The best part about this store is the owner, he is full of knowledge about everything in his store, and he has a lot of stuff in this small store!!! I found this store about 6 yrs ago, went in, browsed around, and saw so much stuff I never saw before, so I asked what is this for, what is that for? The owner never hesitated to give me knowledgeable information, no question was a bad question, and I asked a lot lol. at the time, I had a very sick friend, the owner gave such great advise, on how to nurse your body back to good health, of corse with the doctors approval, we were finally on the right track to mentally and physically recovering a sick body, And it seemed like I gained more respect from the doctors, because I was asking more educated questions!!! I live an hour away from this little miracle store, full of thousands of healthy items, fresh herbs in jars, where you take the jar, up to the counter and they measure out your desired amount, the old fashioned way like in the 1920's era!!! You can't find this anywhere!!! Fresh beans, nuts, healthy candy, oats, grains, all of it, bag it yourself, the desired amounts. Tons of supplements, and the owner is amazingly full of information about anything I have ever asked him, in the 5yrs I have been going in there. If you can't find what you want, to feel healthier, in this store, the owner will steer you in the right direction! Rick is the owner of this store that has been around here for 27 years. He is very knowledgable and encouraging to everyone who asks! He was once an ex body builder, but still the physique remains! My wife and I love this shop and come here as often as we can! Now that we live right around the corner, we bring Rick a cup of Lavazza coffee! My favorite and he loves it too! I am eating breakfast as I write this, and amin the middle of a curry-induced coma. Yes, I used curry in my breakfast, just as I used it in all my meals yesterday. And I will continue to do so until such point as I become jaundiced with innter tumeric stain. This is relevant to this review because Healthworks is where I bought this particular curry, which is above and beyond any curry I have had out to eat or have bought. And I don't care if I sweat curry...I will endure embarrassing effects of overconsumption when I find a spice that I love. But do the wonders of the store end there? No - a very big, echoing, NO. Chocolate covered ginger in bulk, any and every baking supply, rareities, granolas, you name it, all line the first 2 aisles in large barrels. Upon entering my friend and I were invited to try whatever striked our fancy. Come again? Did you actually ENCOURAGE tasting? Points, points points. The prices? Let's not even go there. I almost flipped my lid wanting to buy everything and only refrained from doing so because I only have 2 arms. 2 ARMS? What kind of sick joke is this? Next time, I'm bringing a U-Haul. There is also an extensive sports nutrition section that rivals GNC. Collingswood wonts for naught; Fly coffee shops-check. Health Food store for ALL your needs-check. Vitamins, veggie meats, incense,yes yes yes. And the guy who runs the ship behind the counter is pleasant and inviting. Healthworks is awesome! I always get my health products here. I do not live close by to this business per say, but it is worth traveling. From prices and all the things they have to offer from products, sometimes free samples on the counter, to Rick the owner, and other friends and co worker are awesome. I can call or go in and get the help I need and get the questions I have answered. I buy things from my deodorant, toothpaste, my fiancés shampoo, Flour, nuts, vitamins, and much more from here. The area that it is in is also beautiful for a nice stroll down Haddon Ave with plenty of restaurants and other stores to visit. Rick is an awesome, kind hearted individual who is willing to answer any question and help with any problem what so ever. If you ever in the area don't hesitate to stop by and take a look at everything he has available. this food market is one of the cleanest and best organized health food stores around. this is not the dusty, crowded, patchouli-scented health food store you're used to. staff are friendly and helpful and the ambience is pleasant and relaxed. it has a real old time "general store" type of feel with all kinds of great products and food at reasonable prices. i wish they'd do more to advertise the store and get the word out about it, even the sign out front is not very eye-catching. the only reason we went in was because of the hand written sign that said "natural pet food", however we left with lots of human food. it's definitely going to be a place where we're regulars. read more
