They clearly were not. We had 4 pair of shoes that would have totaled close to $400, along with several name brand clothing items. He would not make eye contact with me and was extremely poor in his overall presentation--his statement when walking away was "I don't know what to tell you". The poor cashier looked shocked and apologized over and over, saying "I'm so sorry, he's the main manager and there's no one else above him or I would call someone else". Allegedly to prevent fraud a phone call was made to my residence to confirm that I in fact had purchased the items and because Academy Sports got a answering machine instead of a live person they canceled the order. Further review of my answering machine verified no call from Academy Sports ever took place. Therefore I had to place my order through Amazon. Academy Sports has the absolute worst customer service. I will NEVER purchase another item through this company. I would recommend any person that wants guaranteed delivery and excellent customer service should shop with any other company other than Academy Sports

I recently visited, wanting to find some new, slightly vintage-looking sneakers that I could dress up or down. After perusing the aisles for a while, I settled on some green, old-school looking Adidas. They didn't have my size but a slightly larger size that would still work. The staff asked if I needed help a couple of times without hovering, and when I checked out, they showed me how I could get an additional 20% off (without opening a credit card or anything like that). Happy with my choice, I will be back when I'm in need of other shoes too.

The store is always tidy and organized. Checking out is typically painless and DSW sends out coupons and gift cards for people that frequent their store. Shipping is free if you can't find the size you need at the store. Walked out today with a dressy black bootie and sandals to keep for warmer weather.

A lot of the stuff isn't cheap, let's be real, but so far it's all held up fairly well. We spent a little over an hour here just wandering around, taking a look at everything the store had to offer. Fitting rooms are spacious and well lit, plenty of selection for all types of needs. If you're at all familiar with the brand and they have what you're looking for, this is worth a stop for sure.
