I trusted the recommendation, so I didn't mind the $59 service charge to come out, as they said it could be applied towards the work. Luis showed up and was very nice and professional. Unfortunately, he was subject to the companies price list. To install a switch, the price was $86 each, and with 7 switches, it came to $602. Keep in mind, this DOES NOT include the price of the dimmer switch, as I already have them. If I needed a switch, the price would be more like $200 each. And this is just changing the switch. No rewiring, installing a switch where there wasn't one, etc. This seemed unreasonably high. So I bit the bullet on the $59 fee. I called another electrician from yelp. They said 2 techs could come out, the charge $195/hour and they could probably get all 7 switches done in an hour. This rate was in line with our previous technician. Needless to say, I didn't pick Mister Sparky. I'm not commenting on their work. My hunch is that it would be fine. Just be weary of the prices.
