I found a 2019 Lexus GX 460 advertised on AutoTrader and also shown through my PenFed Credit Union vehicle-shopping/financing portal. The online listing showed the vehicle as silver with a black interior, with photographs that gave the impression of a completely different vehicle and condition. I drove to the dealership personally to see the vehicle. What I found was not what was advertised. The actual vehicle was white with a tan interior, and it had major scratches and visible evidence of previous accident damage that was not accurately represented by the listing photographs. The photographs appeared to me to be AI-generated or digitally altered, because they did not accurately represent the actual vehicle sitting at the dealership. I am keeping screenshots and documentation of the AutoTrader and PenFed listings as evidence of what was advertised. The salesperson I dealt with was Rich Chain. This was not a minor difference in appearance. The exterior color, interior color, photographs, and condition of the vehicle were materially different from what I was led to believe before making the trip to the dealership. Consumers deserve accurate photographs and truthful vehicle descriptions, especially when they are making financing and purchasing decisions based on an online listing. Take screenshots before visiting this dealership and independently verify that the vehicle you're being shown is actually the vehicle in the advertisement.
