    Ellen Dubin is phenomenal…read more We chose her based on a referral from friends who've had her do their various bar/bat mitzvahs and weddings. There were several things that made our wedding planning rather challenging - an April wedding in DC with unpredictable weather, a wedding taking place at a private home requiring everything to be imported to that site, and a bride, a groom, and parents that were in three different locations in two different time zones. Ellen was very flexible and adaptable and cleared her schedule to make the most of the limited time we had with her when all three of us were in town. I think one of the best and most useful things about using Personally Yours was the access that Ellen had to various vendors - three things - the tent, the decor, and the food - were the most important part of this wedding and all three were phenomenal. Our wedding was on somewhat short notice - about 8 months to plan - and she was able to acquire Joel from Occasions and Jeffrey from Fox Ventures and Davis from Sugar Plum Tents. All three were exceptional and made multiple trips to our wedding site to plan and coordinate the event. All three had rave reviews about Ellen and it was clear that the people and vendors she surrounded herself with were all people very familiar with each other and worked well with each other. Ellen was able to provide experience, wisdom, and advice about the way we were trying to shape our wedding. She listened carefully and made significant efforts to understand what we wanted for our wedding. There were certain things she was adamant about that we had never really considered including the flow of the guests, the rhythm and scheduling of the band in conjunction with speeches and meals being served. How to introduce a WOW factor for guests when they stepped into our tent. And she paid close consideration to the theme and atmosphere we wanted to have. We wanted to go for a vintage chic / garden wedding that was intermingled with the natural beauty of the house where we were getting married. She advised us on the position of the tent, the dance floor, ways to accent the natural warmth of the home, and how to make sure everyone was fed and watered without any glitches. Ellen is experienced and has done what I'm sure are hundreds of weddings. Before hiring her we had concerns that since she does bar and bat mitzvahs too, that the wedding wouldn't have the perfect wedding feel- but that was not an issue whatsoever! Our wedding was a dream come true. It was perfect - like a work of art in motion. If wedding planners could be named artists she's a Van Gogh or da Vinci. She works so hard and is brilliant at it too! Ellen listens, executes, is efficient, and gets the job done. She is very much about business and there are some times when she might say some things are less feasible than others. It's not difficult to believe her because for most things she'll bend over backward to execute and have her staff work accomplish. But she is honest and will let you know when she disagrees with a suggestion or would like to tweak something and see if you'd like it better that way. The second place where her brilliance comes in is the day of the wedding and ensuring everything goes smoothly. The order of the ceremony, the flow of guests, collecting gifts, re-bustling my dress as she predicted the bustle would come undone, directing bridesmaids/groomsmen, getting the crowd onto the dance floor, and making sure shuttles are coming and going etc. Things were flawless! First of all, Ellen was completely dedicated to making sure that the wedding reflected us: our choices, our vibe, our personality. While she has opinions about how to make sure you get the best vendors and the best quality service, she made sure that the event was about us: not about her, not about our parents, but about us. But boy, did she assemble a dream team! Her extensive experience in this industry means that she knows who the best people are, and everyone she chose, from the caterer to the florist to the photographer, were absolutely excellent. I really appreciated how she made a point of figuring out what our vibe was and what we were looking for, and then matched us with a top-quality vendor who could deliver that vibe. We also can't help but mention how organized, thorough, and patient Ellen and her team are. They thought of everything, every little wrinkle and nuance, and they navigated those nuances through a decidedly larger-than-normal planning committee of six people! Not only will Personally Yours deliver an absolutely amazing, personalized event, they'll do it in a way that can make you, your guests, and even your in-laws proud and happy. We can't recommend them strongly enough-: if you want a fantastic event, go with Ellen and her team.

Roxanne…read moreinherited a complete mess of mistakes made by the wedding planner I had to fire just two months before my wedding and she turned everything around. When I called to inquire about her services, she made the time to meet me that day and we had a great conversation - and I wished I had hired her from the very beginning!!! Roxanne went ABOVE and BEYOND, we literally met for 8 hours at a time on many occasions to make sure we had all the details right, made wise vendor selections and she thought of all the things I didn't. She was literally working day and night to make my wedding a success. Roxanne uses software that is user friendly and efficient, and her excel skills are so impressive. She is organized, detail oriented, timely, responsible, reliable, thoughtful, and honestly the list just goes on..and on...and on!!! On top of all this, she is such a kind person, you can feel her warm spirit upon the first time you meet her. She is always calm no matter what kind of stressful thing comes her way and for that I am SO grateful. Just one week before the wedding, the hotel where we had booked our bridal suite called to tell me that they had accidentally triple booked and we no longer had the suite. I freaked out and Roxanne dropped everything she was doing that day to come and talk with the GM of the hotel and the way she negotiated a new deal resulted in an even better situation than we originally had! She handled challenges with vendors, family, etc with such grace and tact. Though she is so sweet, she was also firm and fair with negotiations and I always felt like she was advocating for me as the bride rather than trying to make extra bucks for preferred vendors - while also respecting the crafts and expertise of the vendors. Her many years of experience showed so many times when she was able to come up with creative solutions to seemingly insurmountable problems caused by my previous planner. She also came up with innovative ways to stay within budget as much as possible. I saved thousands of dollars working with Roxanne! My wedding of 400+ guests would have been a complete mess if it weren't for her. Roxanne made me feel so comfortable in the weeks leading up to the wedding, and the day of was no different. She was there early in the morning, ensured we had breakfast and lunch for the bridal party, and I even had another staff member, Amy, with me all day to address anything I needed. Roxanne's staff was communicating with one another all day and with vendors ensuring everything was going according to the detailed timelines she created. She had staff at the hotel, the church and the reception venue at all times to ensure everything was happening as it should and to assist vendors as needed. When we were running behind schedule, she and her team were able to switch things around to accommodate our needs and keep us on track. Most importantly, Roxanne and her team stayed at our reception venue until the very end (5AM!!) to ensure that all vendors met the rules of our very strict venue so we would not be fined. Because of Roxanne and her team, not even 1 flower petal was left behind! No doubt, the Tres Belle team are the ultimate wedding planning professionals. This review doesn't even begin to capture everything Roxanne and her team did for my wedding. My family, husband and I are eternally grateful!!!! As a bride, it is disappointing that they fell short to realize my vision and there was no accountability. Hair/make-up was also delayed because the stylist felt ill and the air-brush machine stopped working. Over the top food and lodging requests. Ultimately not good day of reliability. My negatives are the confusing price structure, the difficulty connecting my audiovisual devices and lack of continuity between the hotel and the event staff. I initially thought I was spending $3-$4000 but ended up spending over $6k. They would benefit from a brochure or printed materials explaining the pricing and the audiovisual connections so clients would have a clearer understanding of what they were signing up for. The hotel staff didn't know anything about the block of rooms I reserved and wouldn't give me the agreed price when I wanted a room on the spot. Ultimately my guests were happy but some did not get appetizers or any food at all because it is quickly removed. I would only recommend this venue if you have a lot of flexibility with your budget.

She's honest, creative, very organized and realistic - which are all the things I needed in a planner. Most of all, she calmed any anxieties I had in regards to planning and hosting a party. The day of the Mitzvah, she worked with all the vendors tirelessly to make sure the room was perfect and everything was ready to go. The room looked amazing. Once we arrived, she made sure we were happy and content and didn't worry about a thing. She took care of everything so we could just focus on having fun all night. My whole family absolutely loves Sandra. She is a great planner and a great person. I would recommend her services to anybody that is looking for a planner. You would be crazy to use anybody else.
