Besides Homegoods and Target, Michael's is the other store I find myself wandering for hours. I…read morejust love crafts and this store in particular is pretty well stocked most of the time. They have tons of great door buster sales and frequently send coupons. Therefore, do yourself a favor and always come in with a coupon to save yourself a couple of bucks. You can easily find yourself spending heaps of money here. The downsides: Access to this Michael's can get a bit tricky and annoying when there is a lot of traffic on Turkey Lake Road. Whenever I've been in the store looking for something in particular that I can't get to through the virtual store map on the app, I find it hard to get help from the associates. Otherwise, they are super friendly when you do find them.

This location is tucked inside of another shopping area. They do have a large parking lot, however,…read moreeverything is a little bit of a funky layout so be sure to pay attention to where you're going. When you get inside they do have carts over to the left hand side of the entry. The store itself is clean and well-kept. There were some things in random areas, but that's probably due to customers putting things back in the wrong area. The biggest issue here is the cash register area. They have not updated it so that it's one line for all the registers. They still have the old fashioned way of doing it where every register is step. There was a person who is returning items and this caused the line to back up to about 10 people deep. With only one cashier. They did bring up another cashier but it really didn't help move things along very quickly. The store itself looks like it's a little bit dated as well. I think the whole thing could probably just use a facelift and a bit of a modernization to match its sister stores in the area and it would do just fine. Overall: B An update to the way the registers are set up and a little bit of a modernization and this place could easily be a 4-star and up.

Two years ago, I did business with Orlando Apparel and had a wonderful experience and outcome…read more Unfortunately, the experience this year was awful. The organization I represent ordered over 10K in merchandise (3 different t-shirt designs and 2 different hat designs) for our biennial reunion which was held recently in Scottsdale, AZ. My first concern with using a local company was shipping costs and Nathan quoted us very fair shipping expenses, so we made the decision to use his company for a second time. I started the ordering and design process in March. At first he responded quickly, but after he had our money, his communications were sparse and consisted of "story telling". For example: I will send you photos, my wife is taking professional photos of the merchandise to increase your orders, I was out of town at a funeral, the items have been picked up by the shipping company and will be delivered within the week, I will send you proof of shipping...all stories. We paid 50% up front and the balance was to be paid upon completion of the job. He charged us the remaining balance before we saw the merchandise. In fact, we didn't see the merchandise until it was delivered to Scottsdale. We labored through his many excuses. I made repeated trips to the warehouse and he was usually gone. His employee knew little about our order. We were to receive all merchandise by June 16 for our July reunion. The items were still trickling into Scottsdale on July 21st. I had to involve the Fraud department for the state of FL and for Orange County to assist us. We also received many excuses about "lost" boxes and storage costs he said he incurred. The hats were of a good quality and the embroidery was also good. Our reunion T-shirt was the correct design but not what we ordered. We ordered screen print and we received a vinyl print on the back of the shirt. I like to use local businesses and I especially like to support former Boone High School students - Nathan is a graduate. We won't use them again, and sadly, even though our next reunion is back along the FL coastline, we will go elsewhere for our merchandise. BEWARE!

A lot of ego up front but offered no solutions when it came time to deliver the actual product…read more I wanted to get some custom embroidered hats made, and decided to go with a local company so I could talk face to face with someone and establish a long term relationship. First I walked into their "showroom" which is a small room with a few less than impressive examples of their work. I was greeted by a younger female employee behind a counter. So I walked over and explained what I was there to do. Right away a women folding clothes in the showroom who seemed like the owner, would cut in and talked over the other employee and took over the conversation at times. I wasn't sure who to talk to. I had stated I wanted to use a specific hat, which I had brought with me for reference. I wanted to make sure I could use this exact hat. The conversation shifted to other hat options which was confusing. I already knew what I wanted. After retrieving a few other hats from the back that I didn't ask to see. I asked if these other hat options were less expensive and the owner replied, "no they're about the same price". It didn't make any sense to me. I was pretty clear I wanted to use a specific hat. The girl behind the counter looked them up on her computer to make sure they had them available. While she was doing that another customer walked in who was picking up their order. Both women who were working with me completely shifted their focus to this new customer for the next 10-15 minutes. I was completely ignored. I waited patiently for them to wrap it up and refocus on my job so we could finally continue forward with the my order. Next I showed them my logo design on my phone and they quickly stated they could replicate my logo without any issues. I clearly stated that I didn't want a version of my logo. I wanted my exact logo. None of this seemed to be a problem. They explained that part of the reason they were superior to most embroidery companies was because of their process and how their graphic designer was so good and he he digitized logos specifically for embroidery. They stated they charged $45 per logo just to digitize. So I paid them $45 per design for a total of $90 to digitize my logos up front. I asked them to email me photos of what they call a "sew out" or embroidery samples of my logo for approval once they were available before we started the actual job. Before I left I stated that I wanted to see an example of a quality embroidered hat they had created. The owner walked over to a display wall and pulled a hat off of the shelf. As soon as she looked inside the hat she made a comment that the hat she had picked up had issues and was a mistake and it shouldn't be on display. Then she put it right back on the shelf. I should have known right there it wasn't going to work out. It was a sign of things to come. A few days went by and I was emailed the sew out samples of my logo and they were absolutely terrible. The sew outs/samples were done on what looked like a cloth towel which is nothing like the material on a hat. I made a comment that the samples were not acceptable and I was basically told my logo was too complex. Absolutely no solutions from them whatsoever to move forward. It was either accept a terrible looking product or get nothing done. I was planning on spending over $1,000 on my test run of hats, which they were aware of but they just didn't care. I had stated if things went well I would be back to buy more long term. I guess they have bigger companies to work with because their attitude was very dismissive. In the end they were very unprofessional, talked smack about other companies while they coincidentally couldn't handle a simple job, and were expensive. Not to mention they took $90 of my money and I received nothing in return. Just a big hassle and a waste of time. Orlando Embroidery Solutions made me feel like my logo was a problem. The fact is there are different quality embroidery machines and the machines they use can't handle a lot of intricate work you see done in the apparel industry. I'm sure the digitizing process is important but equally important are the embroidery machines that are used. A month later I found a place online called Broken Arrow out of Iowa and they were extremely easy to deal with. Not only did they accurately replicate my logo without any issues, they offered a much better price and they didn't charge a set up fee or logo digitizing fee. Only when I received my hats from this place did I realize the problem was not my logo. There's a lot of options in the world when it comes to embroidery solutions especially with the internet. Do yourself a favor and avoid Orlando Embroidery Solutions if you have a logo that's even close to technical. Their machines can't handle the detail and they're employees won't help you find a solution.
