I own a Lexus. They make great cars and really, REALLY crappy key fobs. This is the third fob that has disintegrated on me. The dealer is way to ridiculous for a new key. Plus, the guts of the fob work fine so I only needed a shell - no programming. I have purchased shell online in the past and taken the shell to a locksmith. This time I tried GLK. So I called them from a Google search and random selection. Within 2 minutes of discussion of what I needed, I had a solid quote and an appointment set for same day - actually an hour and a half from my call for them to come to my home. The quote was actually cheaper than me having provided my own shell. The technician arrived 5 minutes ahead of scheduled time and I had received a call from shop informing me that the tech would be arriving within the next ten minutes. The tech completed my key within 15 minutes and tested on my vehicle. All professional and perfectly executed. High marks!!! read more

I cannot recommend GLK highly enough. After making the very unfortunate decision to have AAA tow my vehicle to Wood & Fullerton Goodyear due to a worn out ignition lock cylinder, they not only charged me $95 dollars to diagnose the problem, but also gave me an estimate of over $600. Their estimate included a charge for researching the problem. After doing some research, I discovered that the repair shouldn't be nearly that expensive, and that it should really be done by a locksmith. I called around to half a dozen different locksmiths, and was given estimates ranging from $140 (GLK) up to $300. Since GLK had a good Yelp rating, I gave them a call, and they were incredibly friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The technician worked with my husband's schedule to meet him after work and completed the repair in about 20 minutes. I misheard the price quote over the phone yesterday. I thought he said $35 for the basic spare key without a remote and $135 for the key case (with my remote inside because my case was just cracked). When he showed up to do the work I explained to him what I wanted and I thought he understood that I didn't need a new remote, just the case part that the remote goes inside, and then a spare key without the remote. He didn't confirm to me the price for that service. Nothing was put in writing either. Since I had understood the total price to be $135 plus $35, I was shocked when he charged me $220 after he cut everything. He proceeded to argue with me and blame me for mishearing the quote over the phone and I was angry because he never confirmed the price for the service once he showed up. He didn't want to take any responsibility for the fact that we had both misunderstood each other. I was upset that he tried to humiliate me by playing my recorded call from yesterday back over the phone speaker to prove that I was wrong. I heard what was on the recorded line, but I had not repeated it back and with his accent and the background noise on the phone it had sounded to me like he said $35 and not $85. If I had known that I was getting a second key with a new remote instead of just the new case with my remote inside of it, I wouldn't have asked for a spare without a remote at that $85 price. After 15 minutes of arguing and him telling me he was losing money because he was having to talk to me he finally said he would refund the extra charge and just charge me $135 for the key with the remote. When I suggested to him that perhaps he should confirm with the customer the cost of what the service will be once he shows up, he gave me a long drawn out hypothetical story about if they did that then the customer would call the police on them!! What?!?! I'm happy that I'm getting a partial refund, but I'm still upset that I had to argue with him like that. I really can't recommend this company with this technician having this "the customer is wrong" attitude and trying to humiliate me. You would think a good business practice would be to give the customer some sort of written estimate since they don't verbally re-confirm on arrival and the prices aren't posted online. read more

Called three different locksmiths in town, as I needed an additional copy of a key for my car (2002 Subaru Legacy) and my girlfriend's car (2005 Nissan Xterra) as well as help unlocking a jammed glove box. GLK was the only locksmith that actually provided a reasonable quote and treated me like a human. I was able to schedule an appointment, they showed up on-time, and were very friendly and helpful. They are clearly dedicated to their profession and customer satisfaction. They carefully took their time to ensure that the keys they cut actually worked in all locks and they were able to quickly fix the glove box tumbler so I'd be able to both lock and unlock it without the same issue happening again. I lost my keys and my fob of my Chrysler Sebring 2004. I ordered a new fob online via Amazon (cheaper than the dealer). I told the person on the phone that I needed to program it and that I needed a new key as well. He gave me the quote on the phone. That day they were highly booked, so I made an appointment for two days after at my convenience (I had a spare key). They called me ahead that they were coming, we agreed to meet at my work. And in 20 minutes they were done. They had everything in a van (found it fantastic!) and voila! I paid with my credit card and they used Square to charge it. Everything clean, super professional!!! Recently purchased a used car that didn't come with the keyless entry keys, the dealer wanted to charge 136.00 for the key and 136.00 for programming. I called GLK and they didn't have the key in stock but would order if I paid a deposit. They charged 185.00 for the key plus programming. Still expensive but better than the dealer. They came to my job originally in Alpharetta and cut the key, they guy had a hard time programming so he said they can come to my house that evening and try again. Had been dealing with a broken lock for years and finally got fed up with not being able to lock my doors. Called them on Friday evening just looking for a quote. He not only gave me a quote, but also assured me that this is a common issue on my type of car and was glad to assist. He explained since it was Memorial Day weekend that he may be really busy as some of the staff was out of town and that he'd try his best to squeeze me in. On Saturday afternoon I got a call that a tech could be to my house in 30 min if I still wanted the service. I was totally surprised.
