I can't say enough amazing things about Glory Days! Delicious homestyle food, fun atmosphere, 1950s music and memorabilia, and a great staff! My mom and I took a small detour to visit here on our way back to Indy from Evansville. We ordered so much food. It was all delicious. I had catfish and fries, she had pulled pork. I also got a side of delicious homemade green beans and we had fried mushrooms & zucchini as an appetizer. All of it was amazing. The strawberry cake, fresh made that day, was like nothing I'd ever had. They have a wide variety of fresh homemade desserts and I wanted to try one of everything. I highly recommend Glory Days. It's worth a detour if you are driving through the area, or if you're local, get there now! read more

This is a neat diner with A LOT of paraphernalia (especially sports). The food is very cheap but tasty. I was excited to see that a Monte Cristo was on the menu as they are hard to find. I worked at this place for 5 years. Over the years I've witnessed the owner, Monika Kirkling, abuse teenage waitresses, accuse employees of stealing, refusing to give them their checks, etc. the place looks cool at face value, but if you saw behind the scenes, you'd never eat there again. There's black mold in the coolers, standing stagnant water in the keg fridge, the drains in the sink overflow nightly because it's so clogged with gunk. There is a hole in the kitchen floor that was "fixed" with plywood and honestly could fall through at any moment. We were not allowed to mop the bar floors because they're real wood. They haven't been mopped in over 3 years when I mopped them last. The ONLY thing holding this place together is the employees who are treated like absolute garbage. Don't waste your time or money at this place. read more

This is a good friendly hometown restaurant. Employees are very friendly. Service is sometimes slow but the waitress usually does a lot on her own from refills to cash register to scooping ice cream. But in my opinion worth the wait. More time you can visit with friends and family as people in small towns usually do. The restaurant is decorated with old memorabilia. They have a large menu and every item I've tried is delicious. Their house made ranch is the best. There is ice cream several flavors and a wait selection of homemade pies. There is a family area and then down the hall there is a bar area for 21+. read more

A beautifully maintained old diner on Main St, with jukeboxes and local memorabilia, the menu is also diner food, although not particularly old-fashioned. I think the glory days are over. From the collection of dust collectors around the room and down the hall to the young waitress with an uninterested attitude. The food is typical Midwest. At 1:30 it took over a hour to get a no frills sandwich. The place wasn't really busy. The food was ok. We would rather go to a small business than a franchise. However, this place will be a one time stop. I waited a few days to post this review on purpose. A good thing about this place is there is plenty of room in the dinning room. We will never again eat here. We spent two hours being basically ignored by wait staff that would rather wander aimlessly or sit and chat with each other, then we were served mediocre food of a temperature that let us know it had been sitting around the kitchen for some time. We were the only ones in the restaurant, and it's no wonder with food and service like this. People who claim it's amazing have either visited it in some bygone era or have no palate or sense of time. I don't expect it to be around much longer. read more

First I should say that when our family entered, there were very few groups in there, and soon we were the only ones in the restaurant. Despite this, it took what seemed like an eternity before we could get service. Everything took forever. We had to especially ask for the table to be wiped down, had to ask for utensils to eat with...the wait staff was simply neglectful and incompetent. They repeatedly disappeared and ignored us when they walked by. When we finally got our food, surprise? no, it was cold. Even if it had been hot, it wasn't very good, not awful, but not good. All in all, this horrible lunch took more than two hours and left the kids bored and frustrated. This place is completely black-listed for us. read more

This was my first visit. Unfortunately, I won't be going out of my way to come back soon. I wanted to like this place, but our service was terrible. To start, my wife and I ordered The Hot Brown and The Monte Cristo, and the dishes were mediocre at best. Still, we remained optimistic about trying the dessert. With the small-town, Mayberry ambiance, we assumed that milkshakes and sundaes would help us end our visit on a sweet and positive note. Wrong again. After waiting 20 minutes for one milkshake and one brownie sundae, I finally saw our waitress begin to put together our desserts. From the start, we could tell she was sick--sniffing, coughing, and congested. I watched her lick her fingers after topping the hot fudge. Gross, but she hadn't actually touched the food. Yet. Because then, to my dismay and horror, I watched her stick those same spittled fingers into the cherry jar and top my brownie sundae. When she finally brought us our desserts, I was fairly disgusted, and my wife's milkshake was soupy. She apologized for taking so long to make the desserts, but she never explained why, and we were still charged full price. On a positive note, the inside was cute. Unfortunately this place has went downhill. We loved to patronize this mom and pop place and enjoy the decor but we can no longer support it. For the last two times the waitress has been terrible. Not friendly and offensively rude. When asked if Glory Days was a fun place to work she immediately replied "NO". After replying "I could tell" the waitress returned to the kitchen and someone was heard saying "Go slap him around" referring to us. When asked for a steak recommendation she replied "Neither, I don't like anything". Requested a bottle of steak sauce and it was empty. A hair was in the mudville steak. Medium rare ribeye was well done. Silverware given only after requested, No frosty mugs. Watched an elderly man drop his cane and the waitress watched as the man struggled to pick it up. Had to request a manager twice to voice our complaints. The waitress was too busy explaining her actions to management before we could voice our grievances. I hope the owner shakes it up and gets it back on track. Until then we will patronize other mom and pops read more

This restaurant is like a local sports museum and an oldies dinner. The food is fairly good, its clean. The service is a little slow and the prices are a little high. Things that I would recommend is the prime rib, chicken wings, and spaghetti. They also have good sweet tea. read more

We had a PHENOMENAL dinner here last night. Not our first time here but the first time in a long while. Glory Days far exceeded our expectations. We sat on the pub side and both had the Prime Rib. Everything was perfect - from the appetizer, to the main course, the taste, the timing, the outstanding service, and the value. They sure set the bar high, we'll be back soon. We stopped in while on a lengthy detour for Route 46. A diner out front, and a (smallish) sports bar in the back. We sat in a booth in the bar, baseball playoffs on the TVs. The food we had was quite good (I had the Hot Brown, my girlfriend the BLT). their homemade potato chips were awesome. Well if this wasn't some of the best food I've ever had. I live in NYC so I get good food all the time. I was visiting the area for the Covered Bridge Festival and needed some good home cookin in my life. Let me preface that I am a HONEY MUSTARD connoisseur as well as sauces in general, because, why not? Well all theirs are HOMEMADE and this honey mustard I wanted to rub all over my face and not shower for days. Their chicken tenders are not tenders - they are the best of the breast. They're HUGE. Apparently they hand-bread them and it shows. The fried pickles app was awesome. The applesauce - amazing. The lemonade and iced tea - amazing. The HOMEMADE PIES were to die for. The old school 50s diner feel is unlike anything I've seen. Run, don't walk, to this place. I'd run but I gained a couple LBS on my trip. We had been at the Exotic Feline Rescue Center for a 5k fundraiser earlier in the day. We had heard about Glory Days from a friend, and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed! I visited the St Petersburg location at 7:00 pm and ordered the shrimp platter. I was very dissapointed. Shrimp was overcooked and tasted like it had been fried in old oil. Everything (shrimp, French fries, and cole slaw were all too salty! I will not be going back there again. read more

Nifty mom-and-pop Soda Shop kind of atmosphere out front, but the hidden gem is towards the back. A shrine to old Indiana sports memorabilia, the little bar is worth your journey to this tiny hamlet in south central Indiana. I grew up 20 minutes from this place (which didn't exist when I was a kid), so I will always return when I'm visiting family. If there's an IU or ISU basketball game on the TV, I can think of no better place to watch. My only wish would be more local beer on tap (maybe some Upland? at least they had Champagne Velvet in bottles, for which I am deeply grateful). read more

Yes their service can be slow, but get over it....Plan ahead and don't be in a hurry. Family owned and good atmosphere. Love going back in the pub, relaxing and good decor too. I've never had anything from Glory Days that I didn't like. The food is freshly made and doesn't just come out of a box and it's obvious in the taste and presentation. I love the atmosphere of the bar and the dining room is a really neat place to bring people to see local memorabilia. I think glory days has great food for a sit down restuarant but they are a little high. If you order just a sandwhich you get a side of home made potato chips (cooked daily) or some other options they give you. The sandwhiches usually are enough to fill you up and they only cost around 5.99 unlike there dinners which start out at 7.99 (not including drink plus tip) I find that the best way to eat food there is to order over the phone and then go pick it up. No need to leave a tip for a server or order drinks when you'll have drinks at your home. read more
