Penn Herb Company - Mixed Feelings, Honest Take…read more I was really looking forward to checking out Penn Herb Company, especially thinking it might offer more variety than what I've seen at Reading Terminal. And to be fair, they did have some cool options, a few new brands, and unique finds I hadn't come across before. Definitely a good spot if you're into wellness and herbal products it helped to take some time and read up on a few things. When we first walked in, the vibe seemed friendly and calm. My family and I (just the three of us) were really just browsing, not touching everything, and stayed together. But the energy shifted a bit. Only one older staff member acknowledged us--but she also seemed to be following us. We'd change aisles, and she'd change aisles too. At one point I asked, "Are you following us? If so, can you help me find the chlorophyll?" She did show us, but the experience rubbed me the wrong way. The price wasn't clearly marked as member-only, which I only realized later. Then, after she left, another staff member appeared in the same area--which made me feel profiled. Not a great feeling. At checkout, I gave my number to sign up for the membership, thinking I'd get the discount but I never received it, and no one explained why. Left feeling confused and a bit disappointed. This was just my personal experience, and maybe others have had better luck. But as someone who values both wellness and respectful service, this visit left me feeling a little let down.

Great selection and very helpful, knowledgeable staff! We have relocated to AZ but they cab ship…read morethem to you.

My review for MOM's will be aimed towards the Pinball machines they offer versus the market…read moreportion, which is smaller than you'd expect. MOM's has plenty of parking and shares the building with a Family Dollar. To find the pinball machines, which have their own area, head towards to the checkouts on the left. During my visit, they had over a dozen pinball machines from various eras, and all were in excellent playing condition. Machines were only 50 cents per play with a change machine provided. I found the two most interesting machines to be Riverboat Gambler and Taxi, which I am not sure I've seen before. There were also several arcade cabinets. If you like playing reasonably priced pinball machines in excellent condition, MOM's is absolutely worth the stop.

A bit disappointed on my second trip here…read more Three of the pinball machines took our money and there was no metal ball to play in the machine! The games were Houdini, Riverboat Gambler, and I forget the third one. One of the games the ball got struck and I had to wiggle the ball to get it free however the machine registered it as a tilt and went dark and shut down as a result. I guess in any arcade you will have some broken machines, but they literally ask the participant playing the game to scan a QR code on their phone to alert them of any broken machines. For those of you that are not in the know, you are never supposed to scan random QR codes as people can hack into your phones. Yes, you probably won't be hacked as the QR code is inside the pinball glass but WTF. On another sour note, I was totally out of coffee at my home and was going to grind some coffee beans as all their coffees need to be grind due to them not offering any already ground coffee. Welp, after seeing the unkempt machine with guck on it I chose to leave empty handed. Now for the good, I did not notice the first time I was here, but they even have already poured water for you in a plastic cup that you can help yourself too. This is in addition to free coffee and tea you can have while here. I haven't given up on this place just a bit disappointed on my second trip.

Ewing had ordered it a few days ago but I wasn't sure what was happening. Spoke with Ken, (Langhorne store) who called around for me, couldn't find it but then talked to the Ewing store who finally got it in, Ewing did follow up to call me and say they would hold a bottle for me. I had given a bad review last year but I love the service I got today. !!

I wish I could give more stars, because the selection is good. But the customer service and…read moreexperience at this location is so poor, I gave up trying to give this local store my business. I used to shop there every two weeks for the past three years, but never again. Waiting anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes while the staff caters to other customers is the standard-poor-service they provide. Customers at this location are very rude and aggressive and the staff does absolutely nothing about it. I've been cut off mid-sentence by customers who demand attention and refuse to wait their own turn. Instead of instilling order and civility, the staff panders to such behavior - seemingly too scared or disinterested to do anything about it. Yet, they have no problems telling me and other customers behind to wait!! Since when do rude customers get better service?? At Big Bear in Ewing they do!! Last time, a cashier interrupted helping me, so she could help a very rude customer who came in AFTER me!! Right smack in the middle of my transaction, the customer walked in and shouted - over my shoulder - asking for a product. Instead of finishing up with me or asking him to wait, she simply dropped what she was doing with me and helped him. I waited 14 minutes while she helped him and she offered no apology whatsoever. This happened in many other scenarios over and over. It is really stunning behavior to experience, as a customer. If the phone rings while you're being helped, you must wait while the customers on the phone get service first. All of this is very ironic considering you're assaulted with offers to "help" the minute you walk in the door. (Seriously, let the door shut behind me before you ask if I need help.) This location was supposed to move to another location last year, but never did. They shut their juice bar down way too early which is a shame because the shakes were pretty good. There is obviously some serious mismanagement at play, which is a shame because health food options are extremely limited in this area. I've also been to the other locations and while the help is extremely slow, at least they treat all the customers the same. They make all customers wait until they have finished talking amongst themselves. Ha! And beware - only certain customers are allowed to interrupt. The rest of us must wait! Up to now, I was willing to overlook the service problems to help support local business. Ewing needs it. They do have a good product selection, the prices aren't outrageous, and the juice bar (and food) was pretty good. I used to spend nearly a thousand dollars at Big Bear each year. But I've had it. No more. I don't like fighting to keep the staff's attention. It really is outrageous. I wonder how many other former customers feel the same way.

I've been here a few times, so it deserves some recognition from me!…read more The first time I tried finding this place, it was hidden in plain site. I walked past it several times before smacking myself in the head. It's hard and easy to miss at the same time. There's no big signage, but outside the store resembles a garden shop. Various plants and flowers making it look like an oasis. So look for that if you're paying a visit! The store is small and isn't anything fancy by any means, but I love it. A good spot to find organic and natural foods while supporting local business at the same time. I did notice price differences on certain items compared to other stores that make them a little cheaper. They have a nice selection of natural beauty products, as well as supplements. This is the cheapest place I find Thayer's Witch Hazel. This is also one of the very few places that keeps their probiotics refrigerated (which is super important). I always see the same younger guy working every time I stop in, and he's extremely kind in a chill way. I wish there were more places like this around. I hope it always flourishes in business. They deserve it. If you're in the area and like this sort of thing, check it out. Even if you're just buying a bar of chocolate. ;)
