I was instructed to continue to take calcium for that low lab. I also continued vitamin d since it was trending up but still low. I was worried that I was going to have to take calcium for the rest of my life. But thankfully, my recently pth levels are normal. My vitamin d is finally in the normal range too. It isn't in the optimal normal range but it will get there. I just wanted to share that incase someone freaks out about pth being low after the procedure. So hopefully my labs will stabilize and continue to stay normal. Will update if anything changes. The scar is barely visible too. The incision was made at my natural fold. It healed nicely.

What makes this especially upsetting is that I was not trying to schedule some routine visit. I have Kallmann syndrome, a congenital form of secondary hypogonadism, and I needed an endocrinologist to help me start proper treatment connected to fertility and having children. I do not produce my own testosterone normally, and I was seeking specialist care to discuss hCG treatment to stimulate hormones involved in natural testosterone production and spermatogenesis. For someone in my situation, these delays are deeply serious and personal. Instead of offering real support or urgency, the office gave me almost no options. Only after I pushed did they find one appointment with another specialist 40 miles away, but then they said I needed a new referral. I got that done, waited another two weeks, and still nobody called me back. I called multiple times and was repeatedly told that manager Enid was in meetings and would call me back. She never did. When I finally came to the office in person, staff acted like they knew nothing, said there was nothing in the chart, and even claimed my appointment had been canceled because I did not have a referral -- which was not true. The whole experience felt disorganized, dismissive, and careless. At one point, the manager was loudly reacting to what staff had told me right at the front desk. I also spoke with Joelis, a call center supervisor, and did not feel my concerns were taken seriously at all. For a clinic that handles endocrine and hormone-related conditions, it is unacceptable to treat a patient's fertility concerns this way. When someone is trying to get help to preserve or begin the chance to have children, months of delay matter. Communication matters. Follow-through matters. Compassion matters. After spending hours there in person, I was finally able to get some printed proof of the cancellation and piece together part of what had happened. But this never should have reached that point. This experience caused unnecessary stress, delay, and emotional harm during an already sensitive and time-important medical situation.

I wanted to share my very negative experience for the last 5 years (its scary) with Defy so others…read morecan be aware and advocate for themselves in case they recognize a similar pattern. I'm so disappointed I trusted my health and well-being to this Defy and I regret using them. This is why you should go elsewhere... I originally sought help for fatigue and was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I was started on desiccated thyroid medication, and initially things improved and showed in the first year's blood work. However, over time (5 total years), my medication was increased without a full evaluation of how my labs and symptoms were trending together. This clinic specializes in hormones, how can you not properly read year 2 of a blood panel then continue to mis-diagnose and improperly medicate a patient for 3+ years. My emotional, mental and physical health is destroyed right now. Looking back at my lab results: - My TSH became suppressed (very low) - My Free T3 was at the high end or above range - I began developing symptoms consistent with overstimulation, including poor sleep, heat intolerance, nervous system sensitivity, and eventually loss of my menstrual cycle Despite these clear patterns, there was no adjustment made to account for possible over-replacement or the downstream hormonal effects this was having on my body after my results from year 2 of treatment. I was having horrific mood swings, sleeping extremely poorly, and suicidal thoughts. I now understand that my system was likely being pushed into an overactive state, which impacted my sleep (waking up all night long), nervous system, and reproductive hormones (including very low progesterone and loss of cycle). What has been most frustrating is not just the symptoms, but the lack of holistic evaluation. My labs were viewed in isolation for 5 years total, rather than as a pattern over time, and my symptoms were not fully integrated into my care plan. I'm sharing this so others know: ---- Make sure your provider is looking at trends over time, not just single results---- I wish I had known earlier how important it is to balance thyroid treatment carefully, especially when using T3-containing medications. I've done my research and talked to another medical professional about my labs/blood work and Defy medicated me to Hyperthyroid for 3 total years and not only did they not catch it, they continued to over. Treat me for hypothyroid. My progesterone is .1 but started at 1.4 and with my symptoms being text book hyperthyroidism, how was that missed. I am now working to rebalance my system, and I hope sharing this helps someone else catch these patterns sooner and uses another company. Always double check these 'clinics'. So they schedule me to come back specifically for a biopsy. I drive 90 minutes 1 way AGAIN just for a biopsy. I pay my copay, get put in a room only to get told by the head doctor that he doesn't feel a biopsy is necessary. I said I drove all the way JUST for that purpose. he said he won't charge me for the visit. 5 days later my insurance is charged for a biopsy & i owe another $145. I have now called these people at least 40 times, they keep stating they will fix it & send me more bills. Farid the office manager refuses to return any calls, Tom in billing who doesn't speak English says he's fixing it every week & doesn't do anything. This is clearly insurance fraud to bill for services that aren't given. Who knows how often they do this. Im now filing a complaint with the Florida medical bar for fraud. it doesn't take 3 months to fix a billing code
