I had a poor experience with Butte GMC. The truck I purchased was not properly inspected or prepared for sale. At the time of the test drive and again at pickup, the vehicle was still dirty inside, had not been properly vacuumed, had visible spots that were never wiped down, and still had adhesive residue left from removed stickers. Additional issues became apparent immediately after purchase: * The horn did not work * The windshield wipers were deteriorated and fell apart * The battery was dead before the test drive * The tire jack was not properly installed * Wheel chocks were missing * Spare tire tools were loose in the back and missing pieces Within 300-400 miles (8 days) of purchase, the check engine light came on. The issue was later diagnosed as an injector-related repair totaling $1,836. Additional brake-related codes were also identified that had not been disclosed. After the sale, I attempted multiple times to work directly with the dealership by contacting the sales representative, sales manager, fixed operations director, and general manager. I did not receive any meaningful follow-up or resolution. I also opened a case with General Motors Customer Assistance. After months of calls, repeated document submissions, and follow-ups, I received a reimbursement adjustment check for $91 toward the $1,836 repair. I bought a Chevy truck with 35000. Miles. I bought the extended warranty as well. The truck was burning two quarts of oil before service was due so they say bring your truck in every thousand miles to monitor. I did twice it was fine. On the last time the truck said low oil. I documented that notice. Oil was two quarts low not showing on dip stick. I live 80 miles from Buute so I put two quarts of oil in it to get to Butte. They said that I voided the test by putting oil in so I need to travel 160 miles round trip every thousand miles so they can check the dip stick. They told me 90 percent of the time fixing the valve covers takes care of the problem. Proof of burden is on me. I guess I am lying and my pictures do not matter. Extended warranty does not matter. There is a reason this dealership gets a two star rating. Do NOT buy from these folks you will be sorry. I have bought six Chevy rigs. They lost me on this one. read more

AVOID THIS DEALER! They sold my mother a 2015 ram truck, 3 weeks after purchasing it the transmission went OUT. When the mechanic looked at it they identified that the engine was a 2021 and not the original. The proper engine for that truck should be between 2015 and 2017. The extended warranty would not cover the repairs. We have tried to reach out to the dealer SEVERAL times from when the issue first started til now and they will not return phone calls. When we call we get told TONY MICHLIG or ROBBY DREWS would call us back. They avoid us. They royally screwed over my mother for thousands of dollars and will not even give her a call.......... read more

We bought a GMC Sierra from these folks last week, specifically from Kody, our salesman. What a great guy, very professional and a good listener. We were looking at a specific vehicle and price. Kody listened, offered us several options, including their extended warranty. Once we arrived at a deal, he was quick and efficient getting us through the process, One other person I need to mention is Ginger in finance, what a professional, but yet warm and friendly. We were not financing the vehicle through the dealership, so she graciously held our check for a week to give us time to get our money in the account from our credit union, I do not often buy cars and while this may be a common practice we really appreciated it and how Ginger handled it. Both Kody and Ginger made our buying experience a pleasant process. We would definitely buy from this dealership again. The dealership is currently under a remodel, so things were a bit wonky, but still worth the visit. read more

I made made an appt for a brake job. They said sure, bring it in next Wednesday morning. I dropped it off on agreed date and time (8 a.m.) I get a call from them at 2:30 that afternoon stating they didn't have the parts to do the brake job! What?! They didn't know parts werent available before they scheduled me?! Then, to add insult to injury, I was charged $129 because they "put it on the rack". So, I left with the truck in the same condition as when I brought it in, and $129 poorer. What a joke! Been a loyal customer there for years for both purchases and service. never again! I hope that $129 was worth a lost customer. read more

My ignition locked up on my truck. My dealer told me it was covered under warranty and to have it towed to Butte GM, since I was in Butte. This was on a Wednesday. Thursday, I called to find out what the plan was. I was told that the ignition was ordered and would be in Friday evening. I informed the service person that my truck was due at a local body shop as soon as they were through with it. They agreed. Friday, the following week, I call the body shop to see if my truck is done, the body shop informs me that they haven't received the truck yet. I call Butte GM and the service person is already gone for the day and no one else can tell me about my vehicle. Monday, I drive to Butte GM and talk to the service person. My truck is in the same place it was when dropped off, blocking the main entrance to the service dept. They assure me that it will be done that day. I asked if they sent the ignition to the local locksmith (my employer) and was told no, a tech was working on it. I left to run errands. I inform the body shop what is going on. Around lunch time, I call to find out how my truck is going and am told that it still hasn't arrived at the body shop. Called Butte GM again. I was told that they ended up sending my ignition to the locksmith and were waiting for it to come back. I call my work. The ignition was dropped off before I even arrived at the dealership and was done 30 minutes later. They were waiting on the dealer to pick it up. My guys said that they would have ran it back down there, if they had known it was mine. Butte GM picks it up at 430pm. No one works on it until the next day (it is still blocking their entrance). Next morning, I get a call from Butte GM, "Did you pick up your truck?" I tell them "NO!" They say "ok and are looking for it." I call the body shop and no one has heard from the dealership to pick it up and it therefore, was not there. Call the dealership again. They again ask if I am sure I didn't pick up my truck. I tell them no and the body shop doesn't have it either. "OK." I go to work, around lunch the body shop says that the dealership just dropped off my truck. Next day, I get a call from the service person stating that my warranty didn't cover the ignition, even though there was a recall on it. $460, plus my rental, also not covered. There was no apology for taking almost two weeks for an in and out job, nor was there any apology for losing my truck. I never found out where it went. It's kind of funny because it WAS literally in front of the service desks the whole time until it mysteriously disappeared. I will never recommend this place to anyone! Take your vehicle to Bozeman, Helena, or Missoula. It might cost a little to go there, but it will be far cheaper and less aggravating than Butte GM. read more

Purchased a used car from these guys during one of their promotions. Put an additional 5000 miles on it, had the oil changed and the timing chain broke destroying the valves and head. In addition, this vehicle was listed in their sales flyer at a lower cost than we were charged. We did not realize this until after we had signed the paperwork thus we feel the sales people took advantage of us. I got one call from the service manager regarding the engine and was told GM would offer 10 percent of the cost of a new engine and that was it. I also contacted them regarding the price differential and was referred to the sales manager, but when I ask for a name, no one got back to me at all. I had to end up spending almost $7000 to get a new engine and have it installed and of course, we are paying for the difference in price as well since the dealer has just blown us off. I would absolutely not recommend these people for anything. read more

They did a good job at detailing the vehicle but wouldn't trust them to fix anything. Had my car in, was told things were OK (after paying almost $600 in a repair unrelated to the problem), few days later same problem and back into the shop. After all the time and considerable trouble it caused me they brought the car back in and didn't do what was necessary to make it right. Asking them to bring the car back to me so I don't have to deal with them any more. Would not take my car there again. My girlfriend had to deal with similar circumstances where they needed her car back three times to get the repair right. Should have listened to her. Sketchy repair shop. read more

My parents were travelling from Canada to their home in Yuma for their winter on Oct 27.My dad is 80 and my mom is 76 with Parkinson's. They stopped at Butte GM and my dad asked them to check the engine coolant pressure, they checked for leaks instead and said he needed a new water pump and truck would be ready Oct 30. Oct 30, they were told they need new head gaskets and truck would be ready on Nov 1. Oct 31 they said dad needed a new engine. My dad was a truck driver for over 40 years and 27 of those years had his own trucks and replaced many engines and engine parts. Dad told mechanic to replace the heads and head gaskets, no new engine was needed. After several failed attempts at finding heads near Butte, they ordered new parts from GM. In the meantime, dad had spoken to a few locals and they suggested he take the heads to a machine shop and re-build them. Dad went to the dealership on Nov 2 and told them this is what he wanted to do, they said they couldn't cancel the order of the heads. We are at their mercy as they have our truck in pieces. The heads weren't to arrive until the week of Nov 6, so instead of paying $100 a night at a hotel, they rented a car and went to stay with friends in Big Arm 200 miles away. They stay was to be 5 days, it turned into 2 weeks. Butte GM needed to send new heads to machine shop to fit the old valves in, and days turned into weeks. Dad would call daily to see what was happening with progress, little was happening. Finally on Friday Nov 17 dad was told that the truck could be ready that day, Mom and dad head back to Butte. Truck was taken for a test drive and they found a pinhole leak on the rail at the top of the engine. Sat morning, Butte couldn't find anyone to go pick up the part needed, my dad drove 85 miles to get the part so they could get it fixed and get on the road, Truck finally fixed and they head out Sunday Nov 18, 22 days later!! Monday Nov 19, they break down outside of Wickenburg AZ, get towed to Wickenburg for $300+. They got a hole in the heater hose, Butte covered the cost of the repair. Nov 21, we got the truck back and they got back on the road, I've condensed this story as it is long and painful, my parents were treated poorly by staff at the dealership, they left the motor open for the 20+ days for dust and grime to get on, they left their windows of the truck open for dust, exhaust smells and what not to get in the truck, and the front end was not installed properly. The plastic in wheel wells was lose and rubbed against the tire. (A mechanic for 20 years would know better) The price they charged us could of got us 2 new engines in Canada, but they stand by that they told my dad he needed a new engine and that he probably wouldn't get 200 miles out of Butte and the engine would fail. My dad has had the old heads checked out, they were re-buildable. Please, please be cautious taking your vehicle to this dealership for repairs!! read more

Been taking my car there for 2 years to have oil changes. Tried to schedule an appointment for a routine oil change, I asked for an appointment around 4, as this is when I get off of work, and was told that they don't schedule after 3:30. I asked if this was new as I have always scheduled at 4 and was told that, no, they have never done anything after 3:30 as the staff leaves at 4:30. The last oil change I had I didn't get done there until after 5. Guess I will have to take my business elsewhere. Don't appreciate the insinuation that I am a liar. read more

Took my GMC Sierra HD in for a service that was offered via a GM coupon that I received in the mail. The coupon was for an oil change, tire rotation, and vehicle inspection. When I picked up the truck I discovered that the tire rotation was not done. (Makes me wonder what else was NOT DONE) The service advisor questioned the technician who did the work and he admitted that he did not rotate the tires. The service advisor did not offer to fix the problem or even try to make things right. Her response was just "sorry, these things happen". I would have been more than happy to bring the vehicle back for the rotation but that was never offered. Getting nowhere with the service department I took my complaint to their finance manager and he refunded the cost of the service. But now I will never trust them again. They were more than willing to send me away angry without once offering to make things right and allowing me to pay for service that I did not get. Additionally, the area in the service area is filthy and I got my truck back with dirty footprints from the tech. Their parking lot is full of huge potholes and you can easily tell that this dealership does not care about keeping up with GM standards. Do NOT get your vehicle service here. The oil change and tire rotation were done quickly. The dealership failed to honor the two year, 24,000 mile maintenance agreement posted on the vehicles window sticker when I purchased it. I will not be returning or recommending the dealership. read more
