I received a letter from the New York State stating that I did not claim my income from unemployment in 2020. In that year, the federal government had decided to exclude up $10,200 in unemployment compensation in order to ease some of the financial burden. But New York state had not made decision on whether they will also apply this exclusion. I filed my taxes in March 2020 and ultimately, the state decided that they were not going to exclude income from unemployment. They announce this prior to May 2020 and there were news articles stating this as early as April 2020. Raza Association made the decision to exclude my unemployment income from my state taxes. When I reached out to them about this, I asked them if they could pay the interest that I was being charged because it wasn't fair. They told me that they've been getting a lot of calls about this and I wasn't the only one.They blamed the state for this but eventually told me that they would pay the interest and would send a confirmation email that day. I never received the email and they continually dogged my calls. Not only did they file my taxes incorrectly, they took no accountability and then lied and avoided me. Also, I understand that 2020 was a weird time and there was a lot going on but at some point, they realized that they didn't include that income and instead of informing their clients and providing a tax amendment, they stayed quiet. I would never come back here.

They were suppose to request wage transcripts from the IRS well a week before closing they asked us to pull the IRS wage transcript because they dropped the ball and wouldn't have them in time for closing. Dimitrys ability to act like a decent human being is non existent when you start questioning his ability to keep his word and get things done. Others on his team instructed us to stop dealing with him as he has no idea what he is doing. Advice given to us a little to late in the game.
