I don't hang around Short North a lot, so I'm pretty unfamiliar with a lot of the stores around here. My friends and I popped in and the staff immediately greeted us. They have free coffee samples in the back! We browsed at the jewelry and my sister decided to buy a ring. Prices can be high and sometimes reasonable. But it's fair trade, so support that! I really liked the kids stuff and the handmade cards. You can find a lot of unique stuff here! I'd totally return! read more

I absolutely love browsing through shops likes this and I'm so glad I finally stopped into Global Gifts this afternoon. I was honestly walking over to Brassica for lunch but I couldn't help myself. I looked through the windows and saw so many cool things, I had to check it out. A lady who was running the shop for the afternoon greeted me right away. She was very welcoming and informed me on the fact that they offer items from over 40 countries from around the world. How cool is that?! It's crazy to think that someone in a far off land is making things from their bare hands that somehow make it to Columbus, Ohio. It feels good to know that my purchase is supporting fair wages, safe working conditions, etc. As I looked around, I discovered everything from jewelry and home goods, to toys and specialty foods. They even had coffee samples available towards the back. A lot of the things I saw were one-of-a-kind items that I know I can't find just anywhere. After taking a full loop around the store, I settled on a beautiful green ring. It fit my ring finger perfectly and I just had to have it! It was made in Peru and was about thirteen bucks. With the purchase of my ring, I opted to join their "Country Club" rewards program. Once you collect items from five different countries, you're eligible for 20% off an item of your choice. It's like a passport of some sort. I'm excited to build up my collection! I'll definitely be back here to visit and I imagine I'll be adding more to my jewelry collection. They had tons of amazing hand crafted jewelry! It was hard to settle on just one piece. This is definitely a great spot to look for a gift too. Wow! What a cool and amazing store! So glad we stopped in while walking the Short North. If you are an eco-conscious shopper this store is for you and it is a nonprofit business. Even if you aren't an eco-conscious shopper, this store has a ton of awesome items - especially if you are looking for a unique/one-of-a-kind gift. We spent a solid 30 minutes in the store, maybe more, because everything is worth looking at. Purses, hats, clothing, jewelry, coffee, home goods, and more! Learning where these products come from was a treat and love the fair trade/environmentally friendly commitment. Your receipt can be sent via email, printed, or both. Staff was nice and friendly. I went with a spoon rest for my kitchen which was crafted in Mexico. I could have bought a couple more things! read more

Wow is this place a gold-mine or what!??! I first stumbled upon this shop while exploring the city with my sister but this has become a favorite short north stop for me! If you're doing some last minute shopping or simply strolling through the short north, this is a perfect place to browse! The shop has almost anything you could hope for, from handmade jewelry, to fancy scarfs, essential oils, ornaments, handmade cards, tapestries, you name it, and it's probably here. It's definitely a spot for you if you're looking for a personalized gift or something you can't find anywhere else. The staff is very friendly and always greets and welcomes you as you enter the store. They provide you with information if you're interested in knowing about the items or the store in general but they also allow you to browse about as casually as you wish! Parking is limited and there are only meters nearby so be aware. This is definitely one of those shops you'll want to browse around for a while so keep that in mind when filling your meter. Also, don't be afraid to park further away and work your way up, this area of the short north has several hidden gems like this one, you'll be happy you did ! As with any of these fair trade shops the prices will be up there a bit but it is a very nice store with interesting goodies in there. I initially went in with the plan of just look and see but ended up buying a pair of earrings. But not just any regular pair of silver earrings, these were made with inlays of butterfly wings! I looked at the person who was helping me (very very nice woman) and she knew what I was about to ask. No butterflies were harmed in the making of the jewelry, they had already "gone" and their wings were being re-purposed. I'm going to keep believing that because I love my Blue Morpho earrings. read more

This is a lovely store! Besides the fact that it is nonprofit & is helping talented individuals build better lives for themselves & their community the customer service is impeccable. We were greeted the minute we walked in the door & was given a good explanation as to what Fair Trade means! Then the sales rep helped my indecisive toddler pick out a really interesting toy handed made in Kenya! He loves it & has been playing with it nonstop! I also grabbed a really unique ring for my mother. All the jewelry was so eye catching & because it is nonprofit everything I looked at was beyond reasonably priced!! read more
