My makeup however, was a one out of five stars and it is safe to say I would never circle back for another run. I asked prior to scheduling if the artist had experience applying makeup to all skin tones and was assured of same. The outcome was honestly the worst. So much so that I left the salon and was driven by the Mr. to a local store to buy makeup wipes. He went in to buy the makeup removal wipes to save me the embarrassment. He also blurted out when he first saw me, "OMG, it looks hideous. What happened!?". And he also said "I told you so". After the makeup was applied, I informed the MUA that it was unflattering IMO and she assured me the lighting made it difficult for me to see properly. She even tried to lighten it a little when I explained that it was not my shade. It reminded me of the makeup application of a 50 something year old deceased female more than 15 years ago when embalming fluid darkened the skin making the makeup and face of the loved one largely unrecognizable. I was seriously pre-1990 casket ready. Hahaha. I paid the full amount ($45) plus gratuity because the MUA did her best and she was very nice. Going forward, I would not schedule service without pictures of their work. That said, I would return for a massage or nail service. The friendliness of the staff members was everything I could ask for.

In a move toward general self-improvement, I decided to up my eyebrow game. The wax-ists at the nail places tend to favor a thinner brow shape than I generally prefer for myself. I have naturally thick brows and what I'm really looking for is a cleaned-up version of my natural shape with the bushiness under control. It was thanks to Yelp that I found Cora. I liked the idea of going to an actual aesthetician since the goal was doing something a little nice for myself every 4-6 weeks. The salon space is small, really in the lower level of a building under a coffee shop. If it weren't for the sign out front I might have missed it. It's not that far from where I live so I'm not making my little ritual into a difficult errand. Cora is really nice and works with my schedule. I do a brow and lip wax and the price is really reasonable. I have gotten so many compliments on my eyebrows, including from people who either haven't seen me in years or don't normally notice eyebrows. Cora doesn't make them too thin or lop off the tail end on the left side like some of the other places were doing. I get to keep my "natural" look but look polished at the same time. I'm really glad I found this place.

Very good at distracting you from the waxing process and the space is calming and nicely decorated. I had never had hard wax used before, but I like it and she works great with it! She is very on point when it comes to appointments (schedule through an app that reminds you via text/email/etc.) which is handy when you're doing it several weeks out in advance. The location (since right in downtown MKE) gets a little bit difficult when it comes to parking sometimes, but is totally manageable. Will be a return client for quite a while!

Greeted warmly and taken promptly on time. They have a dedicated, private room for pedicure services. Low lighting, cozy, quiet. Very relaxing! The chairs are absolutely beautiful, comfortable and have a heated option. Honestly, it was the most relaxing pedicures we have ever experienced. The name literally says it "milk and honey", yes, real honey! Followed with a paraffin wax, leg mask and warm towels. Excellent massage to finish off the relaxing service. Hannah and Dennis did our pedicures and were both excellent! On to the fills. Lilly did my nails and was so sweet, very precise and perfect! Love my nails! She has a new regular customer for sure. Tan is the proud owner and did a stunning job on my daughter's nails. He was so humble and appreciative at checkout. We booked our next appointments because we definitely found our new nail "home". Prices are very reasonable for the services offered and provided. You get a little discount for paying cash as well. This place will do really well because of how comfortable, relaxed, non-rushed, timely and proficient they are.

We were planning to get manicures, but with that attitude, we promptly left and took our business elsewhere. The next time I went in was to tan in the beds. Again, it was just "meh". The prices were outrageously expensive for any sort of "package" (aren't those supposed to be a better deal than the single use!?). The beds seemed outdated. They looked outdated, there were little fans in the rooms to cool you, instead of built-in fans in the beds. There were CD players? With radios in them? Very outdated. No music playing, so while tanning it was awkwardly quiet. Not to mention they don't offer any type of discount or package for students. And no I'm not talking high school students, I'm talking college students who pay thousands of dollars for an education who do not have $100 + to buy a monthly tanning package. Poor service, outdated equipment, &overpriced for what you get. A very "meh" experience.
