During my first visit, Dr. Hemann took the time to really listen, ask questions, and clearly explain my diagnosis and treatment plan. Her calm and caring approach immediately put me at ease. My hygienist, Stacey, was amazing! She made sure I was comfortable with a blanket, a pillow, and even a selection of movies to watch during my treatment. The tall lady with the braids hates her job, the Hispanic lady that left at 12:30 seemed to be the only one with a little care about her job. Asian man doesn't even check vitals just asks weight puts the bp cuff on doesn't even let it finish takes it off only to go stand around twirling his fingers. Dr comes in after four hours says 1 sentence then she's gone never sees her again. Fast forward again to July 2025, I am scheduled for an appt on the 21st. This time I call the office prior to my appt and STILL no credit. My insurance paid them $227 which should now be a credit on my account. I am furious. I cancelled my appt and I will no longer do business with these people. I have also filed a complaint with the BBB and TSBDE! Next, it will be small claims court. It is really stupid that I have to waste time on this! BEWARE! Make them verify services with the insurance. After my previous bad experience, I waited a while before looking for a new dentist so I needed a major deep cleaning. After my teeth were examined, I was told that I needed a deep cleaning that would be a bit uncomfortable, so they would do it in two appointments. I appreciated that I wouldn't have to do it all at once. I had the first half done and scheduled to come back in a couple of weeks for the other part. The hygienist took her time with my teeth and made sure I was comfortable. She did a wonderful job explaining everything that she did. Dr. Morency was wonderful when he came in to say hello and numb my mouth. As a person that hates the dentist, this smooth experience is a blessing. I called ahead to make an appointment and asked if they accepted my dental insurance. They told me they did, even though they are a private practice. I received a basic cleaning, X-rays, and a comprehensive oral evaluation--just like at any other dental office. However, when I finished, I was charged $272.90 with insurance. In my experience, these services have always been 100% covered, even out of network. I was never informed of the cost before being taken into the room and having the cleaning done. When I questioned this, they told me it was my responsibility to ask about pricing and that they were not obligated to inform me beforehand. I took it as a lesson learned for not asking in advance, since I had never had to pay for a basic cleaning before. About a month later, I received another bill for an additional $155.40. I called regarding these new charges, and the person who answered said she would escalate it to the manager. Two months later, I was sent yet another charge--this time $20 for a "processing fee." Their reasoning was that I did not respond to their attempts to contact me, even though I had been the one consistently calling them about the bill. The front office staff refuses to take any responsibility or accountability. They deny everything and shift the blame back onto the patient. At this point, I feel like I'm being scammed. Don't rely on the Google reviews--they appear to delete negative feedback. Most of the photos also seem to be posted by the business owner rather than real patients. While the front of the office looks nice, the interior appears old and run-down. Claims of having "modern technology" are misleading--either posted by friends or by people who haven't experienced truly up-to-date dental offices. I had new insurance and chose Dr. Lauten a few years back based on his 5 star wonderful reviews and that he maintained his solo practice for 35 years, not succumbing to selling out to the Corporate practice of medicine.
