Unfortunately every time I have gone in to get a service I have been turned away. Today I walked in and asked if they had time for a polish change and they said "no, sorry we are with clients", which was understandable but gave no other option for how long I would have to wait, just no. Guess it's under new ownership? Anyway, got the dip nails to try it for my first time. The whole process was hurried and she paid no attention to my cuticles, hands, etc., things you'd assume you'd get when paying $35 for a manicure. Toward the end I was left with no direction and paint all over my fingers. When I asked about it (after I had paid) the woman seemed annoyed and told me that I would have to scrub it off when I got home... odd. Fast forward a week and all of my nails are chipping (I don't do any aggressive types of handwashing for work nor do I handle chemicals) and when I discovered that even though asked for black they gave me navy blue. So sad to see the quality change with new owners, this place used to be my go to. read more

If I could rate this shit hole a 0 I would. Horrible place..staff is not welcoming at all. I walked in with my 2 daughters and right from the beginning we get attitude after a while one of them is like what do you want. I said 2 pedicures no response. Then after a while pick color. WOW. Thanks fellow yelpers. NOT I suggest you read the filtered reviews.. that was more like my experience here. I feel i owe it to the yelp community to get into detail. I made an appointment because the way all of the reviewers made it sound I thought it was something really special. Upon arriving I saw the place was nothing special. I walked in they were not friendly at all - broken English looked at me like a deer in headlights. I picked out my polish - large selection but I came to find most of it was old. Whatever; I could go on and on but after close observation this place is NOT clean. They have many unsanitary practices. After scrubbing my feet with a pumice stone from walgreens she threw it in my tub water, took it out, shook it off and put it back in her cart then proceeded to use it on the next client. GROSS .. most awkward pedi of my life. On to my nails- she cut me and made me bleed- THEN because she gobbed on the OLD polish it took FOREVER to dry. She was pushy the whole time. There seriously is so much more i can complain about but i dont feel like going on and on. Long story short my nails chipped the NEXT day. 3 days later they were pretty much donezo (see pic) i dont know what all the other reviewers are on but this place is bogus. oh and its right next to a karate place and the floor shakes every two seconds from people jumping next door. I waited to review Glossy Nails until my pedi had had a chance to "age." A pet peave of mine is a mani or pedi that doesn't last or quicky chips. Now, FIVE WEEKS after my pedicure there, the only loss of polish is from outgrowth. I'm AMAZED and very pleased! As other reviews have stated, I don't know what "magic product" they're using there, but the staying power of my pedicure is the best I've ever experienced. I'm hesitant to give anyone 5 stars, but how can I find any fault with a 5-week-old pedicure and good service! The shop was extremely clean, bright and roomy. The equipment appears to be well kept and clean as well. It was the owner who did my pedi; and, though she was interrupted each time the phone rang, she handled every call quickly and moved along professionally and efficiently in caring for me. Most operators are Asian, and some don't speak good English; but the owner does speak very good English, and communication didn't seem to be a problem for any of the customers I observed, as it can be in some other salons. Prices are reasonable (I paid $25 for pedi) and well worth the service you receive. I recommend Glossy Nails and would definitely return. read more

I've been going here for about 5 years, and I don't have 1 complaint! As the years go by, it's getting harder and harder to make an appointment last minute because they are so FANTABULOUS! If any of the employees are not with a customer, they are cleaning; always sanitizing the pedicure bowls, instruments, mopping, etc. My manicures last over a week with no chips and minor chips the second week...I don't know what the secret is, but you don't have to spend extra money for that "no chip manicure." I never feel rushed...they always take their time and really jazz up my nails...I have been serviced by T, Ben, and Mark; all which were great! read more

I have been hesitant to write a review because this place is so wonderful I am afraid I won' t be able to get in! They take a long time on my pedicure and my feet feel wonderful. Don't let the location fool you (next to a liquor store). The store is very clean and the instruments sterile. I often run into people I know there. This last time I somehow ruined a toe at night and they fixed it the next day and refused to accept any tip or payment. read more

My friend has been a loyal client here for ages and after looking at how fabulous her nails always look, I decided to give these guys a try. For starters, they are always busy. So, though they take walk-ins, I would highly recommend making an appointment. Also, this is a no-frills kind of nail salon, hence a 4 and not 5 star review. They have a large selection of colors, but I usually bring my own, so I can't really comment on the quality of the nail polish here. A lot of the people don't really speak English, but I have to believe that there isn't much direction needed when you sit down to get your nails done. Cut? Yes/No. Shape? Round/Square. Right? They do a good job, have always been thorough and my pedicures seem to last forever. OK, not forever, but until my nails start growing out, which takes about a month. Manicures here are good, especially the VInylux polish, which you do have to pay a little more for, but so much better for the health of your nails compared to a no-chip and lasts longer than a regular nail polish. read more

I used to come here weekly, now that I'm trying to behave, not nearly as often as I was. I HATE getting my nails done, my ADD is horrific. Mind you, I also don't enjoy my trips to the hair salon...I'm one of those. I'd let ANYONE give me a massage, and like it, but nothing else. However, if I'm gonna play the part, this place is great. Mark and Judy are a married couple who own it, and I love them. The place is clean, laid back, and everyone is good. I'd never "request" anyone, but I get a basic mani/pedi. Every staff member knows of my strange aversion to grooming in public/sitting still and they dismiss my "don't worry about being perfect's" and constant fidgeting. I'm SURE they're like what's with this schizo?! But that's one of the joys of a nail salon. They're ALL talking shit about you. read more

I have been to this place several times. Had an appointment with Mark today and he took a customer who chipped her pedicure. I was told by Mark just to wait a moment while he helped this other customer. I waited 20 minutes, he was not finished helping the other customer and I had to walk out due to another commitment. I used to go here for my nails. Usually the nails have popped off after 2-3 weeks (after having a full set). They are somewhat friendly but I feel as though they could be nicer. The final straw was when I went there on a Friday afternoon (2 pm) they had ONE client. I asked for a full set and they literally turned me away and said they have no openings until later the evening. I felt like they just didn't want to work on my nails for some reason and turned me away. MAYBE they were expecting a bridal party or something like that and thats why they couldn't take me but I just felt it was weird. Oh, and if you don't mind hearing the loud banging and screaming from the karate place next door that they share a wall with, this is the place for you! Won't be going there anymore. read more

This is not a fancy nail salon, but Judy & Mark (the owners) run a clean and professional salon. They have a large selection of colors and I recommend DND if you're looking for Gel No-Chip - my manicures last at least 3 weeks! And, they have matching polish for the toes. I feel that I always get a good manicure and pedicure - I always feel great when I leave. Haven't had any waxing, but they do have a private room for that service. I recommend! read more

Not worthy, they dint clean and remove the nailpaint properly before applying the new one and also they were in hurry and dint even put proper creams and oils for massage. I got only 40 secondd massage for hands and 1 min scrub for legs. Very poor service. read more

I'm almost afraid to let out the secret. this place ROCKS. they sanitize their instruments. their manicures last at least a week if you are careful, and pedicures DO NOT CHIP! Seriously, they last a month or until your toenails grow out! I had a manicure on thursday (in a sexy dark color) went to L.A. for a wedding, handling luggage, swimming, etc. etc. and here it is, five days later with very slight chips on my index finger and one thumb. I don't get my nails done professionally very often. I have been to this nail salon twice in one year. First time for a beach vacation pedi - It lasted for ages! The color grew out before it chipped - on the beach barefoot all day no less! I don't know what they do - its not the new "fancy thing" that I have seen advertised, but just good-old fashioned attention to detail. The most recent visit I got a mani-pedi before the Holidays for a big night out. Pedi is on its way out now mid-January - still no chips. The mani lasted all the way thru Christmas before I had to remove it. 10 days! Admittedly it was a neutral mauvy-grey color, but I was hostess to a full house doing dishes every meal and sometimes forgot to put on the rubber gloves. I don't see any point in experimenting with any other nearby salon. Kudos and gold starts to Glossy Nails! read more
