It's much more a deli than a grocery store- not a dig, just the truth. I arrived around 1pm and they had a steady stream of people ordering smoothies and deli items. They have a fun mix of locally made crafts, some organic food items and some weird art. Truly an original mix! But the most important things - the place was clean. The bathroom was clean. The employees were clean and exceptionally friendly and attentive. And most importantly - the food was soooo good!! I had the veggie wrap grilled (because I'm in an endless search for good vegetarian food to eat on the go) and omg was it good. The perfect mix of crispy and fresh veggies, just enough sauce without being overpowering. The wrap itself was delicious, flavorful and super fresh tasting. If you're in the area and like healthy, clean food - this is your spot.

It does take a little longer than a fast food restaurant, but the quality is worth it! It's inside a little market, and there is no seating. Two small tables are outside the front of the store that seat 2 people. Lots of parking behind the store in a large, shared parking lot. We'll definitely stop here again!

I haven't had health insurance since I was in high school, so when I am so sick with the flu that I am inadvertently crop dusting my section and throwing up behind the bar, I count on these little Mom and Pop places. It's not as effective as riding the trolley into Tijuana, but it's what I got and it works. I first went to Good Life a few years ago when I had a severe throat infection. The man that works there is extremely knowledgeable. He practically diagnosed me within minutes of conversation and gave me several options or routes I could take, based on how involved I wanted to be with treatment and how much I wanted to spend. I went there today and the experience was enlightening. It was the same guy, and he was very certain about what could be wrong with me. He gave me some options and commended me on my initial battle plan to attack my bout with bubble guts (I think I ate some undercooked sausage). He seems very sincere about everyone's health, all you gotta do is walk in. On a quick note, it is from my understanding that if someone is not a MD, they cannot "diagnose" "treat" or "prescribe" anything, which is why you will get "suggestions" So if this doesn't sound good to you, I suggest spending your day (and money) being climbed on by a family of 8 in the waiting room at the walk-clinic.

Since it was my first time, I didn't become a member, just wandered about to see what they carry. In support of sustainability and buying just what you need, they have bulk grains, nuts, seeds, and spices. Produce, milk, eggs, cheese, cereals, healthier versions of packaged mac&cheese, rice and noodle dishes, and other pantry items. They don't sell meat Since they are a vegetarian and vegan market. Specifically, I was looking for puffed quinoa, but they did not carry it. No one seems to! On this day, the adjacent parking lot was in use by their Wednesday Farmer's Market. It was easy to find parking on the street.

I lived walking distance from People's Co-op circa 2004 where I lived right across from the now defunct all vegan coffeeshop aka Red and Black. In 2004-2005 I was a working member cleaning the bulk bins as my seva aka service. This is where I first started teaching yoga at the community room upstairs at People's Co-op. Dusty started the program that sadly is no longer currently active. They had some great classes there and have fond memories of a Iyenger influenced yoga teacher that taught classes I liked. This was when I was teaching classical hatha yoga and had not yet shifted my yoga teaching to the Ashtanga Vinyasa tradition. Fast forward to the moment of Jun 20223. It's the return and went to People's Co-op. It still is an amazing place. They have a farmer's market here every Wed. Their bulk selection is amazing (see my photos) and so is there produce. Friendly and helpful staff. Afterwards go to Belmont for heaps of plant based, vegetable forward, tasty, amazing vegan restaurants and food trucks that are amazing. Vegan bars, vegan food trucks, innovative vegan restaurants like Fermenter, and more that will satisfy all folks who follow whatever diet from vegan to paleo to gluten-free to omnivore.
