realize that my mother had one 2 weeks prior. The care as well as giving unnecessary tests. It's one of the worst hospitals ever. If my mother was up to it, I would have flown her to the west coast where there's the best doctors who truly care about their patients. read more

2 and a half hours sitting in the ER waiting room so far. Wife passed out at work and was dealing with a ton of issues. While waiting she almost passed out again. They gave her a wheelchair and moved us to the other waiting room. Whenever I asked someone how much longer they say they have no way of knowing and to be patient. If you need help call 911 and have the ambulance take you to albany med. It's a shit show here. Finally in after 3 hours. I was Lucky enough to get PA Dennis Small! Wow he took his time with me and explained everything! I was in the ER for no longer than an hour and 15 minutes! There's so many resources out there but you won't give any in fact you don't want to help anyone there's so many people out there like myself that are less fortunate than I am that have disabilities that gets stuck in your facility or a regular facility or just a plain old boarding house or homeless shelter because of you people that are in wheelchairs and can't even move or even speak for themselves or advocate for themselves that you just stick in regular average everyday places like mha or OMH when in reality our kind of people can't survive that kind of life if I can't and I ended up in a group home and I have special needs and I never have to worry about you again then there's people that are worse off than me or wheelchair bound who may have to lay in a bed the rest of their lives be bathed and cleaned and fed clothes change and have everything done for them and yet you just sit there and you watch everything that's going on and you don't even care about your individuals you don't offer any supports for the kind of people like me or everybody that's worse off than me and several times worse than them you sat there and you care for us like we're regular everyday people and average class citizens well we're not I'm in a group home and I'm surrounded by the staff and it's a family it's a house and a family setting I was told you're part of a family now you're not considered what you were considered in another group home which is a client or a patient they consider you part of their family when you're in one of those homes that's what they consider you or a resident some of them say and call you family the staff are very generally nice and very sweet and special needs opwdd group homes however you guys like to send people to very bad places like myself that we shouldn't have to go through people like Us can't survive in situations like you put us in we're actually surrounded by our staff and comforted and loved and accepted no matter what we do what we say or what we go through how we feel or what kind of problems we have you on the other hand seem to find everything you can wrong with us and you seem to be hateful you seem to want to do things that are hurtful for us rather than help us this needs to stop all I ever wanted was for my voice to be heard and it has because I never have to be in your care again cuz I have character special needs and they took you off my chart completely in fact you're not on my paperwork with them because they didn't sign it because they are my legal guardians and power of attorney and healthcare proxies and they're in control of my finances you didn't do a good enough job helping and supporting people like me and people worse off than me people in Arc people in CWI people in Tri-County and all the other resources out there that are related to that etc etc etc I don't even know how you can live with the decisions you're making people like us are sometimes the most colorful people you'll ever meet in different ways that you can never understand because you're too used to dealing with regular life we're not regular life when are you going to wake up and realize All that time I was saying this stuff I was trying to get my voice heard and everybody else's that's like me and a lot worse off or people like me that have died in your care I have case management and got through the front door process and I'm never going to have to worry about seeing you damage all those other disabled people's lives again or any of those LGBT pride people that are my own family I'm transsexual I don't identify as trans female I identify as female and I have a trans partner who went through surgery so technically I guess you could call us lesbian we love each other you want to know why because we both have issues and we're both in special needs and all you want to do that is sit there and hurt innocent people when are you going to realize that our kind of people have more needs than you can actually help you can't stick us where you've been sticking us Rather than sitting there and putting us somewhere where we shouldn't be or in some respite house or DSS facility that's harmful that can cause very detrimental consequences to our physical health mental health and emotional health especially of those of us have tourettes are a lot worse some people like me have a lot worse they have brain issues and heart issues one thing goes wrong they're gone the stress alone could take them When are you going to stop treating disabled people like absolute garbage and actually talk to their workers from those places read more

My mother was awaiting surgery for many hours, and they kept changing the time when her surgery was going to be performed. I called the Nursing Station and told them I'm her daughter and I live in another state, I just wanted to find out if she was ok. They would "NOT" give me any information. Also, they said we could only tell her friend who is overseeing her health. I was beyond upset. I told the nurse, I guess it doesn't mean anything that I'm her daughter. My cousin's husband was referred to The Glens Falls ER by urgent care with severe chest pain. His wife insisted on driving him though they suggested an ambulance. Just to get him there quicker. (Not a good idea, but she is not a medical person) The ER did not treat him as a cardiac patient or do a screening EKG but left him waiting til the pain was unbearable for 2 hours. When he complained, they said, "You have to wait you turn." Well yes, he had a MI, his enzymes were sky high and he is waiting for emergency surgery at St. Pete's. 3 years ago, they left my mother in law with intractable end stage cancer pain without pain medication for a whole night. read more

Update: Turns out that the compression garment was put on backward. The cup that was supposed to be supporting my chin was on the back of my head, while my neck was left exposed and allowed to swell unhindered. The only thing in front was the velcro strap stretched taut across my throat making it hard to even swallow. It also added to the swelling. The pain was huge, and unnecessary. I'd like to inflict this on the dummy who did it to me. Maybe then you'd pay attention and be more careful next time. Personally, I think you should be fired. read more

I had 2 sessions of physical therapy in the Cambridge NY location. Jan and ?Feb 2023. PT was fine BUT not the billing! I paid my co-payment each time, on the spot and have the cancelled checks to prove it. I keep getting bills for $100 nevertheless. After spending several occasions speaking with their Chicago (!) billing office , getting the run around, each person telling me it was somebody else's department, I was finally told I owe nothing further. Great, problem solved......or so I thought. Today, 5 months after my PT, I get yet another bill for $100, telling me the account is past due, etc. along with a threat to put me in collection. Long story short, I am not willing to pay an additional $100 for THEIR clerical error. FWIW, I have gone to PT at this location on 3 separate occasions , a few years apart and EACH time I think I am square and paid up, I get yet more bills dunning me for more $. My advice, go elsewhere for physical therapy. Just not worth the hassle of spending hours on the phone read more

Absolutely the worst experience ever....... AGAIN! Tonight I was physically escorted out of the ER. My mother who is 90 went to the ER because she tested positive for Covid, and was in distress. My wife was in the ER with her and when I arrived I was told I could not see her! My wife the only one that was allowed to be with her, even if she left , I couldn't see her. I protested this ridiculous policy, and was escorted out. My mother was DISCHARGED!!! with no place to go!! She lives with my brother, who also has Covid and confined to bed. I have health issues of my own and contracting Covid may be fatal for me. . My wife explained all this and was told that she needed 24 hour care but they would not admit her. She is so weak she can barely walk, hasn't eaten or had water in over a day . They really don't care, the attitude was , well she's old and just let her die at home. PATHETIC! I hope someday these " people " experience this same level of care. read more

Glens Falls Hospital is a place I worked and went to for care in the last year. While working their I did not like very much of what I saw from the clinicians and nurses in the unit I was in when it came to patient care. Patient abandonment happened alot I will say and they can try to blame it on the staffing issues but it wasn't always cause of staffing issues. I'd love to go into detail on that but I don't think I can and still get this comment posted, so I won't. The only time I ever noticed management in the unit really acting like they cared about the image of the place and how everyone was acting and everything was when we would have investors visiting and scoping the place out to see whether or not the wanted to make a donation to the unit I worked in or not. Glens Falls Hospital is a not for profit organization so they run off donations. read more

My mother was recently in the ER, ICU and then on Floor 3 in GF Hospital. She was discharged on 6/18/24. The care was fine up until the aggressive nature and dealings with the case manager, Heather Giorgianni. I witnessed her dealings with the patient (my mother) threatening that if she didn't do the PT (Physical therapy) the insurance would not cover the costs of her hospital stay. She also used pressure techniques firmly saying you have to pick 5 rehab facilities within 24 hours and if you don't again the insurance would not cover your stay. Once the form was submitted to Heather the morning of 6/18/24 my mother was discharged to Warren center for rehab and nursing around 4pm that same day. We walked into Warren Center Rehab and there are signs posted that there's an active covid positive outbreak (My mother was on oxygen). The staff was ok but the place was incredibly run down, there was dirty garbage in the room, someone else's dirty socks hanging in the patient room's bathroom. It is baffling that Heather Giorgianni allowed someone on oxygen with asthma and respiratory issues to be discharged to this place (Covid positive outbreak). I would be surprised if this facility passed a basic healthcare inspection. It's truly sad that it all boils down to money and Heather Giorgianni wanted my mother to be out of the hospital ASAP regardless of where she was going. I would NOT recommend this hospital. read more

Doctor, Hospitalist and the Cardiologist were outstanding. They were decisive and understood my complex medical condition. The nurse, Belvin, was also terrific. They saved my father's life and the level of care he has received has been top notch. I read previous reviews and was concerned and have empathy for others who have had a bad experience for their loved ones. My father, who has stage 4 cancer, was admitted to the ER with severe internal GI bleeding. He was quickly admitted, setup with transfusions and evaluated by Dr. Ahmed. He prepared us for the worst as they could not immediately detect the source of bleeding and it was dire, but he did perform an endoscopy and small miracle found the source, a protruding vein in the stomach wall and closed it. My father was admitted to ICU and the nurses and staff there have been warm, informative, supportive, and knowledgeable. The support has been above and beyond. I am grateful for all that they do and to Dr. Ahmed for his expertise, care, and skill, and the kind and skilled nurses and staff in the ER and ICU who have been taking care of him. read more

We drove my brother 50 miles to the ER at the advice of one of his nurses. He sat in a room that was crowded, unorganized, and nasty from 1pm until 8pm before going in. This nurse said he needed a hospital bed. A young doctor decided that he was very sick because of the cancer treatments and to go home. Thank God one of the older nurses disagreed and got him a room. Yesterday I arrived at the ER at Glen's falls by ambulance, reason for that is living 40 Miles away and having COVID and getting no sleep for 2days. I was checked in at approx.5 PM. After being talked to by a condescending nurse and made to feel like a child when asked a question of her this has happened before to me in this place.after waiting over 4 hrs in the waiting room and watching other people come in check in get called and then going home. I counted at least 21 people who came in after me,got treatment and went home. I decided to go home I was late for My COVID meds and had to get a ride home. As I was leaving I was approached by staff I thought maybe they were going to see me now. No he just wanted me to sign a release. Real caring healthcare facilities with people that are professional wouldn't do that. I would recommend that if you can go to Saratoga it will worth it. read more

They deserve no stars at all. My husband brought my 5-year-old daughter there last night she was having tachycardia and was having trouble breathing. They did Xray's, blood work but kept sending them back out into their filthy waiting room. They waited for 4 hours out in the main waiting room, finally got into the room only to see there was only a bed (no pillow or blanket), no chair for my husband to sit. The nurse came in and my husband asked if she could have something to drink, thinking she was dehydrated because they have been there for so long. OVER AN HOUR LATER the nurse came back with a cup. The doctor finally came in and told him she needed medicine to lower her heart rate and in addition to that he said we could give her Tylenol and Advil and he would give detailed instructions on when to do that. AN HOUR AND A HALF LATER that SAME doctor came in to see how the heart medicine was working, THEY NEVER ADMINSTERED IT!!!! While waiting for the medicine my husband kept walking out into the hallway to get anyone's attention but the people, he had contact with only said they will "pass on his concern" of needing a nurse. I ended up having to call the hospitals operator twice to get someone's attention, only to have the nursing supervisor call me and basically push aside my concerns. He was like car salesman telling you how "great" the hospital is. I have never in my life had such a horrible experience at a medical facility. Now I have been to Glens Falls Hospital ER many times and I do know that things take time and they do get overwhelmed, but this was BEYOND ridiculous. Perhaps they should have taken all of that money that they put into their "registration area" and put it into beefing up room capacity in the ER. I will NEVER go to this ER ever again I would rather drive to Saratoga or Albany med to be seen. read more

My wife rushed me to ER because I could not urinate (Prostate problem). I was in a great deal of pain, and was wondering if it is backing up to my kidneys. After an almost 2-hour wait, with me pleading to be catheterized, I threatened to knock over every machine in the ER. Someone followed me back to my bed and did the catheterization. The next morning, my wife drove me to the VAS Hospital where I was told that they messed up the procedure at GFH. As a former hospital administrator, I know that hospitals affiliated with a medical school have a much higher level of care. Some years ago, Albany Med approached both Glens Falls and Saratoga hospitals offering to affiliate. G.F. refused, saying that they will go it alone. Saratoga accepted the offer; check evaluations and you will see that Saratoga way outpaces GFH. read more
