UPDATE: Go Johnny Go responded immediately to our original review in order to make things right.        The Chef arrived on time to prepare us lunch. The 5-course meal consisted of a wild mushroom bruschetta, beef carpaccio, winter salad, filet with bearnaise with roasted brussels sprouts and a delicious potato Coquilles St Jacques dish as sides, ending with a chocolate mousse parfait topped with whipped cream, raspberries and mint garnish.  He also brought two bottles of wine (Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc). This meal was absolutely delish, and the dessert was amazing! We really appreciate them going above and beyond to make things right. I was at my mother in laws 60th birthday day celebration and they were 1.5 hour late. They didn't double pan the food so it burned. The bottom of the fish they served was definitely burned. The chicken was overcooked and burnt as well. The greens were NOT COOKED, they were still bright green and had no flavor. The mac and cheese smelled and tasted burned. This was the worst food ever. I truly wouldn't recommend utilizing them for anything the food is horrible and unpalatable. read more

The professionalism before my event was spectacular, the day of however.... my food arrived 4 hours early due miscommunication, it was sent back to be " re-made" however when it arrived I was not convinced that it wasn't just sitting there. GoJohnnyGo catered my company holiday party this week. We ordered mixed fajitas with some substitutions for a few vegetarians. Johnny was extremely accommodating when it came to scheduling the event and making the veggie substitutions, which we really appreciated. He was also very affordable at $11/person with a $50 delivery fee to Austin. I tried the rice and charro beans and loved both of them. I would have liked to try the fajita meat, but that's where the 3 star part comes in. There was nowhere near enough meat. We ordered for 45 people and had one chaffing dish of meat. The veggies for the 5 vegetarians filled half a chaffing dish, so proportionally it just made no sense. We actually tried to call Chipotle and order some chicken last minute, but they didn't have enough for a last minute sale. Our other complaint was that we had no way to tip the delivery driver. He was so friendly and set everything up for us, but we didn't have cash/were using a company card and our receipts were just emailed to us. I felt terrible about it. Overall, I recommend his service and would use him again, but I would probably order twice the amount of food, which makes him considerably less affordable. read more

Good morning this is very piss poor service and y'all lied I'm a Veteran and this is how you treat people. I paid y'all without hesitation and now when it's time to send my money back it's an issue. Y'all don't respond to text messages but y'all were before y'all had my money. I want my refund now because I don't want to go through my bank but I will. I am very thankful for GoJohnnyGO! I chose GJG Catering to arrange meals for my company meetings all week.There were no places that delivered on site south of San Antonio except for GoJohnnyGo! Customer service was excellent, communication, payment, and delivery went exactly how you would hope, perfectly! I got to speak with Johnny himself, who was so helpful, accommodating, and patient with frequently changing and tweaking of orders throughout the week. The ten or so co-workers who were able to partake in the GJG Catering feast were very satisfied with the gourmet style deli sandwiches, salads, and much more that Go Johnny Go Catering offered. Not a place I would recommend, my fiancée paid and ordered catering a week before our wedding and was told that it would arrive around 5pm which was perfect because it would have been there and set up right before the reception was supposed to start. 5pm comes around and everyone is sitting at the reception wondering where the food is at. She calls the company to ask if there was a delay or something and the Owner of the business tells her that he can't make it because he's in an Emergency Federal Court case and had to call someone else to deliver it who was 45-60 minutes away and at no point does he think to call and inform us of this. The food finally gets there after 6 and this poor worker has all the food stuffed into the back of her personal car and panicking because this was sprung on her last minute. So we help her set up everything and apologize for her having to be put in this situation, and once we begin to serve the food we discover that all the food is cold..... not room temperature but cold, the "smoked chicken" was still very much pink in the middle and some were still bleeding and the brisket was as tough as leather. One of the guests call the manager to tell them about the food as he keeps trying to tell us he's in a federal court case. All we were asking for was a refund for the poor food/service and he tells the person on the phone that we can't get a discount or refund after all that and then has the nerve to act like it's not his fault but to try and take back the food for us to get a refund. Almost as if he was going to reuse it or something. Between the lack of communication from the owner to the quality of the food I advise anyone to stay far away from this business. read more

We used gojohnnygo to cater our wedding. Although the food was good and professionally done, Johnny sugfesred to use a baker he had. We did, the cake was extremely small and everyone commented that it was not good and very dry. It was cut before we could take pictures so disappointed. I SENT him a comment and crickets. If you use him, do not let him suggest his baker contact. I could have done a better job and actually had pictures of us cutting the cake. read more

We used GO JOIHNNY GO several times for my office and school district fuctions, their food is exellent and always a big hit, but unfortunately their customer service lacks a bit. The first time we used them the driver had a licence to carry and had a hard time getting into the base where our district is located, information they could have given me so that we could make adjustments. I ordered food for our new employee luncheon, they were one hour late and there was not enough food. We gave them the benifit of doubt and used them one last time for our Thanksgiving Lunch to be served at 11:30am., they were supposed to deliver our food ,have it set up by 11:00 am. the delivery person showed up at 12:45! They never called to appoligize or offer any kind of recompance, nothing! we will never used them again. I dont understand or believe any of the good reviews on this page, both the owner and the lady that takes some of the calls are very unprofessional and dont care about thier customers, their action shows how much they care. read more

I was looking for catering for our monthly staff luncheon. We were tired of the same old sandwiches, so we were excited to try goJohnny go. the immediate response was very good - this was when I was ordering and paying. now comes the day of delivery. I got a call 10 minutes before we were to begin serving and was told the delivery person would be 10 minutes late. As it turns out, they were MORE than 25 minutes late and the meeting was starting. looks bad on me, like I can't coordinate a simple meal for our staff. The food was not even warm and we didn't have time to wait for the little burners to warm it up. We were missing condiments that were promised as part of our fajita meal -- the cheese and sour cream. We were also missing ICE for the ICED tea. I called right away so that the delivery person could come right back -- NO RESPONSE! I emailed after our meeting was concluded -- NO RESPONSE! read more

We just used Johnnys for catering our monthly staff luncheon. It's really hard to believe the high reviews on Yelp - especially here in San Antonio where people know bbq. The brisket was fatty and tough, the chicken was black, and the sausage was horrible. The only decent dish was the potato salad. We rarely have much left overs from luncheons - but this was a first. At the end of the day most of the containers were still over half full. A few people had to take breaks to go outside during the afternoon due to the lingering smell. Now, we take responsibility for looking for a cheaper cost caterer - won't do that again! read more

I am beyond happy with the service I received from Johnny and his team. First,he was able to accommodate my short notice catering request after I had my original caterer cancel, and them the taste of all the food provided was phenomenal! My guests all went back for second round! We ordered the sausage, brisket and bbq chicken sliders with mashed potatoes, green beans and creamed corn. All were tasty, but the sausage, chicken sliders and creamed corn had us licking our fingers and rubbing our belly! Also let me mention, his delivery service doesnt just drop off food, they set up buffet style and provide you with cutlery and sweet tea! I highly recommend Go Johnny go for all your catering needs!! We hired Go Johnny Go Catering for our wedding in October of this year and it was one of the best decisions we made!! We cannot help but rave about our experience! Even before the initial meeting with Johnny we were impressed with the menu he had created for us, but once we tasted his food we were sold! His eggplant pomodoro was so flavorful! His use of spices and capers and olives made the dish sing. Paired with grilled vegetables with that perfectly grilled taste, two different salads, and french bread, our wedding day meal was truly perfect! As with any catered meal, I was worried that the flavors and presentation wouldn't necessarily carry over to the mass-production required for a wedding, but we were so pleasantly surprised that the pasta we ate at our wedding had all of the wow factor it had at the tasting! The staff were incredibly professional, friendly, and proactively looking for what guests needed. At one point, one of the staff even noticed that my husband's beer wasn't open and he swung by our sweetheart table with a bottle opener. I'm telling you, we were so impressed with every detail of our meal and the service. When we pulled up to the sampling, we weren't sure what to expect because it is right next door to a massage parlor--but do not let this deter you! Johnny and crew catered my daughter's wedding in March, 2017. It was fabulous! I have never been to a wedding that had better food, and we are a foodie family! We started with three passed appetizers during cocktail hour, and the staff went out of their way to make sure everyone had the opportunity to nibble on the offerings. They even went out of their way to bring a tray to the family members taking photos after the ceremony! My daughter wanted a carving station, so we ordered prime rib, pork loin, roasted potatoes, mixed vegetables, roasted asparagus and spinach, cucumber and strawberry salad skewers. Strange to say, but the food at the wedding was actually more tender, moist and flavorful than at the tasting! We just used GoJohnnyGo Catering for our daughter's graduation party and we would highly recommend their services. They were extremely polite and accommodating. Johnny had good ideas and really aimed to please from our first contact to our last.Our guests raved about the food and we enjoyed the leftovers in the days following the party.
