Dr. Tucker has given me a new lease on life. After meniscus surgery 4 years ago caused all kinds of pain and over compensating in my walk creating extreme back pain, I have been through various procedures from alternative body work to finally ablations which helped greatly but I still had problems walking any distance and was told there was nothing else to be done. This is a VERY unprofessional office. I called and made an appointment for consult (cost = hundreds of dollars). Payment would be out of pocket because they do not accept any insurance. Never spoke with the doctor. Then I found a doctor in my insurance network who offers the same therapy. I called and informed them of this and said I was going to use the doctor in my network because of the cost. Their email response? "Good luck with that". Huh?? I called multiple times to understand what they meant by that. No answer. I wonder if the doctor is aware of the obnoxious staff that work for her?? Guess what guys. Customer service matters. Dr Tucker really takes her time seeing if she can help with PRP. My husband and I am both trying it. He had a torn hamstring, not bad enough for surgery, but was excruciating after 1 hour driving . Based on other Yelp reviews, I had an atypical experience here. The office is clean and bright and everyone was very kind and caring. The Dr. was 30 mins late to my appointment due to a personal emergency. No big deal, life happens. Unfortunately she had a really difficult time drawing my blood and had to try multiple arms and spots before succeeding. I've never had this problem elsewhere with blood draws. The entire process was very expensive, very painful, took a long time and literally did nothing to improve my back pain. I was told someone from their office would call me in a day or two to see how I was doing but I never heard from anyone -- its been over a year so I'm guessing they aren't going to call lol. Dr. Gloria Tucker was amazing and a breath of fresh air! She really takes her time to help her patients, which is unheard of nowadays. I had a major injury that affected me differently due to Ehlers Danlos Hypermobility Syndrome. And Dr. Tucker was the first physician that understood my body and how to help me. She helped me find an Osteopath to reset my joints and then I did PRP for my neck. I had a whiplash injury causing nerve damage falling in the house. I had done PRP for my neck before, focusing on the facet joints. This time, we focused on the ligaments and strengthening them. When I had PRP before, they took a very small sample of blood, and the procedure was very fast. They only injected me a few times. What a pleasant experience with Dr. Tucker! I came to her after dealing with debilitating lower back pain for more than a year and a half. After being told by my healthcare provider that my hip was "not going to get any better", that I would "need to adjust" and moderate what I did physically, I began to research alternative treatment, discovering PRP and Dr. Tucker. Three or four years ago I discovered Dr. Tucker and went to her for a pain that had "appeared out of nowhere" in my left hip and nearly prevented me from walking. Being extremely active (and extremely resistant to pharmaceutical drugs and surgery) I had researched PRP and Prolotherapy extensively. ONE VISIT to Dr. Tucker, utilizing Prolo, Prolozone and PRP, the combination therapy resulted in nearly immediate complete healing. Since my shoulder was bothering me as well, she also treated that and the pain resolved, as well. Dr. Tucker knows what she is doing. I had no X-rays or MRI's to help her along. She had me walk down the hall while observing and asking questions, then examined me in-depth to determine which areas and movements were painful. Truly skilled and virtually miraculous in results. I'm incredibly grateful for the care i received from Dr. Tucker. She helped me dramatically when other MD's and approaches failed repeatedly. I'm definitely a success story after 4 weeks. PS, I'm 52 years old. I'm anxious as can be about getting needles and Dr. Tucker made it far easier than I would have expected. Step 1 - take blood. I barely felt it which is a testament to her skill with giving needles. Step 2 - Again, anxious about getting needles but her demeanor and clear communication about what to expect really helped to reduce my anxiety about the process. Her website is also very informative and the process followed that information to a tee. I was referred to her by a close friend (doctorate in physical therapy) who extensively researched dr's that specialize in prolotherapy (he had it done previously) and on paper suggested Dr. Tucker. My actual experience with her was fabulous. But in the end it's all about results. Prior to the procedure I couldn't sit in a chair at all, had to work lying down in bed, was having trouble walking (in fact I was tilted significantly to the side when walking ) and my engagement with my 5 your old was severely impacted. I would also feel bone on bone movement that triggered intense pain which is now gone. I was getting desperate and willing to try anything trying to avoid surgery which I was contemplating. I can't say too many good things about PRP and Dr. Tucker, both. I agree completely with the woman in the other review who said it was like a miracle cure. For me, I guess it was three or four run-of-the-mill lower back injuries over the course of 20 years such that by last year I couldn't sit down for the excruciating pain and my whole "spare tire" area just ached 24 hours a day. It was totally debilitating and I was desperate. I tried everything I could find short of surgery, even a crazy diet and a lady who read my aura - I didn't care about anything except getting relief. Finally, enter PRP which I found online in a state of total demoralization and despair. Two treatments and I'm back to 80% - a miracle! I'm going back in to Dr. Tucker next week and I'd bet money that my back will be back to 99% in ten days. Not to mention, I had a wicked rotator cuff tear from a skiing accident which was, as is commonly known, ridiculously painful and ridiculously slow to heal. Eight months later I did one PRP treatment and literally OVERNIGHT the pain was gone. Another miracle. Dr. Tucker treated me with PRP for two areas - left shoulder and lower back pain - after I was t-boned in a motor vehicle accident in late 2016. I felt incredibly nervous about this but I was in constant searing pain and had been debilitated for over a year. I was unable to go back to my regular yoga practice or any other strength training workouts because of the intense pain. I met with Dr. Tucker for a consultation and was thrilled with her thoroughness and bedside manner. I visited Dr. Tucker for several tears in the meniscus in my knee after going the usual route with doc of xray, MRI, PT and possibility of cortisone shot (which I did not get due to it providing just short term relief). Nothing helped. PT was a joke. At age 66, there was not much hope of the tears healing and surgery was not recommended due to increased risk of arthritis. My mental state was pretty low as yoga and cycling were my happy times and I felt like I was looking at a future without them or being modified so greatly as to not being joy-filled. My first meeting with Dr. Tucker was great. She was so warm and sincerely curious about my injury. She spent a long time examining my knee, identifying the tender spots, listening to my history, and really getting a sense of who I was and what I was missing. She recommended that I go ahead with the PRP. The PRP procedure was completely painless. After Dr. Tucker marked all the painful spots in and around my knee, she withdrew the blood. Then she numbed up my knee really well with a skin-numbing spray followed by small injections of lidocaine. Then, she returned with the centrifuged platelet-laden plasma and injected it in all the marked spots. The first several days, my knee was warm and swollen, which is what Dr. Tucker had told me it would be. After that, my knee felt almost the same as it had prior to the PRP procedure. At 4 weeks, I began to feel some relief and by 5 1/2 weeks, my knee was back to normal! Now I am back on my bike and on the mat, doing yoga. I always feel compassionately-cared for, by the skilled hands and heart of Dr. Gloria Tucker. She listens with great depth and precision to my description of what's ailing me during our consultation, takes adequate time to review the imaging and reports I bring in for her to see and then creates a treatment plan with Prolotherapy (with or without PRP) that has enabled both my shoulder and hip pain to heal. Another thing to be aware of for those of you who may be researching the cost, side effects and other issues associated with a potential surgery, as opposed to Prolotherapy: Prolotherapy with dextrose or Platelet Rich Plasma does not require general anesthesia. That, in my opinion, is a real advantage for many, because general anesthesia which is required for most surgeries can cause or advance dementia in fragile older people who are prone to it. That is a fact that most orthopedic surgeons will not freely share with potential surgical candidates. With Prolo/PRP, there is no cutting of ligaments or tendons, which is normal in surgical operations and can cause painful scaring and can take six months or more to begin to heal. My shoulder and hip both became significantly less painful and much more mobile four to five weeks after Prolo/PRP treatments by Dr. Tucker and I haven't needed another treatment since and it's been nearly a year since my hip treatment and six months for my shoulder, so my body has held the treatments beautifully. I'd like to make one recommendation: If you've been diagnosed with lymphedema in either your arm or leg, or may be at risk for such, be sure to check with your lymphedema specialist before getting any injections in that limb. I'd like to mention that Dr. Tucker's fees for treatment are extremely reasonable, compared to other practitioners, and also, the cost of surgery (10 to 15 times cheaper than surgery, with few or none of the side effects that surgery can entail. And many surgeries have low efficacy rates, compared to the gains in mobility and pain reduction of Prolo/PRP. Do your own research and check out hip, shoulder and knee surgery results compared to Prolo/PRP.) I had arthoscopic surgery on the meniscus in my left knee about 14 years ago. The surgery helped a lot, but my knee was never 100%. I started trail running a few years ago and the knee really started giving me trouble.
